Considering how fast these Ridewatches are selling out I really feel like I'll miss out on the Gaim one :(

DX Ex-Aid Ridewatch:

As far as I can tell Ex-aid and Ryuki were up for pre-order for maybe 10 minutes lol. Here's the links for when they hopefully go back up. Also, the Build ride watch is currently in stock and searchable on HLJ. The two pre-orders are unfortunately only accessible through direct link and maybe a google search. Enjoy.

Oh, wow. The Gashapon Ridewatches don't have the turning gimmick. Nor does the watch button work- it's just a button on the side that does everything (name -> info -> henshin sound -> Time Break).
So when you put the GP Ridewatch into the belt, be sure to cycle past the Rider info. Otherwise, the sound timing'll be messed up (such as a henshin sound being played during a Time Break). |
Heavily considering getting RKF Build and Cross-Z considering I'm looking into smaller figures recently -- not to mention they're only £11 each on HLJ.

Also interesting, but I'm not sure if it's documented elsewhere, you can also put in the other Riders' Watches (I only have Build) upside-down on the right-side, and you'll get a RIDER TIME henshin ending with the same sound jingle as the ARMOR TIME. So you can have "RIDER TIME Build ARMOR TIME Geiz" if you wanted |

That said, they're not exactly sacrificing much else! The paint on the drivers and weapons are still unfortunately lacking, but the range of articulation and the inclusion of different hands is very much a welcome change. I'm looking forward to seeing just how nice Build/Cross-Z will be. |

Rider Kicks Zi-O and the Build Armor showed up today. The base figure is... okay? It's comparable to other retail figures. There's no paint on the back side of the figure, or the Jikan Girade. He comes with a single swappable hand. He does not have the jointed hands from the past several Rider retail lines, but I don't consider that to be a great loss.
One of what I'd considered to be the upsides of retail figures has been "well, at least they don't require stickers." That all changes here, with three stickers, all for the chest of different sides. Athough most of the back of the armor is unpainted, the thighs at least have some color. The Armor Time gimmick, allows more movement than I would've imagined. The most surprising element is that there's still some worthwhile neck articulation with the mask in place. The masks for Zi-O and Geiz are separate pieces, so it's not restricted by that. You *can* plug the shoulders into the upper arms for a more cohesive look (or stand-alone mode), but they can be unhooked to allow for surprising freedom of movement. Even with the armor on, the elbows can do a nearly 90-degree bend. Everything on the armor can be unhooked from everything else, so movement is really pretty good. Getting stand-alone armor mode to hold together can be a little challenging. If you can manage it, however - and if you squint - you can display Zi-O and Geiz Build Armor next to each other. I dunno how deep I'l go into this line. The size means it can't even serve in my Rider display as a rough stand-in until the Figuarts version is released. I think there's something I absolutely hate about the design of Zi-O as concept that's kind of crystallized by these. With Decade, you had the hero taking on the forms, powers, and movesets of previous Riders. With Zi-O, previous Riders are abstracted down so that Build is just "the one with the drill" and Ex-Aid is just "the one with the hammer." |

Man, The Fourze Watch both looks and sounds great.
Although, weren't we supposed to get the Faiz Watch in September? I thought it was Faiz in September and Fourze in October, but I may be wrong. Also, I guess with the appearance of the Wizard and Genm Armors in the October scans means that both of their releases got moved up to October rather than November. |
|
The original toy catalog leaks did say Faiz September, Fourze October, guess they just swapped them.
Tiny thing someone else has probably already noticed; Another Ridewatches don't have a rotation feature even in the show, so maybe we'll get them as Gashapon releases (we got things like pre-conversion versions of the lost bottles)? The alternative is premium bandai - Ghost did that with the Ganma Eyecons. |

Continuing its weird completionism, we're getting Ryuki Ride Armour as a So-Do figure. No word on Hibiki, Den-O or Kabuto yet though. |

Unfortunately, the blog post seems to say that they have no idea if Ryuki will ever be appearing in the show, but they're doing the suit anyway

Assuming 49 episodes, and at least half or more of that has to be MOTW material. That means bare minimum we'll get at least 15 another riders, with likely upwards of 25 at the least if they double up some like Fourze/Faiz was. But that also depends on revenues and ratings. (Not counting movies or specials!) Marketing will leave people wondering though, and questioning it to keep people talking and guessing to induce demand. But with all the forms we got in Build, and how they removed his "Rider Legacy" forms, odds are high we will get a lot to near all. We're only at episode 7 right now, so they can't exactly say whatever details(especially since those episodes aren't written yet, let alone filmed!). Though it does look like by the time the episodes reach double digits, they'll start accelerating the story too. Again, depends on ratings, revenues, and their audience reception. Like Hibiki and other series, the show could always have a major shift based on tweaking it to generate better revenues if needed. But so far that doesn't look like the case. Though that also means we may not get all the forms as Ride Watches from another riders though. They could speed that up in a different way like how Geiz had Ghost's Ride Watch already. But based on the premise, to "re-write time" by either having the ride watch or the Another Rider, to 'erase' all heisei they do have to have either or both. But again, depends on the story and how it progresses. |
I can't see main Heisei riders not appearing in the show, even if badly done. I'm sure they'll find -some- way to do a Ryuki tribute episode.

Out of curiosity, does anyone have any creative ways to display Ride Watches?
I only have Zi-O, Geiz and Build so far (and they're just sitting flat on a shelf), but I was originally thinking of making a panel with the slider grips/clips (like on the Ziku Driver) so that I can essentially wall-mount the Ride Watches. The only problem is that because the Ride Watches slide in from the side, I'll need at least one Ride Watch's width worth of spacing/clearance between each one in order to give myself enough room to put one in or take one out... |
There's going to be a display rack like in the show, it's in pieces, sold one layer at a time that you can add with more. One row holds six Ridewatches with a seventh on the top in the middle.
On another note, I got the Cross-z Ridewatch, but I can't get the battery cover off... Driving me crazy. All I know is that I need a pen. |

In short, I'm hoping to put together something more like an armory display (where I can see everything at once), rather than a Christmas-tree-style display. :) |
Could do a plywood row with notches to slide the Ridewatches into, and make more when needed. Best of all, wall mount!
