There might be a new live action. After they re-did the manga, musical and anime, this sounds quite plausible. Also, the official site has a menu tab called "tokusatsu" that isn't accessible yet.

Let's see what we'll get. We have the musicals, for now, with Chibimoon and Pluto making their first appearance in the version- wonder how the second one will be. I didn't like La Reconquista, but I'll watch it for Yuri from Kiva (she's Jupiter).

The live action sailor moon was that good?

"My boyfriend died so I'm going to kill myself and doom the entire world! Twice." Such an awesome hero. Either way, despite a lot of filler, the anime had far more interesting and fleshed out villains, a far easier to follow plot, more interesting fight scenes (because the mangas were just... Awful) and a far more likeable cast of characters/ I've read the manga, seen all the anime and watched PGSM and I think the Anime and PGSM are just objectively better then the manga in nearly every single way. |

The musicals have quite a lot of cool Pluto scenes :)

I really liked her in the Black Lady Arc of the manga though. As for the anime, I haven't seen that much of it (basically because I don't like the anime in general). But Myu is my number one Sailor Moon adaption, so I always come back to that.

I really hate how they animated and voiced her Dead Scream. It seems so... lame. In the musicals, she really puts energy in that attack- and they also gave her more attacks than just one...

Also, Saturn is much more important in the manga than anime. Quote:

Plus, the fights in the manga are just so bad it hurts. Takeuchi makes beautiful cover arts, some of the best in the business even, but whoever told that girl that she should do an action manga is very stupid indeed. For example I loaded a random chapter and attached its "fight scene", it took me three reads to actually work out what the hell was going on and even then it doesn't look very good. And that's only some of my problems with the manga. The pace is really not good, the fact that it was made FOR an anime adaption is painfully obvious, particularly early on. Many of the chapters are merely setting up a plot and you can almost see "Anime, please add detail here", especially during the Sailor Soldiers introductory. The main characters themselves are only really fleshed out in their "Spotlight"specials and even then I have a problem with Serenity's horrible-ness. I stopped reading for ages when she stabbed herself to death because her boyfriend died, knowing it'd mean the end of the world. Just awful. The plot itself is so confused its sometimes hard to follow and the anime nearly universally does the plot better and the characters themselves simply don't act like real people or react to situations like a real person would, which I have a big problem with. Sailor Stars is one of my favorite anime seasons, but the manga version was just awful. Also, the ending was both incredibly rushed and incredibly bleak. I hated the ending. Above all, however, and worst of all, the manga was boring. It was really a struggle to get through some arcs because there was very little attempt to make me care about the villains, characters or even the story and the pacing was confused at best. Its sad because Codename Sailor V was totally fun and very amusing but the second she got told to write a manga for adaption the quality dropped. Its also weird that the Sailor Moon anime kept the tone and playfulness of Sailor V instead of the dreariness of the manga. This is why the new anime really isn't as faithful to the manga as they claim. What I want is something like PGSM, where they do their own thing and take from all the previous Sailor Moon stories to make something wonderful. Quote:

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon is wonderful though. It took the best of the anime and the best of the manga and combined them perfectly. It has the fun characters and villains that do more then die like the anime had, along with the more complex plot and sometimes uses the manga's darker tone when necessary. Plus, I think the writer had some of the same problems with the manga that I did and fixed them. As I mentioned before, a good example is how Serenity is still a self-centered cow on a galactic level, but in PGSM she actually is considered villainous because of it because the characters react to her actions (which are the same as her actions in the manga) in ways that people actually should/would. |

The original translations were bizarre and the Kodanshas are indeed better, but my problem is with the story and art more then the translation when it comes to the manga. |

However, an anime adaptation that is straight from the manga will help you follow the action. Quote:
Do you hate Romeo & Juliet for the same reason? Quote:

And I don't want something like PGSM. We have already had them do their own things, twice. I want a series that is 100% the manga translated into anime form. |

PGSM handled the selfishness of Serenity perfectly. She had absolutely no right to do what she did and the fact that NOBODY calls her out on her villain-level schemes in the manga is evidence of the often times horrible writing of the manga. I am so glad that the writers of PGSM had the sense to read it and think "Wait. What the hell?". Quote:

But no, a 100% adaptation would be both pointless and awful. The manga was not well written. PGSM was far better written and the anime, while not faultless, was a heck of a lot funner, had far better characters and had a far better plot that didn't take itself too seriously. I don't want PGSM again, but I do want an anime that's written better then the manga was, similar to PGSM's superior writing to the manga, rather then a straight adaptation. |
Where everyone dies? Nobody died. They were all frozen to be woken up later. What part of the Dark Moon Kingdom saga did you not understand?

Sure, it was glossed over like pretty much everything in the finale of the manga and never spoken of again in order to pretend the ending was a lot happier then it was, but it was there. That was the reason Sailor Cosmos had come back in time and Sailor Moon made the conscious decision NOT to stop that future. |

Sailor Cosmos wasn't in the Stars anime either, instead Chibi Chibi was Sailor Galaxya, which worked just as well. |
