Seems the premiere really lives up with all the hype. Hope that future episodes can do better.

I liked this first episode. I, like a few others here, felt it was a bit too rushed at points. I kind of wish it would've been more like Shinkenger (which I started watching with my wife this weekend) where it slowly introduces each character and their backstory rather than "Here's the whole cast! Here's their personality summed up in a few lines! NOW ON TO THE ACTION!"
Regardless of that, I still dug most of what I saw here. The plot seems a little generic but that may (and hopefully will) change with future episodes. I like how Shurikenjin works and thought it was awesome to see a mecha that can actually MOVE. I haven't seen that since GekiTouja. Overall I liked what I saw and will continue watching. |

What's next? Hot Dog?! ;) |
Another minor thing I really loved about the episode was when the monster grew giant and we saw the beast kick our heroes away they actually showed it from far away so you had tiny Ninninger flying through the air :lol
|
My favorite moment was definitely the mecha. I love how they actually puppeteer Shinobimaru so it looks like he's piloting the Shurikenjin.
The mechs in general are pretty awesome, the suit-stunts with Shinobimaru are excellent. Dragomaru and Wanmaru could get some more spotlight, but with what's coming up in the next episode we will see more dragon-action. I really hope Shurikenjin Drago fights like Godzilla or a similar Kaiju. |
I'll just make the same post as almost every previous year :)
It was like any other first sentai episode: action packed, rushed, and with a show-off of cool features. That's nor surprise nor big deal, the formula has to been thrown right away at the target audience, who doesn't really expect much more by the way. I'll wait for more episodes to get a clear idea of the show. |
An OK start. Cast is good and action is very well done.
But the pacing is really bad. This felt way too rushed. |
Well I loved it. It was a pretty nice start to the series. I'm liking all of the characters with Kasumi and Fuuka being my favorites so far. The action was done well, though I wish they used more ninjutsu. The real standout to me was the mecha fight, especially the parts with ShinobiMaru. That was some of the best miniature/mecha fights I've ever seen.
Overall, okay start with some really good bits. |

name one transformation device that is shape like American Fast Food? |
Well this episode was pretty good. Like others have said though it felt just a tad bit rushed but not anything to big. What I loved though were the fight scenes. Shinobimaru had some really great movement, and I liked some of the comedic bit in there.
The second episode seems to be a bit slowed down and hopefully we will get to know a little more about our team. The monster suits looked okay, not as good as ToQgers villians but hey, I just can't wait to see the main guys suit, cause I bet it awesome. |
WHAT'S GOOD NINGERS? WHAT'S REAL GOOD?!
joking aside, a great first episode, while the pacing feels really fast, I feel it kinda helps with their theme of "we're not stealthy we're flashy" I also like having a humanoid mech as one of the 5. I just kinda wished he could lock in somewhere instead of sliding in, but, hopefully they can change it up for future mech combos. I also like how a dad is part of the main cast. |
Great introduction, always love the feeling of when a new sentai starts airing, very fast pace opening but that is quite common in sentai, especially in the 80s. Takaharu reminds me a little of Daigo with the way he speaks, and the rest of the cast are intriguing as well.
Shinobimaru is very agile as well, bring on episode 2. |
That was... sudden.
A lot of stuff happened quickly without really sticking. On the other hand the suit work was superb, and all the tricks with the buildings were amazing. |

This show was everything I hoped before it aired. The damn ShinobiMaru actually drives the combined Mech! The characters, everything, absolutely love it.
Inu seems useless though. Poor dog just gets to be a damn shin and that's it. And Kyuemon Izayoi... Well, I have a new Waifu. |
That was a pretty fun opening!
|
This was a great start of this new Sentai series.
|
It was okay. I was very aware that the whole episode was a toy commercial and that makes for a bad first impression. They're always going to have to sell toys, but that doesn't mean they have to cram it all into episode 1. ToQger did the same thing and I ended up really enjoying that show, so this isn't me judging the show poorly on one episode. I'm just saying this isn't a very good way to start. I will say the action was good and the mecha effects were quite nice. Shinobimaru might be the most agile zord suit every made. Hope it gets used often.

This episode felt like the pilot to a show that didn't know it was getting a full season. It felt seriously rushed, but I'm still hopeful for the rest of the season. And I need more of Hammer-man and the Last Ninja, and less of that sword's voice.
|
I don't see how it was any less rushed than any other Sentai premier. Hell, they didn't even show the main villains yet.

Hot damn. I love how flashy these guys are. The choreography and animations are super slick. Helps that the suit designs are pretty great too.
"I've got... a dump truck?... Why?" XD Wonder how long I'll stick with this show. Sentai usually doesn't hold my attention for long. |
Is there anywhere that I can watch it without having to torrent it?

So, yeah. I really liked all of the suit designs and enemy designs, which is enough to get me to want to watch more, but it definitely felt rushed, too flashy, and I still don't like the CGI. Maybe I should just stick to older Sentai.
|
Watching the last train leave... wait there is another one coming in... why is there a dog in it?
Anyways I had fun with the episode had alot of stuff going on and gives me a major shinkenger vibe which... eh its alright i am not big on it but its still cool. overall the episode was fine but the future looks bright for these ninjas who don't hide... i hope there is pizza in the future though. |
Just finished this, I definitely agree with a lot of you guys about the pacing, it's boom, boom, boom. Lol. But I loved it though. Shinobimaru is freaking awesome! And I think this is the first Sentai I've watched where I've liked the ending theme as opposed to the opening, lol.
