But since GARO is more adult and Sentai and Rider are kids show I highly doubt we'll ever see a Crossover sadly. |
GARO Gold Storm Shou Episode 14: Well that was a good clip show. I enjoyed Gald and Ryuuga's scene where Ryuuga is pretty much clueless that Rian has feelings for him. I hope they get more into that storyline by the end. D Ringo's friend is fun and it looks like it'll definitely pick up more from here. Well that was a quick summary and episode, I can't wait for more.

Episode 14
Clip show. Move along, nothing to see here. |

I tend to have more patience for Garo clip shows than others.
This was fine, and I do like how the very end did give us something to lead into the next episode, now they have an idea where Ladan is. Man, I've been enjoying the hell out of Goldstorm. Needs more Daigo though. I was hoping he'd be the secondary knight in all of this, because he got more characterization in the couple of episodes he's had than Crow did all of last year. Hopefully be becomes more of a factor in the second half. I'm also reminded watchign this, that I genuinely love how Jinga's Horror form kinda looks like a deformed Masahiro Inoue, rather than just a monster suit with no link to him. Very well done. |
GARO Gold Storm Shou Episode 15: This was an awesome episode. I enjoyed the set up and all the planning for their attack on the building where Radan is. I enjoyed seeing that Ryuuga went to get Daigo and told him he wasn't ready because he was still hungry for revenge. I also loved that Daigo came to join them later and learned from that and that he wants to make sure that no other children go through anything like the did before again. I just loved all the work the characters did to plan for this and all the character interactions were just wonderful. D Ringo is hilarious with all the weapons and tools he had and having something from Gald's village too. I enjoyed Haruna giving them all pins so she can help them all out to and how she wants to help them even if she can't be there physically and her interactions with Daigo were sweet too. I am excited that we might see Ryume fight too that'll be cool. I hope that there is a possibility that we might get Takeru or Aguri to return for this series but as it continues hope keeps diminishing but it's still there. I seriously can't wait for the next episode it should be a lot of fun. =)

Episode 16: everybody was kung-fu fighting.
I like those action-packed episodes, sole rant I have is Makai Decade and his dark chick are simply as strong as the plot demands. Before, it was a balanced 2 vs 2(3?) and they had always retreat, now it's 2 vs 5 and they wipe the floor with Ryuuga and co. Yeah, I know, toku. Still a great episode. |
GARO Gold Storm Shou Episode 16: Yeah this was a kick ass episode. So much action and fighting it was so brilliant and amazing. Everyone was awesome and I was so happy to see Ryume get in on the action too. I would complain that Jinga and Amily were very powerful however they have been eating more and more horrors since who knows when and we don't know how many they eat off screen so to be fair they should be more powerful than the group. Also it's episode 16 we have like 9 or so more episodes left they have to be defeated and then gain the strength to defeat them. This episode was kick ass and helped move the plot along and had great character moments with everyone too. I love how GARO picks up it gets so intense and amazing. I can't wait for more. =)

I'm a little surprised by how close the show feels to the climax. There are still eight episodes left, but it already feels like we're up to the final showdown. I'm not sure what's going to happen to fill out the rest of the run. I am enjoying the action, but I do agree that Amily and Jinga seem overpowered, especially with Ryume in that fight (as a side note, because of how the original series went I keep waiting for the twist reveal that she's actually evil, despite all the evidence to the contrary; I just don't trust Watch Dogs).

I understand your suspicion, but this Watchdog has done more for her knight than past seasons ones. |

Except Ryume isn't a watchdog though. Everything I've seen elsewhere says she's a Makiai Priest. A very high level one who apparently very old but looks young mind you, but still a Priestess. Granted she's in the watchdog role for the show but she hasn't been acting like the ones we seen previously. She's not giving them orders, even though she letting them know where the threats are. She giving Ryuga and Rain more information than any of th watchdog seen previously. Even when she made the requet that Ryuga and Rain look into thngs when Radan first got unsealed she apologized for potentionally putting them in danger. Acting more like a freind thana superior.

