This seems like kind of a plot hole to me, like if soemone else found an orange lockseed, would they look just like Gaim? Because it seems even if Gaim uses someone elses first, he still has the Gaim base suit. Is that base suit tied to the PERSON, not the Lockseed? That could explain why Baron still has the same base, its because he "fused" with one of the earlier warring drivers that could only be partnered with one person.

The base suits are unique to the riders, not the lock seeds. I don't understand how there's still debate over that, that's HOW Arms Change works.

Baron will always look like Baron. Even if they gave him a new base suit, it would still look slightly different just like Zangetsu did. But they didn't have time for that.

Regardless it's still not a plothole. Kurokages notwithstanding, given they're designed to be generics, all the drivers give the riders unique looks. The Lock Seed has nothing to do with it. (Even Kachidoki and Jinba merely add to the base suit, though Jinba is just new colour to the helmet)

For that matter, why hasnt anyone else EVER found an orange lockseed? Are they just not common? You'd think others would want them since it seems so powerful.

Not really. Most riders seem to prefer the ones they have, with all but Gridon's and Knuckle's having equal power levels. They have bigger things to worry about than collecting lock seeds.

Higher level Lock Seeds are more rare. Kaito found a bunch of sunflower and pinecones before getting excited over finding Mango. We know multiples exist, as the DJ had them. But the higher level ones are deffinitely uncommon.

Kachidoki is one of a kind, though, and energy lockseeds are actually manufactured.

Quick question. Is Kaito Genesis Driver belt the only one that has a quote/saying/battle cry? With Duke it was just a the instrumental beat, but with Kaito it's "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT POWER!!! FIGHT FIGHT!!"

We know what Ryouma is like, he probably did that on purpose.

Duke's is also "Fight" over and over again. No modifications to the LockSeed noise were made, it's just a happy coincidence.

The instrumental beat you hear over his first hidden Henshin is just when the lock opens. The other four energy locks and Kachidoki all have short beats when they're first opened pre-henshin.

So is it just the Lemon Energy Lockseed that has the battle cry? Because Melon Energy arms just have the music tone after the "Melon Energy Arm" saying

Only Lemon has a battle cry. It just seems like a massive coincidence, because it's programmed onto the toy, which was released long ago. Before episode 19 was confirmed to be written.

Another great episode, but my god, Micchy has become an utter douche. Instead of playing both sides he is now just a dick because of a girl!!

I do wish there were proper subs for the Overlords though.

This was one step too far with most characters. I don't understand the motivations of Micchy or Kaito now and Takatora just seems to be going along with the project ark plan to save face.

Just when I was happy with the characters, they seem to lose all sense of reality.

"I'm a dick because of Mai"... seriously? Is that all? Wow. Pretty flimsy...

Still, I can't say I'm not enjoying Gaim. It's still good! Enjoyed the episode.

I dunno man, they've been building up to Micchy as a psychopath for a while and i think Takatora seems pretty consistent. Kaito I think theyre just finally starting to get a handle on though.

Micchy has always been single minded about keeping Mai "happy" as he refers to it. That meant keeping the whole Team Gaim in the dark. He cooperated with Takatora in hopes of stopping this invasion, but he has no qualms about Yggdrasil's methods.

Now that Mai knows and furthermore, disapproves of him, he lost his one sole motivation. No wonder he's unscrewed. It's actually quite a natural development if you observed him over the past 20+ episodes because that boy is obsessed about only one thing and that's Mai.

Takatora is going along with Project Ark because he sees no alternative. Remember, unlike Ryouma, Kaito or Kouta, he doesn't know about the Overlords, and it remains to be seen how he'll take their existence. So it's pretty clear what his motivations are: to save the world in the only way he knows how.

Kaito is embroiled in his "survival of the fittest" mentality. He is searching for a way to gain and use power in the coming new world, and feels defeating the Overlords will give him that power.

Their motivations may seem a touch on the crazy side, but they make perfect sense for their personalities. :lol

This was the episode I was waiting for.

Micchi's unraveling was going to begin sooner or later and I'm excited to see the road he goes down from here. I love characters like Micchy, who become self-proclaimed protectors but fall down a corrupted path and do shady or even villainous things believing that it's just another form of justice. If he doesn't kick the bucket by the end of the series I'll be completely amazed.

Am I the only one who's disappointed Kota didn't get to kick the shit out of Kaito using Kachidoki Arms? Seriously, having our manly protagonist kick the shit out of that arrogant prick would have been cathartic as hell.

I'm disappointed too. Fuck you micchy! Why did you have to ruin that moment?

I have a feeling the Kachidoki lockseed is going to be stolen/taken at some point.

Great episode, but I'm officially tired of Kachidoki Arms. The suit is gorgeous, but I am dead fucking tired of seeing close-ups of the DJ Gun. I get how the toy works, already, move the hell on.

I'm the opposite. I don't think we have had enough of that DJ gun.

Yeah, the close up shots do detract from the tension a little.

This. One hundred percent this. It's probably the most shameless piece of advertising I've ever seen, which says a lot, as this is a genre built on shameless advertising.

How are people tired of a form we've had for just 3 or 4 episodes LOL. I understand the complaints with the stopping of combat to show the DJ Gun( in fact, I hate that ). But seriously, it's only been a month since Kachidoki's debut.

For me it's because we still don't actually really know how the gun or the form even really works, we get no new information from the close ups and it completely breaks the flow of the fight. Those close ups exist entirely for the sake of 'BUY THIS BUY THIS BUY THIS'. It's such a shame in such an otherwise fantastically written and realised series we still have to stoop to these lows.

I felt the same when in earlier episodes we got a string of episodes involving atrociously animated CG bikes and mech things, which one again served no real purpose in the show, they just created new money making opportunities for those with money behind this. But at least the writers were smart enough to remove them pretty much entirely once the contract had had its fill of advertising quotas, so can't we do the same and just stop with the close ups now?

We don't know the advertising quotas for this form though. The shows the bikes quite a bit during that first arc and just stops showing them so much. But that was like 8 episodes of showing the bikes, so it may be just as long for Kachidoki or even longer.

Well the magic broomsticks and those stupid robot leg things were only in like three episodes if I remember? Maybe I just mentally blocked it out because it sucked so bad. Either way the close ups need to stop, and we need more sweet flag carnage.

Water Mellon Arms and the Tulip Hopper are all CGI though, so it's probably harder and more expensive to integrate them into each episode.

That's probably why we don't see the Dandeliner that often too.

Because every Kachidoki fight is identical. Kouta stands there, holds up the gun, we get a close-up of him playing with the toggle and turntable, then he shoots something. Repeat as needed. It's incredibly boring.
