As much as I love Gaim, I would've been annoyed if we've had to deal with yet another story arch of Kouta moping around so I'm glad this time it was resolved quickly.

I agree to an extent - but I just felt the first half felt a little undermined by having Kouta literally "get over it" like five minutes later. Like we've been building to Kouta to learn the truth for some damn long, we could literally hear the kettle screaming on the boil of the stove and yet in the end it just sorta...fizzled out.

And I know someone is gonna argue the importance of character here and don't bother, I perfectly understand what it was doing, but underplaying an epic moment of a characters development for the sake of development in the first place is a little lame in my books, which is why I'm that lonely number one there under everyone else.

That was the most badass thing ever to bad an ass. I honestly don't know where to start with this episode. Kouta found his fighting spirit again (And he didn't need bathtime to do it (Sorry Wataru)), Ryouma got a nice metaphorical middle finger from DJ Man. And seriously, wtf. How did he just make a Lockseed?! And he can talk to Future-Mai? The fudge?!

And watching this I am seriously hoping for a Samurai Theme on Samurai Theme Shinkinger v Gaim special.

I haven't seen the episode yet, but I assume the fruits of Helheim.

Maybe it was because I just came off of Blade when Gaim started, but every time Mai said "Micchy," I heard whiny spider boy's girlfriend.

This was one of the deepest and from a kids show standpoint darkest plots I've ever watched. I'm so glad I got into KR at the time I have, it's just amazing.

That DJ guy is a lot more mysterious than I thought, how is he able to make a lock seed out of an ordinary fruit?! How did he just disappear? What is going one?!?!

Also, as much as I am enjoying this show, it always baffles me how heroes are able to figure out how to work their upgrades and weapons without any instructions. If you gave me that DJ Gun, I would have no idea what that turntable and switch did. Haha. On that note, I kind of want the DJ Gun now....

Edit: Forgot to mention how much I dislike Micchy. He's an interesting character who has changed quite a bit but either way he is my least favourite character so far. Starting from his long hair and somewhat feminine civilian attire to his evil backstabbing self he is now. Me no likey.

Anyways, good episode. The only minor complaint I had was Kouta got a little teary eyed and not into full breakdown like I expected.

Ryoma, how about instead of complaining, you get up off your ass and become Duke and kick some ass! You too Micchy, you haven't been relevant as a Rider in awhile either.

Kachidoki is such an amazing form. It follows all of the rules of an amazing final form and its not even the final form. Mixing and extending of the various motifs to a near balance of elements to create a perfect fusion? Check. Epic armor bulk and badassery? Check. Kick ass pool of powers and weapons? Check. Badass first fight? Check. Haven't seen his finishers yet but I hope they are really good. the only thing missing is everyone standing around in awe at the new power.

I wouldn't say that Kachidoki is the best upgrade form debut but it's one of the better ones.

Gaim already feels like its in the 30s even though its only episode 23.

Holy crap that new form is freaking AMAZING!!! And that gun is just awesomesauce all around.

How does this show keep blowing away my expectations?

Well, this was a brilliant episode. While it seems Kota has no allies left apart from Zack (who does nothing), he gets DJ Sagara show up, and do just what he needs. And give him a gun with a DJ table on it to shoot out Clonokages and Dandelinders. And he beats Melon Energy pretty handily. Especially with his new purpose of Screwing Yggdrasil over and showing them they're wrong. I still really like Takatora though, even if Kaito's a massive buthole and everyone else seems to make us want to hate them.

Kouta didn't beat Shin Zangetsu. He didn't beat shit. All he did was beat a bunch of genericlones.

He may not have beat him in a straight fight, but he took out his Scalar System. And considering Kota almost died to this guy 20 episodes ago, that's a big improvement.