Just caught episode 17. Things are really getting exciting. Zinga and Amiri's backstory was interesting and definitely not what I expected (although it was really obvious what was going to happen to Yuuto the minute they left him in the village). It's nice to finally know what their deal is, even if it came at the expense of Daigo and Gald being totally gullible morons.
The Ryume vs. Zinga fight was really cool. She was more than holding her own in the one-on-one. |
Ep 17.
I really like the Over-Time link's name to the raw: "The Decade show feat. Garo" Well, exposition was expected at some point about Zinga and Amiri. What wasn't expected was indeed that the script needed Ryume go solo, Gald and Daigo being idiots there, that was one peculiar way to handle the mirror's power, the trap she set for Ryuuga will turn against Zinga as the mirror will be obviously broken. From a story point of view, it would have lacked excitement to kill a chained Amiri, a girls only cat fight with Rian and Ryume is certainly to happen. My suspension of disbelief was more than hurted in this episode, because my brain kept screaming "None of you make sense, you idiots !" and my suspension of disbelief is already calibrated for tokusatsu stuff, where giant robots are powered by power of imagination and frienship. |
GARO Gold Storm Shou Episode 17: So no surprises here for me with Jinga and Amily being the ones that killed Haruna and Gald's village however I am totally not pissed off at Jinga and Amily. The villagers were the assholes who murdered their son they had no right to do that, and in hindsight if they didn't do that then the monster would have been defeated and they all wouldn't have died. Still totally like Jinga and Amily's evil origins and intrigued with the dark mirror too. I like how Ryuuga, Daigo, and Gald are all having to hold each other back because they all have similar anger problems. I have no problem with Ryuuga taking care of the darkness in the Mirror; hell the title of the last show makes this no problem for the One Who Shines in Darkness. Ryume is an asskicker and my favorite Watch Dog right now, since she actually does stuff to help out Ryuuga. This definitely feels very close to the end. I wonder how they are going to stretch for another couple episodes? I can't wait for more.

Yeah, this felt far more like episode 23/24 than 17. This is getting the usual 25-episode Garo run, right? Makes me wonder how insane this is going to get once Ladan actually appears, what it's going to look like, what it does...
I bloody knew once Amily started "helping" this was going to end with Japanese Morticia turning on them. To be fair, her and Decade are the most sympathetic villains in a Garo series to date. The others just wanted power (I don't count Eiji because he hadn't truly fallen to darkness, he was just so grief-stricken he thought releasing the "Tears of Messiah" would help). If a bunch of stupid villagers killed your kid, you'd massacre them all too. Sounds less like I initially thought with them, though. I thought with the way Zinga talked about becoming a Horror early on, that he actively sought to become one. The way his backstory was explained here, sounds more like two people accepting the consequences of what they did in their rage, and reigning themselves to their fate of becoming Horrors. Ryume fighting was awesome. I actually quite liked that they essentially went a whole episode without any knights using their armour. TOWSITD did that once or twice, but it came off better here. Talking of priests fighting, this made me want another Tougen no Fue-style film/special. I hope the Bikku movie pulls that vibe off. I wonder was the thing is that Ryuga is going to be fighting though - tried looking at the few frames of it in the preview, could it be a blackened Lost Soul type of thing? This episode, as with every other episode this season, made me sad when I reached the end, because then I knew I'd have to wait a week for the next one. That to me is the mark of something is good. |
You know, for a minute there I actually thought they were going to pull it off, even with everybody conveniently ignoring Amiri. In the end, though, it was obvious that Ladan was going to awaken and lead to the big final battle. I didn't see Rian getting her soul sucked out, though. That was a surprise.
Speaking of surprises, holy crap the black armor is back. I'm not entirely sure what it is now, but it seems to be more of a power-up than a downgrade (and one I want a Figuart of - with cape - now). And it's obviously a thing Ryuga can turn on and off. Like I said, I don't entirely get what its purpose is, but it looks damn cool. This was a really good episode. |
Black Armor? sounds cool, any pics?

