I really like when they take the show in a direction thats the best possible show, not necessarily a straight translation. I'll check it out which ever way, but there's always the sentai to watch. Sometimes the direct translation works well, other times it fall flat. Same thing for make it its own thing. But if they wanna tie it in to other seasons, go for it. Personally I think since at least Dino Charge, the adaption has been pretty solid, though I haven't check many of the sentai either. I kept hoping that Gobusters would show up in Super Mega Force (ugh) as a rival/evil team for a mini arch. I think there was a rumor of that with them as like space bounty hunters or mercs or something.

The thing is if they keep the two year series, the y'll just end up skipping more and more stuff, not that they've gone back to this one. And Go-Busters doesn't have as much stuff even if they pad out with the Dobutsu movie exclusive rangers...

And yes I want to see that adapted.
I know! What's next a crossover with My Little Pony? A Leopardon toy? Bringing back VR Troopers and Big Bad Beetleborgs? Doing two series in a year? The next Sentai being Transformeranger? I don't even know.

Kamen Rider might prove to be a good choice for Hasbro as well. Think of all the action figures they could make for just Double alone.

If they actually do adapt Kamen Rider, I hope they go back a few years and don't just start at Build or Ex-Aid. Its entirely likely now, actually.

Sadly we know this won't happen. Saban is still in charge. And Toei is going to continue acknowledging Ishinomori's wish of Saban never touching Kamen Rider ever again.

Even then, Time Force changed a significant amount of stuff (Ransik, his relation with Nadira, Frax not being the main villain by the end). For the most part, Samurai was a clunky, direct translation.

Mach Kick would only work for Pinkie and AJ. Battle Unicorn for Rarity and pre-Princess Twi. As for the Pegasuses...Uh...Yup.

So interesting question someone else raised on another forum. After so long, just what kind of shape are the monster costumes going to be in? Even if you aren't using them they do degrade over time.

And it may very well be. But the proof is in the pudding. Saban has copyrighted the name, but never put anything forward. There's something keeping it from happening. Aside from the fact that everyone will call it a Power Rangers rip off and it failing as a result.

This is amazing news. I always said that GoBusters mecha looked more like transformers than zords. It only makes sense that Hasbro would prefer to adapt GoBusters for their toys.

Annuga isn’t a fan. What’s considered the “best” to one person can be the “worst” to someone else. I haven’t watched Jetman myself, so I can’t say whether I like it or not.

Toei has done things with Kamen Rider far goofier than Masked Rider was.

I want to believe "Beast Morphers" is a reference to how the mecha have both vehicle and animal modes that they transform (AKA morph) between, and not just the most generic name in PR history.

That and the fact that their individual superpowers resemble their motifs. I think it is alright. Could have been better but not bad.

Not making Zord toys would mean cutting Zords from the show, which is literally impossible. Zords are the entire crux of the show as well.

But maybe Hasbro will release the Megazord in separate parts.
Like the Cheetah Zord will be released by itself due to its triple-changing gimmick while the Gorilla and Rabbit/Hare Zords will be packed together since they only have two modes to transform into (not including the Megazord).

If I'm not mistaken, that's what they did for Go-Busters, so it's entirely likely.

Hasbro probably wants something different and Go-Busters with its leather-composed suits was definitely different! Centering on PR toys that don't look like PR toys so they can get their feet wet!

I mean, decades of quality childrens shows in both the animated and live-action prove you wrong, and some of that even includes Power Rangers. Its not like all Japanese shows, or even all Toku, is good. You watch Kiva? Kiva's bad.

Yo, Samurai is a direct copy of of Shinkenger, word by word, scene by scene. It's obvious you're not even watching the show (although some would argue it's a good thing).


By the way, Go-Busters emphasizes a lot on its mecha battles, I think that's what leads Hasbro to adapt it.

ugh no. why would you want PR to be a carbon copy of sentai? i always prefer them to be original and creates their own lore. if i wanted to watch a sentai story, id watch the sentai.

i once had this kind of "purist" mentality until one day i remembered what got me into toku in first place: none other than power rangers. been rewatching some old seasons and it hit me how they used to be really creative and able to tell a whole different and interesting story back then. hell, for example i found rpm to be more enjoyable than go-onger, which i instantly dropped in episode 7 due to how overtly boring and episodic that series was.

besides a scene to scene, word to word carbon copy would NOT work very well. remember: cultural difference. you see Samurai as example. it came off as real awkward due to how heavy the japanese theme of Shinkenger was and in result it didnt translate really well to the western side.

Jetman's monsters are ridiculous.

But why isn't Jetman good? Is it now in vogue to not like Jetman after it was thought of very favorably by fans for years? Jetman is among the best shows in Sentai at fleshing out its heroes, making them unique and distinct from each other, the "misfits forced to learn to work together" in contrast to the villains who do the opposite. Yasku Kobayashi, while she didn't write Jetman, has done similar fleshing out in her shows (Gingaman, Timeranger, Shinkenger, etc).

Next I'll start seeing posts about how Agito is overrated and not a good show.

Chip Lynn is on record as saying he didn't see GoBusters as a potential sequel to RPM because "RPM was dark" and "GoBusters was more fun". I wouldn't get our hopes up too high for an RPM sequel. Maybe a PREQUEL? lol. No, just I don't think they're going that direction so I wouldn't put ANY hope on it personally.
