Finally got my pre-order in, now I can rest easy :D
|
That was a nightmare but oml I just got it through HLJ. I can rest easy now
|
It's days like these I really miss FigInStock.
Edit: Snagged one at N-Y. Whew. |
Reposting from the general Figuarts thread:
I got it on HLJ. I was lucky enough to think of doing a manual search within a couple minutes of it going up, since they never put it on the main page. It took a while though, probably because they were getting blasted with orders, but each step of the ordering process took nearly a minute to process. |
I missed out.
AmiAmi servers crashed, by the time I got the page it was sold out there and everywhere else. I saw the pre-order button once, but could't complete the order, they didn't let me. First time that ever happened, I was really thinking I had him once he was in my cart. Guess I look at HLJ every day now, they open up frequently because most people cancel their orders there first. I feel awful, this sucks. Never had this happen before... |
I've never seen a figure cause so much havoc before today.
|
Not even surprising. Pretty sure Kiva preorders went the same way.

Wish I'd waited a little bit longer before going back to bed. For some reason I thought it wouldn't be up on HLJ for a few hours after Amiami, didn't think it would only be a few minutes later. Also probably should have tried more than just two sites before going back to bed, but I was so tired after barely sleeping the night before

That sounds hilarious. And much more kid-friendly than the other desire I had earlier today… nuking AmiAmi from orbit... ;) |
Thouroughly missed out and N-Y still has my pay for pre-orders later optin bared on my accoun till the summer, way past the point of pre-ordering OOO being viable, plus I can't afford a pay for pre-order as I didn't get paid much this week.
Edit: well scratch that idea off anyways as they are sold out on pre-orders now too. |
This is depressing, sucks how pre-ordering seems to have so many issues on more than a few sites.
|
I succeeded in pre-ordering on HLJ and it still caused me problems. My first attempt to pre-order didn't seem to work as it took me to an empty basket page rather than a confirmation success page; and naturally the intersection of "Oh it probably didn't work" and "pre-orders are running out too fast for me to check another way" meant I tried pre-ordering again. It turns out both of them went through, and when I got home from work today I found that I couldn't log in because I'd been suspended from the site :/

Scalpers on Yahoo auctions are the same as Kiva. Ranging from 8500 yen to 12,800. I feel really stupid for not preordering Kiva thankfully got OOO
|
It looks like a lot of new images have been revealed, showing some really cool stuff:
- There appear to be elbow and knee joint swivels. I don't think I've ever seen this particular form of articulation before. - He comes with a hand that can hold medals! This is delightful, since Bandai has sometimes fallen down on this point. (I know they got it right on OOO and Decade, but not so much Wizard.) - The plate of medals in the Medajalibur can be swapped with an empty plate. Doesn't look like he comes with a loose Cell Medal, though; maybe a future release will include one, since Bandai appears to have thought through how to pose him inserting medals into the sword. - I'm baffled as to how the torso articulation works with the combo-change gimmick. It does appear the upper chest and abs can swivel to some extent. I don't think he has an ab crunch, but it's hard to tell. - We finally got to see an dynamic picture of TakaKiriBa. It looks good, which is no surprise. |
Up for pre-order at NY again - for 10500¥.
I see they’re starting their scalping tactics early this time; usually they wait for the item to be released. Scumbags. Needles to say, don’t pre-order there. There will be plenty of opportunities to get one for the normal price until release. |

Almost two weeks since it went up and AmiAmi screwed up my chance.
STILL MAD. |

Would be cool if this one get's a second run, they do this for Web-Exclusives every now and then and if a figure sells out this bloody fast one would assume they could easily sell a second wave. |
Update to anyone on this thread.
Just talked to Gamestop after seeing it mentioned on twitter but apparently, they ARE taking preorders for OOO and Kiva. Which is... super weird to know. But hell, I wouldn't have been able to get them at all at this point so I'll take it. |
...Wait, what?
Like I can go into a Gamestop and preorder SS OOO? I know you can preorder Figuarts DBSuper stuff from them, but didn't know they'd do the SS stuff. Didn't even know Bluefin was releasing them. |

Just shows I should have been patient on them.
I got OOO for a pretty good price, but I overpaid for Kiva. Would have loved to pay them off over a few months. |

I checked online then just called one and they said they could in person. So, unfortunately, in person is the only way at the moment with them. |
Can confirm, you can walk into a Gamestop and preorder SS OOO in-person. Just did so myself earlier today.

Just realised something odd about this release -- it doesn't come with a Ridewatch stand; despite other releases like the 20 Rider Kicks re-issues and Seihou Kiva coming with them.

@Topic: Still haven’t found a pre-order. Guess I'm waiting for the reissue now... |
So this figure just released today, and as such reviews have been coming out. Said reviews have alleviated any fear no matter how small I had about the figure.
First of all, the Combo Change. Is it difficult to do? Nope! The Head, Arm and Leg parts of the figure pop out of each other very easily in the same way the Combo Change figures did (ofc, sans button and mechanism), yet strikes that perfect balance of being solid enough to not come apart easily when you're playing with him. There is a single additional step over the Combo Change figures; that being the leg part of the chest medal. Rather than being attached to the legs themselves, it's instead a separate piece that attaches to the arm part of the medal via a small swivel. Still very easy to do. Summed up; the Combo Change gimmick is hardly involved or a pain to do and is practically as easy as a gimmick figure. Second, the articulation. As mentioned above, the leg part of the chest medal is not attached to the legs and instead attaches to the arm part of the chest medal via a small swivel. This is a genius move that not only means the leg articulation is completely unhindered; but also means that the chest medal itself is not getting in the way of any ab crunches or the like! This guy can do anything any other Seihou Rider can do if not more. And thirdly, perhaps the most worrying for some people; the core medals themselves in the driver. Now, I don't speak japanese, so I don't know exactly what the guy was saying in the video I watched... but he was shaking OOO repeatedly upside down and the medals didn't so much as budge from the driver, so I think I got the message. As far as I can tell, once you put the medals in there, SOMETHING keeps them extremely tight and secure so unlike other tiny gimmick items (looking at you gaia memories), they ain't coming out easily to get lost. For when you DO want to take them out for a combo change or for Eiji to hold them, there is a small hole at the bottom of each medal slot that allows you to push a pin or something similar through it to push the medal out. There's a lot of genius stuff going on in this figure, the last of which seems to address criticisms of previous Figuarts Rider entries; and I'm glad to see that every fear I had was completely unjustified. I'm so stoked to get my hands on this figure you guys |
I already have the PO on him and I also have the old SHF Tatoba in my collection, however, I am seeing pictures of shoddy paint apps in Japanese twitter for this. The one for the scanner holder looks especially bad. >_<
