Toei really wanted to make collecting all the Kyutama as much of a pain in the ass as possible didn't they? I pray for the poor soul who is still attempting to collect all the Kyutama...

I was planning to do so but I abandoned that idea fairly quickly once some of the issues presented themselves

The impossible happened! CSToys received the Pegasus Kyutama! A rather large amount in fact.

I got a response back from HLJ
they are waiting to see how many they get or if they will get any before deciding about the Promo

I see. Honestly, even though CSToys has the Kyutama, I wonder if I even want to go through the hassle of getting it. This seems like way to much trouble for a single Kyutama.

I agree it seems a lot of hoops to jump through, I'm guessing there is a supply issue with the Kyutama as HLJ implies that they are waiting to hear from the supplier to see about quantity numbers
I hoping to get a definite answer when they know for sure and I'll post it if I get it but still

My chances of getting that are pretty much none existent. I've got Kyu the Weapon and the Seiza Blaster. I think I'm done with DX items, save for possibly future Kyutama sets.

Late news, but Amazon JP was a no on the Pegasus Kyutama. According to them it was a promotion for local stores only. They helpfully pointed out someone selling the Pegasus Kyutama on their site for around $90, though even they commented that seemed like an excessive price. :D

So CSToys are the only ones doing this? That's pretty interesting.

Unless someone like Nippon-Yasan had some it looks that way. Or, I suppose, if HLJ ended up just chucking some in orders without telling anyone.

For 90 quid you could make a whole load of Kyutamas yourself lol
And when HLJ did the Proto Action x Gashat they put a post on their announcement page
No announcement about Pegasus so not sure if they will do it quietly or at all

Did anyone manage to get a Pegasus from CSToys? I swallowed my ire with them because I wanted one really badly and despite purchasing a valid item and getting my order in on time, as evidenced by all the people after me who got one, no Pegasus Kyutama. I shouldn't have let my resolve waver. I am doomed trying to order from them. Oh well, off to pay ridiculous secondary market prices.

When did you buy from them? While it started on March 18 in Japan, it didn't start until March 19 8 PM JST for them.

The implication is that this was meant to be a local brick and mortar campaign not on online one as HLJ and CStoys had no problems running the Ex Aid Eyecon or Proto Action X Gashat but this time there seems to be supplier issues to online places, I think CS has a brick and mortar location which is maybe why they got some in

On another note, Kyuren-Oh and Kyu Weapon arrived today and I'm not quite sure what to make of them or if I like them and was just curious about other people's opinions on them
I wasn't planning on buying either one but a stupid misunderstanding on my part about the Kyutamas led to me preordering them

I like it. The glittery blue plastic is absolutely beautiful and the fact that its nine modes in one make it even better. Some of the modes leave a bit to be desired but overall I really like it. I love transforming weapons though, so that's to be expected. The fact that they were able to fit 9 weapons into a three piece toy impresses me to no end.

The Rapier does leave a lot for sure it's like a drinking straw lol
The starry effect on the plastic is neat but I do think it could have been sized up just a little, it fits well in my hand I don't usually go for weapons I've strictly stayed to henshin items and drivers
Kyu Weapon and Kyuren-Oh are my first Mecha/Weapon respectively and I'm still unsure if the experiment for me has worked lol

Same for me as well. While I bought the Ghost Drive last year, I didn't really make an effort to start collecting toys till about a couple of months ago so Kyu the Weapon is also my first weapon. I haven't been collecting for very long but I already find myself favoring Henshin items, collectibles, and Vinyls over everything else. Given how much focus I place on characters in Tokusatsu, I can see my self just picking my favorite character and getting everything associated with them rather then trying to pick up everything that releases. Individual hero Toku typically do appeal more to me then Toku focused on a team of heroes.

My KyurenOh is coming very, very slowly so I haven't had the opportunity to mess around with it yet. The cockpit set will get here long before the actual robo does. I managed to snag a Pegasus Kyutama for about $12 from YJA. I wish I'd just gone that route in the first place.

I did decide to send an email to CSToys, which was a situation I was just planning to ignore, because I scored one elsewhere and it didn't seem worth complaining about, until they posted another batch of packaging pics of people who ordered after me and got one. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to get it and if they had just run out it would be one thing, getting shafted is something entirely different. :shrug:

How does YJA work?

By all the evidence, or at least the pictures they posted of packing, yes. But I'm hoping it's not the case and there was just an error somewhere. I'll post when I get a reply to my email. I'd be fine having to eat crow on this one.

You need a proxy service to buy from YJA. I use Buyee, even though they can be a bit pricey on fees. I needed someone after Yokatta disappeared and YJA actually recommended foreigners use Buyee on the site. It's virtually identical to eBay, especially through their native interface and I like that they released a browser add-on to let you shop at Amazon JP for things that wouldn't normally get sent overseas and then complete the purchase through Buyee's site. Like Mandarake, Japanese search strings usually are the way to go. I've gotten a lot of, probably too much, stuff from there over the last few years. :lol

Edit: Email follow-up: According to them my Pegasus Kyutama was added after the video/pictures were taken and the staff realized they forgot it. They then also forgot to tell me. Although I expect my somewhat checkered history with them led me to assume the worst it was not warranted in this case. They did not 'stick it to me' as I had surmised. They are, in fact, awesome folks this time around.

Buyee's actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it. You can see a pretty high level overview here. I also threw together a quick PDF for getting started not that long ago if you're ever interested in taking a look. It's pretty linear so you don't get the option overload that can overwhelm on the site itself.

As for the Pegasus, they forgot but fixed it before it mailed. Unfortunately none of that was communicated to me so I assumed the worst. Thankfully, I was wrong. They were pretty darned nice about my inquiry, too. I'll probably have to reconsider my self-imposed ban on them.

Glad you were able to get it! I was considering trying my luck since they had gotten more DX Cockpit sets in but I didn't want to overspend this month so I passed. Haha.

I'd almost forgotten there was no DX Kyutama set this month.

Which is lame. Wish there were a lot more of those...also no SG set this month, pretty lame.

Recently put in an order for the first two SG sets, and I'll probably ship out the two DX sets soon too...hopefully I'll finally have some spaceballs in hand in a few weeks.

Yeah it's weird that they didn't throw a dx set in this month considering they aren't waiting on the show to release them.

Do you know if you'll have any duplicates in your SG sets? I'm trying to get my hands on Karasu and chameleon and would buy them off you if you decide to sell them. I really wish HLJ would have sold the SG sets :,/

I won't be getting the belt or the transformer for him I don't think, I already have the Kyu buckle so I don't need another one and I can get his Kyutama from Ryu Voyager so I won't need the morpher really unless his Kyutama doesn't work in the Seiza or has different sounds

Also forgot to ask, is there any difference between collecting the all in one mecha set or the individual releases
I already have Sasori Voyager so I don't see the point in having two just for Ryuteioh all to come in one box but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything by doing that

Is meant to be a campaign item bought with any DX Voyager during golden week
Which means I've most likely missed out now depending on how the campaign is run or if any other items qualify
Which I pray was run better than Pegasus was

Dang, well HLJ is always a toss up when it comes to bonuses like that. Sometimes they even sell it on its own which is unfortunate but will still be cheaper than most aftermarket places. I hope you can get your hands on one. Make sure to post pictures of your growing collection; I'm going to have to live vicariously through the kyutama collectors on this site lol.
