For Showa Figuarts renewals, I hope Shin Ichigo a retail release. I wonder if the others will be renewal soon as well. Black and Black RX already been renewal, so I don't think they should get a new renewal release anytime soon.

Shin Ichigou looks pretty nice, but I'll live with the one I already have, even if it is obsolete, and I want the new Nazca and Skull~

I've never been a big fan of hidden joints. It means the plastic will be thin to allow it to flex, which makes it a lot easier to crack, and if it stiffens, then you'd be SOL.

Another thought: interesting that they're previewing (or at least teasing) Nazca rather than Weather. Isn't he the W villain that gets promoted most often in video games? (Perhaps Battride War is throwing me off.)

Doesn't make any difference. Contrary to what everyone thinks, Shinkocchou Seihou isn't a "renewal" line, its a line employing better sculpting technology than the mainline to create a product that looks more like a suit and less like a toy.

From what I've perceived Black is a hot seller in Japan so if Tamashii think they can improve on it, they will regardless of how old the other figure is.

Pretty much this. That's exactly why we don't call them renewals generally when reporting on them. Because while the concept is similar, the goal and process are different.

I, personally, say "Renewal" because Shinkocchou Seihou is hard to remember. :/

Dang, was hoping for like..from the first part of the series. Still looks good though, and if we don't get a better representation of that first suit I may just have to go with this one.

It's not surprising though, this suit is Bandai's official appearance of Ichigo whenever he appears nowadays (aside from his upgrade in the 2016 movie), so it’s the one most people are familiar with.

And "true bone carving process" sounds kinda illegal.

Hm, this is very interesting. Since the goal of SH Figuarts is "screen accuracy," something like this was inevitable. I'm eager to see how actual figures in the NEXT line will look. Hopefully we'll see some actual concepts soon.

Yeah, that's pretty much the most recognizable form. Which makes sense, because that's how he looked for most of the show (when he was in the show, anyway). So it being the first is both expected and unsurprising.

It's a shame though, this sort of stuff with the Showa Riders does kinda sucks for guys like me who want the first forms more. Same thing with Skyrider. The upgraded forms of both of these (also Nigou) are the more popular and recognizable forms, and thus the ones most likely to see release in...basically anything, really.

I'm amazed Amazon's first form is the one that gets used in everything, considering. His second form has never even had the Figuarts treatment that I know of.

But hopefully the popularity of Ichigou means his other forms will also get made. Probably too much to hope for that they'll be at retail, but I can hope.

Oh I don't doubt there could be problems with Bandai attempting this. This can't be easy to pull off, and "successful" results could still prove mediocre (maybe avoiding cracking/tearing, but posability could still be hindered). I just don't see the logic in automatically assuming this will turn out badly. I'd rather wait for in-hand results instead of dismissing it out of hand.

While it was a S.I.C. exclusive form it is known as Pre-Amazon. A precursor to his standard form, it lacks the Gigi armlet. Because of this, 3 days after use the the user will die if they can't obtain the armlet again. It's about 1/3 as powerful as his standard form as well. Amazon Alpha is also primarily based on this form.

Yeah, sometime after he gets a shirt, the suit's chest is changed from yellow to red. It's never really acknowledged in show, and it's not really a different "form" in that it has different attributes, it's just aesthetic. But it is, well, still different. Most of the merchandise you see, and whenever he pops up in later stuff nowadays, it's the original yellow chest version.

King Joe! Very nice to see this. KJ was always one of my favorite Ultra monsters, and Gomora is quite nice too. Hope these do well and we get a Red King soon.

Nothing really interesting to me in the Rider department, although I gotta admit I would probably buy that Hongo if it wasn't just for display.
Speaking of display only, that Dragon Ranger makes me sad. I still really think they should re-release the MMPR figuarts. But I know they won't, or at least they'll make them glossy or something because of some ridiculous rule. Blah, I just can't see sentai at an event and not get frustrate and disappointed.

But moving on, more Gavan. I'm still really on the fence about this. I really wish they took the Juspion approach and made it all silver paint. I mean I guess that could change, but I don't see it happening. Dolgiran looks awesome, but why are all the display only pieces my favorite parts? :lol

SS Ichigo, not at all surprised this is happening. I don't have a Shin Ichigo, and SS versions don't look horribly out of place next to most standard figuarts so I might go for it. Kinda curious if he'll fit better with Aka.

Skull isn't a surprise either, though I'm not sure if I'll pick him up. It really just comes down to timing and price, which I know is going to be pretty high for the most part. I really love the design and all...but I don't $60+ like it. Still, nice to see it.


Poster Mecha Godzilla...this is weird, but also kinda cool. I love the idea behind it, I love the idea of getting into something off beat like that. That said, the actual execution does leave something to be desired. The detailing is honestly vague in terms of accuracy. In any case, it's not something for me, but I am fascinated by it and would like to see if it goes anywhere. Not necessarily like a poster Space Godzilla or Destroyah, but things outside the realm of screen monsters. Like say King Godzilla. But perhaps that's a stretch. Then again I'd say going through the trouble of dong a sculpt of a bloody poster design before Showa MG was a stretch.

With SS versions of Heat/Metal and Skull coming, I wonder what the chances of Eternal getting the treatment too.

Pretty much guaranteed to happen at some point since it's the same body as Double and Skull, only needs a new head, the cape and the extra Memory Slots.

Honestly I’m a bit surprised we got to see Accel before Eternal just because Accel needs a lot more new parts. But I guess they wanted to mix it up a bit. And who knows when these even come out; maybe Eternal will be released before Accel.

I'm glad we got Accel, though, as he's a better and more prominent character than Eternal.