O, ok. Thanks for the pic btw. I was figuring it was going to be a completely new form but o well....anyways, thanks again. |
Episode 18 is out. Episode was sick. Ryuga battled off that dark beast in the mirror, escaped and fought off Jinga. Jinga tore down everyone and garos armor lost its shine, produced the Bat Cape that comes with the makai Kado Ryuga version figure and him and Jinga had a nice dragon ball z styled battle in the sky with Garo ultimately pulling off the victory. i wont spoil the rest but my point is the Bat caped Garo appeared and man was it epic. makes me want that version now but its too expensive and im already planning on getting the Kouga version one i. December along with Giru. ...... Must use restraint, must use restraint, must use restraint.....lol

GARO Gold Storm Shou Episode 18: I really enjoyed Ryuuga's descent into despair then find hope again with Rian's help a lot. That it showed that he has darkness in his heart but he's accepted it and found hope again that allowed him to grow stronger. I enjoyed that a lot because I love stories about hope being inspired because a lot of people don't believe in hope and I believe in it greatly. I love the GARO Yami form it looks badass and a nice callback to his last series. I always love that Ryuuga has the Black and Gold form because it's more iconic for him. Love seeing Ryume, Gald, and Daigo fighting them even it is wasn't that successful it's still awesome to see what they can do. I figured it wasn't going to be that easy because we still have about 7 episodes left and well we knew since the beginning Ryuuga was going to end up fighting Radan. Ryuuga's struggle was great as well as his battle with Jinga that was amazing even if it was CGI. I can't wait for more.

episode 19 was very boring, and how come they didnt show zinga's makai knight armor in the other episodes flashback of their turning point, just wasted chance
|
GARO Gold Storm Shou Episode 19: Finally, I am happy that Rian's feelings for Ryuuga are out and he knows! Sorry but I was shipping them since Yami Wo Terasu Mono lol so this makes me happy. I enjoyed seeing Rian fight back against Jinga and needing Ryuuga's help to defeat him. It was returning the favor of when Rian helped Ryuuga in the Mirror to break out of it. Also the one plays Rian plays Jinga just as well as Masahiro Inoue does lol. I enjoyed Daigo and Gald's scenes together, I think they make a great pair and why not team up a Makai Knight and Priest together. Daigo vs Amily is good too I'm sure that'll be continued in the next episode. Honestly I really liked the strength of Rian in her mind and how she learned to get full control of it to hide away Jinga. We are getting closer to the end and I can't wait for more. So much so that I've moved to Over-Time's subs because I grew impatient (actually it fit my schedule better on Monday than Wednesday lol.)

Okay, so this is how the show is going to stretch out to 24 episodes. I'd wondered how they were going to keep Zinga away from Ladan for awhile.
I liked this one; it wasn't the most action-packed episode of Garo ever, but it had some good character moments and Rian's actress did a lot of great work playing both herself and Zinga. I also liked the watercolor filter they used for her mindscape. |
GARO Gold Storm Shou Episode 20: Well I knew they couldn't Jinga away forever, though if it gets rid of Amily then I guess it's a good trade then. I enjoyed Gald a lot this episode and how much respect he has for Rian and how powerful she is to keep Jinga trapped in her mind and that he wouldn't be able to do that. I liked the back and forth between Gald and Daigo about what's most important Rian's life or Stopping Radan; I like that Ryuuga's thinking brought about let's try and purify Rian because if it works it's a win-win for us and if Rian doesn't survive she at least takes Jinga with her. Rian wouldn't want Jinga still around if she could have a say in it. I am excited to see them battle Jinga again but I am just at the point with, just let him become Radan already, though unless he has Amily's powers now he should be much weaker because Amily supporting him is how he had most of the advantage at times. Well I can't wait for more, the final stretch of this season should be interesting.

