Well, the actor for Mitsuzane certainly has learned how to do the crazy evil laugh right. I mean, seriously, he could date Gogo Yubari and it would be a perfect match of crazy laughter.

I don't even want to touch the whole Shin Zangetsu is more powerful in this episode than Triumphant and Kiwami Arms bit. That kind of makes my stomach hurt because there's no way that Kouta should be overpowered. I'm going to chalk it up to his inability to have the resolve of beating down Mitsuzane. I'm concerned though that they're gonna let it drag out the remainder of episodes until the end. At this point, I just want Mitsuzane to burn or be squished. He's getting in the way of everyone, Overlords and Riders combined. I really hope they don't try to make his manic ass do some sort of turn around. He's pretty much turned too much over to cheapen it.

Baron is once again less annoying in this episode, and more amazing. I could have watched an entire series with him and been happy.

Watching the lockseed drop from above, yes, Micchy's decent into madness, yes, the whole episode, yes.

I'm wondering now though if the reason Takatora's actor didn't get flowers is because he's still coming back, but only as Micchy's lovely hallucination.

Yeah, at no point could I take him seriously in those shorts. They just looked ridiculous.

Hands down one of my favorite shots of the series, I think. Simple, quick, but very effective.

Overall, I'm just ready for Micchy to die now. I have to wonder, though, if his powering up has something to do with becoming an Overlord, since they're extra buff and he seems to be following a similar path to Redyue.

No, the sliding plate is something the drivers in the show actually have. It's how Kouta attaches the Genesis core to use the Jimba forms.

That said, it most likely is a toy, just beacuse it makes a lot more sense to grab one of the toys and mess it up than to damage the more expensive prop that goes with the Zangetsu suit. Either that or with the blank plate they just messed up one of the Kurokage trooper belt props.

Except on Hase's, then.

The pic of Hase's driver you posted certainly looks like it has a sliding faceplate to me. Why do you say it lacks one?

Seems to be a solid piece to me. Doesn't have the gap next to the Indicator bay like the toy does.

I don't know where you see the plate, because Hase's clearly has an indentation with no cuts, where Takatora has a plate with an obvious cut where the blank plate was slid in.

Hase's has a plate. There is the line just the picture is done all Helheimy.
Although looking at the cut it could be the full peice, or a customized plate.

You fail to understand. By "Plate" I don't mean the area where the rider's face appears.
I mean the literal blank "plate" part the toy features that can be swapped in and out, something that Hase's belt does not have.

I'm so confused. Hase's belt not only has the visible gap where the faceplate slides out, it even looks like it's not even in properly, making the gap seem even larger.

Both those belts look like identical tooling except for the damage. Both have the same seam where the faceplates go. Every belt has.

There's really no seam in the Hase version between the indicator and the driver. Contrast the extremely obvious one on the Takatora version.

I couldn't get a clearer shot of the immediate aftermath of Zangetsu's attack in 11, but it's clear that they had two different props: that one, and the one in this screen- which is also a banged-up DX toy.

I stand by the one from 11 being a solid piece, however.

I'm still wondering how this is going to lead up to the possible future from the first episode, what with Takatora being dead (supposedly) and Micchy having abandoned altogether.

I liked this episode by itself, though.

He didn't steal Cherry, he won it. That's how the things sometimes work (honestly kind of questioning it myself)- lose a fight, lose your Lockseed. This was established back in the first episode; by their logic, Kaito's a thief (Mai's Himawari and Hase's Matsubokkuri), Micchy... Well alright no point going there- but you get the idea.

Either way, this kind of reaction is to be expected. They want an anti-hero for a "grimdark" series and instead they get someone who refuses to let fear, chaos, and the general shittiness of the world change him. But then we on this side of the pond do have a disturbing fondness for antiheroes.

Exactly. I'm still confused where the crybaby thing came from, though. Recently he's gotten emotional because he couldn't stop his best friend from killing his brother, his sister being kidnapped by an Overlord, and Mai being kidnapped by Micchy.

But even then he never actually cried. He just stood back up, swore to right the wrong, and Lockseeded.

He didn't lock himself his house and hide in the bathtub. (Sorry Wataru, I love Kiva but.. a lot of the time you needed your ass kicked)

Yeah, I don't know what people want Kouta to do. Be the next Tendou Souji or something? Kouta's shaping up to be one of my favorite leads, right up there with Shinji and Shotaro.

His naivety in regards to Micchy is starting to annoy me, but on the whole I still really like the guy. He's not one of my favorite main Riders ever or anything, but he's a good protagonist.
