I have my doubts that they will do anything really "anniversary" like this season. Perhaps a throwback to the older animal series (you know you'd all flip if they had some sort of Gaoranger throwback zord). But seeing as even Ninninger had throwbacks to Hurricanger and Kakuranger, I don't see any Gokaiger-level anniversary celebration. I think we'd see that for 50 years, if the show makes it that far.

I think if it's nothing big number like 50 we might just get the return of current season vs super sentai again

I can kind of imagine something like that combined with the triple dinosaur teamup, where the rangers they get belonged to animal teams.

I guarantee this factored into Toei and Bandai's decision making. Since there are SO MANY animal-themed Sentai teams, having that pool of teams to draw from (like Ninninger draws from past Toei Ninja Heroes) during an anniversary year is a good way to honor the history of franchise in a somewhat organic way.

I'm hoping for an idea like Kickback suggested might happen in his post. A throwback design to Gaoranger, or maybe even Liveman but that might be hoping to much. I would love if they did another Jetman, Liveman, thing where their animals are animal-themed assault vehicles. And no, not go-Busters. Thank you.
But I also hope that they do Gaoranger's aux'mech thing to. Where animals become new arms and legs and such. That'd be awesome to have again for when this comes here for Zord Builder.

I like animals well enough, and while I had hoped for a vehicle-based season, I didn't realise how long it was since we last had animals! That would be cool.

Fourze was the 40th anniversary for Kamen Rider and the anniversary aspect was pretty low key. This one might be similar. That's a good thing, in my opinion.

Color selection perfect? Space? Animals? Beast, King, and Sword? That sounds like a pretty glorious combination to me. Wooooh. I hope this comes to pass.

So far it seems better than Ninninger. I do like the name of the sword but I'll give this a few episodes before I pass judgment on the new season.

Keep in mind when refilling your salt reserves that Dukemon is almost always wrong when reporting on Japanese rumors. And then once he's proven wrong, he finds a way to fit in his old rumors into the new paradigm... in a way that never actually pans out. I know he's just reporting on the Japanese boards' rumors, but I don't think he's good at siphoning out misinformation.

2016 is Olympic year come to think of it.
Heck, if they do go Liveman/Go-onger with the color palette, maybe they could have them as athletes of various sports.
Or just have a safari thing going on and have them pretend to be zookeepers while all the gizmos and gadgets are dormant under the zoo(have robots popping out the aquarium like old-timey robots).
And get Shimura Ken on board the summer movie since he has that variety show where they have celebrities play with animals.
Gosh, I wish they already just had the darn pamphlets out already.

There's barely any information (even if those rumours are right we still know very little) so I won't judge yet but I kind of like them doing a repeated theme if it's going to be a minor anniversary season. As suggested, an animal teamup special would be nice.

I'll just be happy if we have another Dream Sentai this year :)

Should be somewhere around November/December when they start filming.

Sure, there is always a possibility for that to happen.

I doubt they'd reuse "dōbutsu sentai", at least not with the same exact Kanji. Both Barattack and Jetman are Chojin Sentai made by Toei Animation and Toei respectively, but Jetman has the "tori" kanji while Barattack has the "hito" kanji.

I swear japanese can be so confusing with its kanji combos somethines.
