Eep! My apologies. I wasn't paying attention, and I think I automatically assume people's user icons reflect their gender which... actually doesn't follow at all, does it?

I liked Wizard, too, to some extent. I've told a couple of friends that I felt it was a perfect Kamen Rider show, so long as you only watch a couple of episodes. (I haven't yet figured out whether it might secretly be a great show if you eliminate most of the filler.) It had a great suit design, terrific action sequences, a cool theme, a good cast... it had all the foundations for an excellent Kamen Rider show.

Build... I mean goodness knows. Will we get a veteran toku writer, or will they continue the trend of experimenting with creators newer to the franchise? Will it suffer from excessive filler, or will it manage to pull off the pacing of something like Gaim and Ex-Aid? (Drive was just strange: it seemed to be failing with excessive filler and a bloated supporting cast, then had an very strong final third.)

UGH. I'm back to my annual, "UGH, I hope it's good" mindset.

So, who would you want to see writing Build? I know I DON'T want anymore trips to the INOUE ZONE but, he seems to have retired from the franchise since bombing The Next. Well, I know he'd never do a series but I'd love a Hirohiko Araki guest episode. Speaking of Jojo's, Miike would be a coup to direct.

As for the question, I'm never not up for Kobayashi, but she just wrote Amazons, so I suppose I'm good for now. This may be an extremely unpopular opinion, but I would honestly love to see Inoue get another chance in the head writer seat. Considering all the changes in producers and the like since Faiz and Kiva (as much as he in particular exemplifies it, brooding melodrama was kind of Rider's thing back in the 2000's), I genuinely think he could produce a great show, if his leash is being properly held.

As long as it is not Yonemura fine by me. Heck bring Sanjo back.

As long as the writer isn't Kobayashi or Urobuchi I'm fine with seeing a previous writer return. Heck, even Inoue, haha no who am I kidding, not him either.

Inoue wrote Agito and Gokaiger. The guy can do good Toku, so give him some credit at least.

He did ONE episode of Gokaiger and you could argue that Black Condor was the thing that made the episode great.

Agito is great and proof Inoue can be good. The problem is everything he's been head writer of after Agito has been garbage.

Third, to be clear, for as many years as I've wanted Inoue to do another show, I kinda know in my heart the odds of me regretting that wish if it comes true are pretty high.

But screw it, as long as it isn't so horrendously awful it somehow kills the franchise, we can afford a year going down the drain. I mean, think about it guys, if it's straight up Kiva levels of bad, I might actually agree with everyone that it sucks! That'd be fun for a year, right?!

I was just thinking yesterday that although I found Kiva to ultimately be a failure, it was an *interesting* failure with crammed with unfulfilled potential. Ghost, by comparison, had little potential (crap gimmick, extreme reluctance to capitalize on the "ghost" part) but managed to put out a couple of good arcs before deflating like the world's most disappointing soufflé. I know you loved the show due to its use of theme, but I want to kill it with fire. It's the only way to be sure.

I'd be 100% okay with Urobuchi returning for Build, but I can't imagine a scenario in which that would realistically happen. Also, my suspicion is that because Ex-Aid has gone pretty dark, Build will attempt to overcompensate by being light and jokey.

He did write it together with Hiroshi Fujioka though ( who hated how Hongo was used in Showa vs Heisei)

I don't want Riku Sanjo back. I find him to be a weak writer and he has done good show (W) in my opinion. Not even his anime track record is good (He did wrote MD Geist and Digimon Xros Wars).

I liked his work on W and Kyoryuger. I agree he is not perfect but if he can bring back the magic he had with those shows fine by me.

I love Sanjo's work on Drive and Kyoryuger. I really just want the writer of Ex-Aid to continue lol.

Sometime in July I'd imagine. There have been some exceptions but usually the next rider makes his debut in the summer movie of the current one, which releases in August.

Build was confirmed to appear in Ex-Aid True Ending so it's August when we see footage at the very least in the opening

It's his claim to fame. Taniguchi who plays Kamen Rider Amazon Alpha in Amazons said during the 1st season press conference that he saw the chapel set around the time GogoV wrapped. Taniguchi was so shocked thinking it was the aftermath of a fire accident gone horribly wrong but later learned that it was for the new Kamen Rider revival Kuuga. He apparently was dumbfounded having played a superhero who was all about putting out fires and taking care of disasters for a year and then seeing THAT. :lolol

I figured that was implied by the "(actual) Hibiki" phrasing right before that bit. When I ask for more Hibiki I definitely don't mean "make another beautiful, one of a kind show and then stomp the spark out of it by sending it on a one-way trip into the Inoue Zone (if I may borrow that term)".

Also, as an addendum to my previous statement, more Agito would be an acceptable compromise. :p

Well, as ever, KR is a work for hire deal and whomever is writing is at the mercy of the producers and, of course, the toy line. That we get anything even remotely watchable is a damn wonder - anything classic is a near miracle.

Really? I don't remember much of Wizard but what I do remember doesn't really give me a Hibiki vibe. Then again, I haven't seen Wizard in almost three years at this point and Hibiki since around Christmas time 2016 so forgive me if my memories on those shows are a bit fuzzy.

True but isn't that part of the adventure? Besides, as plenty of shows have shown us before, a good writer won't be hindered by toys. In fact, sometimes they enhance it.

Takadera was also Chief Producer on Carranger, Megaranger, and Gingaman. And he was also responsible for Kobayashi's transition to Super Sentai, who happened to debut as main writer for Super Sentai with Gingaman. The problem with him is that everything has to be unique, which is why he probably bled Toei dry with all those beautiful filming locations during the first 29 episodes of Hibiki. Seems that after Daimajin Kanon flopped he has not been on the director's chair holding a megaphone ever since which kinda sucks given his talent.

Tis the fate of a true artist I suppose. Nobody understands that sometimes, you just got to go the extra mile and burn down that chapel made just for that one episode. Oh well. I'd love to see how he'd handle modern toy trends though.

There wwould probably be a lot more or a lot less. And by that I mean he would probably find a way to make everything more important. Or cut things down so that they can be more important.
