sorry on no pics this time. I got the kikaider side machine yesterday and finally opened kikaider and it and posed them both. cool thing is you can actually fit another figuart in the side car! I have the box put away so that's why no pics. posing it was tough and it came with decal stickers, so those stay in the box cause stickers drive me crazy. I forgot to mention this at the end of November, but I found and bought an mlp sunny rays from the pony wedding line from the end of season 2 of mlp at Big Lots the Wednesday before thanksgiving. gotta love Big Lots around the holidays or anytime of year for older toys.

Finally my stuff came in.

I was more excited for the "THE IDOLM@STER MOVIE" Blu-Ray Limited Edition though since it's my all time favorite anime, it has no subs but I don't care since I'm supporting something that I love, and it also helped me through my tough time.

Was at the local Uwajimaya (chain of Japanese grocery store) and their candy toy section was actually fully stocked. Usually I'm only there after it has been picked through.
So after all this time avoiding ToQger stuff, I walked out with a full set of the clear plastic Chou ToQ-Oh minipla. If I like it enough, I may have to hunt down clear BuildDaiOh so I can make Chou Chou ToQ-Oh

Got these from work today.

I just don't get the love for Amiibos/Skylanders/INfinitys.

For the Amiibos, it works across different games so you get more for your money. I can understand the appeal of those but not Sylanders/Infinity where it's required. I guess it's because you get a figurine and something to do with it in game.

Honestly, I initially had no plans to buy all of them. Just the select ones I wanted. But they launched on sale at work, so I bought the whole wave. These just hit and there was another sale, so I thought why not? I'm effectively all in now because I have them all and might as well.

I like the amiibo because they're literally the trophies from the game. Skylanders and Infinity are neat, but there's not enough reason to get those. I have no interest in those games and I have no real attachment to any of those characters. I do like the fact that amiibo are a feature and not a requirement. Function across multiple games is nice too. Having all of them allows me access to w/e features there are in any game.

Scalpers are stupid and these are selling absurdly high. Especially the supposed "discontinued" ones that I have no reason to believe are actually discontinued. I'm getting them all right away so I don't have to worry about not being able to get one later.

Alternatively I could just buy the Japanese versions at roughly the same price but with a little extra for shipping.

I also happen to just really like Nintendo and Smash Bros. Even if I don't use them often, they make wonderful display pieces.

It's not really a whole lot different from collecting little gashapon figures. Only they have an alternate function.

I think the Infinity and Amiibo figurines have some appeal since they're fairly recognizable characters (Amiibos possibly more considering, as PkmnMaster said, they look like the trophies from Smash). Skylanders? I don't recognize a single character from that game and quite obviously most of those characters are Skylander original characters, so unless you've played that game, you'd have no clue who half of those characters are. Isn't it a Spyro game? I can't even tell anymore.

They make good Kaijin substitutes, especially the bigger ones.

It's no different than any other collectable tchotchke like Lock Seeds.

Activision used the Spyro name as a launching pad for marketing the first game. So that way they could get some people interested. But asides from that, Skylanders is its own thing.

Well, by then, the Yomotsuheguri Lock Seed, which was released this month, should be at Tom's door, but then I also have Ryugen-yomi on preorder. Most likely, I'll be shipping the Lock with Kamuro/Mars+Matsubokkuri energy since I have a buddy who has an item that he preordered with Tom, and I know he'd want his right away.

Ah, damn. I guess my order for the Yomotsuheguri set didn't go through with him then. Ah well.

I really wish I could find duplicates to actually hang. The flags seem pretty scarce so I'm unusually hesitant about opening them up without backups.

Picked up a generations Whirl from Ross for $9.99. Not a bad price considering how much it is on the aftermarket/it's regular retail price.
