Remeinder first sentai in korea to be under the power ranger name when they started to dub them was Abaranger with was also called dino thunder in korea but they dubbed the sentai. the actual amerincan pr that was dubbed in korean was wild force under the name power force ranger

Yes they actually dubbed Wild Force and then years later they dubbed Gaoranger. Both under the Power Rangers name. Now that's got to be confusing.

It must be I mean gaol uses the same zord unless they tried gaol and a sequel show or some thing as it Aird instead of shinkenger

It may be a second season, but it's also their own adaptation. THey may do things differently. In case you didn't watch the clips on the twitter account, Gold starts off a villain. Doesn't seem to follow the ending of the first season.

Also, something minor but kind of nifty: I remember a little while back when the trailers for Chou Super Hero Taisen first came out, someone spotted that Dogold had a different head. What do you know, they're using the Korean retool for the suit. I wonder if that means that Dino Force Brave is part of Japanese Toku-verse now....

Kyoryuger? It's one of my favorite shows, and clearly beloved by a lot of people. I suspect the English-speaking fandom is small enough that it's hard to accurately generalize.

Staff news!

Ninninger's head writer is doing the scripts. Gaim and Ninninger's producer, Naomi Takebe, is producing the show along with Shinichiro Shirakura. (produced most of the early Heisei shows as well as Amazons, has a pretty high position at Toei now)

So we have a Japanese crew working with a Korean cast for a Korean production. This'll be interesting. :lol

Working on a Japanese show using an American branding...yeah makes my head hurt too.

And my interest in this has been halved. Granted, 12 episodes is way different from 49, but with how much of a chore it was to get through Ninninger as a whole with all the constant filler and squandered development, it's like my hype levels were chopped with an axe...

So, thing about Kento Shimoyama is that he's actually done some fantastic episodes in the past. This is the reason a lot of people who follow staff news were initially excited when he was announced. He did the two tiny enemy episodes of Go-Busters, the really funny JAKQ episode from Gokaiger, and has done a lot of Gintama's best episodes.

I'm hoping Ninninger was a major fluke and he's still got it in him to head up a Sentai series.

I think Ninninger sucked because the writer is forced to write based on the producer's demand or something.

That being said I'm not watching this. Hated Kyoryuger anyway.

Thanks for the shot of optimism, since a shiver ran down my spine when I heard he was head on Ninninger. It was such a strange show, given that its long-term plotting was incredibly weak, but it had strong filler episodes, and a couple of short-but-good arcs.

After I started writing this, I went and started pawing through individual Ninninger episode credits, and it looks a lot like he's responsible for many of Ninninger's best episodes in addition to being to blame for its worst. I know some writers are reluctant to plan too far ahead given the zillion episode commitment and the endless stream of toys that must be worked into the plot. Since this is a shorter series, more or less a quarter of the length of most Sentai, that might not be a factor. And he was bright enough to start focusing more on Kinji and Kasumi once it became apparent that they were the best actors in the group.

The rest of the crew for the show looks like they've got very good credits under their belts. I think I'm going to go the benefit-of-the-doubt route.

I was kind of expecting a Kyoryuger cameo in the next Sentai film to basically insert the DF Brave stuff to sell Brave Kyoryujin in Japan, but not this.

I think the chance that Figuarts will briefly dip its toes back into the water of Sentai just got dramatically more likely. (I don't think they can resist the chance to re-use existing molds with slight paint adjustments.)
