Fair enough, I guess. I still think it's not on the same level as "hey kids, Takeru's dead! Yes again!" but I can see why someone would take issue with it.

Anyway, back to EX-Aid!:
I've been thinking if maybe the new formula might be inspired by Gaim in as far as they might go OTT ridiculous in the designs but treat the plots deadpan as a way to appeal to both older and younger viewers. I mean, even the regular cast wardrobe is fairly kooky this time around. I'm thinking the producers may see it as: the toys are super kid friendly, while the story and absurdity of it all draws in the older viewers who shell out the big bucks for the DX figures.

Of course, this is just speculation, not knowing the sales figures on Gaim merch. It could be a lot like Drive - not too bad, but not too ambitious, either; an above average toy commercial. I know, it's already pushing the envelope with Lv1, but if that's the show's biggest innovation...

(Then again, we might be collectively fooling ourselves because it might be straight goof-troop.)

Just from this one trailer I get a strong Fourze vibe. That was a lighthearted show that got dramatic when it needed to, so...

I'd much rather have it that way, honestly. I still have PTSD from Gaim while Fourze was the most fun I ever had watching week-to-week. I'm more curious about the nature of it as an anniversary series than the tone. Fourze ending up earning that title way more than it looked like it would but they're barely playing it up here.

I like Fourze, that wouldn't be a bad thing.

I'm just excited that it seems to be a multi-rider show. Ryuki and Gaim are both on the darker side, so I would be down for a goofy one.

No matter how badass those two other riders think they are...I can imagine their faces when they finally passed the National Medical Licensing Board Examination (known as the 'Kokushi') after many years in high school and university

I hope the heroes will stay in Level 2 throughout the series. The level 1 forms look silly.

The chibis are essentially Kabuto Masked, and the first designs we saw of these characters were Level 2

I'm pretty sure the STG is for ShooTing Game. Part of his activation music even goes "Bam! Bam! Shooting!!!" when they zoom up on his face in the trailer.

After watching the trailer subbed, I do look forward to the show. Like most Rider shows, I will watch up to six episodes to see how far I want to go (That's at least three hours of watching). I give up on Ghost because I didn't like the characters and story. I did give Drive a second chance and I still didn't like it.

I hope this show will make me want to watch the series again every week like I was with W-Gaim.

The only thing that I don't like is the Level One suit. It looks way to clunky to me. I hope that after the first few episodes it doesn't get used again. The rest of the show looks okay, but I'll have to wait to see the show to form any final judgement.

Agreed. The only reason I'll give Ghost another try is cos I saw the crossover with Jyouhger, his enhanced form.

I'm surprise there no "In your face" Comic Relief like Chief Honganji or Another Onari character.

I’m pretty sure Ex-Aid will have a similar character because of course it will. I just hope they can have some comedy going on with the Level-1 suits because even though they’re kinda stupid I’d rather see the slapstick handled with suit acting.

And you know, there’s that small chance the comedic relief character is actually useful like the gang from Gaim was. And even the SIU from Drive had their moments, they were not as bad as Onari.

It's interesting to me that everybody here hates Onari, but every single friend of mine that I've had watch Ghost thought he was hilarious.

Onari got "Americans Hate Tingle" treatment from western fans. He was popular among Japanese Fans but unpopular among Westen Fans