This was a weird episode to watch. I knew that they were going to fail to destroy Zinga - obviously he's going to come back, take control of Ladan, and set up the big CGI fight for the end of the season. It was clear for the entire episode that the plan to cleanse Rian was going to fail. What did keep me engaged was not knowing how they were going to fail and what was going to ultimately happen to Rian (I assume she's safe, but you never really know for sure).
One thing that I noticed - we've now gone two full episodes with no armor. |

yea True! I personally love when they use armors, i mean thats one of the purposes of the show. I never really like a Knight unless they Drop there armor. I also really keep up with this franchise for the diffrent designs of each knight. Man i just never get tired of Armored Wolf Warriors who can from time to time turn into potentially cooler wolf looking stuff. This is a dream come True. Anyways, wonder if that Makai Armor, Ohga will appear in this show. Would love to seem him in action and they Make A Makai Kado Figure version of him. That would be the shizz!

GARO Gold Storm Shou Episode 21: Well this was an awesome battle between Daigo and Jinga. It didn't last long but it was nice to see and I'm glad Daigo didn't die in it. I can't believe Amily is back too, that sucks but I guess these two aren't going to be that easy to defeat now. I loved the battle of Ryuuga and the others trying to break the barrier and seeing them all work together was awesome. I can't wait to see them battle Amily and Jinga and can't wait to see them be defeated but Jinga is an excellent villain so far. I hope Daigo recovers soon so he can help out in the end too. I love the GARO Yami form it looks so awesome I can't wait to see more of that. Overall, this is picking up and I can't wait for more of the build up to the final showdown against Radan, Jinga, and Amily.

Today in the Makai Decade show feat Garo:
When you stole your girlfriend body, then vomit her into the form of a bloody mess of organs, and she even mad at you, that's true love. |
Oh hey, armor budget, welcome back. Nice to see you again.
Good episode this week with some decent action scenes. Didn't expect to see Daigo get taken down so hard, but I'm glad he's still alive (even though it would be pretty new and ballsy to see a Garo series actually kill off a main Makai Knight). The breaking of the barrier was cool, too, although it felt a bit filler-y. I'd never realized before now that Ryuga doesn't have a horse. I hope this wasn't just a one-time thing. Still loving the black armor as a power-up. Quote:

GARO Gold Storm Sho Episode 22: Really interesting episode. King Zinga is now in control of transformer Radan and Amily literally becomes the beautiful moon that Zinga calls her. I liked the fight scenes in this and D Ringo and Yukihime were actually helpful again for once. I thought it was cool to see a few people that Ryuga and co. helped out, appear to help save the city. I really dig Radan's designs, a kind of dark royalty, flesh, and steam-punk design. Also, Ago (the main villain of the Gold Storm Sho prequel film), has a cameo in this episode
|
GARO Gold Storm Shou Episode 22: This was freaking fantastic, for what seems like a penultimate episode. Does anyone know if this is ending next week because the preview sure felt like it was especially with the episode title of Storm. Anyways back to this episode the action was top notch, every one was fighting and kicking ass; I loved every minute of it. Especially, D Ringo, Haruna, and everyone else in the city fighting back against Radan's attack. Also Radan's look as the giant movie castle was absolutely stunning, that was a beautiful design of darkness and horror. Jinga vs Ryuuga Part whatever was phenomenal again they are great rivals these two I seriously want the guy who plays Ryuuga to come play a villain in a Super Hero Taisen or something and fight Masahiro Inoue as Decade and switch their roles up; I think that would be great. Rian vs Amily was great as well. Ryume and Gald fighting horrors and Radan is awesome, I love that it's a group effort and can't wait for Daigo to come back next episode. This has been one hell of a season and I can't wait for more the next episode should be just as exciting.

Besides some of the fights, i think this series was boring. i liked the other one better. To me, the best garo chapter is the very first one, with Kiba, after that everything else has been meh. The anime was good as well.

Latest episode was good, although clearly had some stuff that makes no sense since the Gold Storm movie isn't fansubbed yet. I'm a little worried by the preview for next week: it screams "clip show!" |
