You and me both, but as of right now...it doesn't seem like there's much reason to suspect that it is.

I think an OhBlocker Minipla is very likely. The DX robo is among the most cherished of designs in the sentai world.

As for Dairanger, I would love a RyuseiOh, but would skip Dairen'Oh. If they all came as a bundled set, I'd leave it in the Chariot combination :D

I think their wording means the likes of the red Gaokong and Gaopada may not see release, along with the Soul Bird or whatever the Gaoranger equivalent was. I'd be curious if Gaogod will see a release. It would be amazing if it did but I personally am not holding my breath. Do we have any gauge on what price to expect of this guy?

I'm definitely hoping for GaoGod, but I'm thinking if it was released, it'd be an expensive exclusive.

And concerning OhRanger, OhRanger Robo is all that's needed. Damn, such a good mech!

Would be great if they just made a fit-to-scale Soul Bird the SHODO figures can ride.

Ohranger/Zeo would also be cool to see in Minipla, especially when you wonder how they’d handle King Pyramider/Pyramidas in that format

How much do Super MiniPla usually go for? Cause "Every Power Animal" ever is a very big lure, even if its only for one or two mecha, but will I need to pick up some extra-curricular job shifts to afford it.

Bio Robo had an MSRP of ¥5,000. GaoKing will likely be the same.

edited to note that Bandai sells and prices minipla as individual boxes (even when it takes multiple boxes just to make one robot).

Also, like it was previously mentioned, Bandai looks to be rebranding the Super Minipla line with the release of GaoKing. Currently we have Minipla which is usually the mech for the currently airing Sentai series, and then we have Super Minipla which is the "Adult Audience" mecha from older sentai and robot franchises. Both lines are considered candy toys and include gum.

I started watching Gaoranger recently because I'd heard good things and was curious about why it was so beloved. I've never been a huge fan of Gaoking's design, but then, I wasn't super-into the design of Victory Robo, but I love its engineering to bits.

What's confusing for me about why people seem to like the Gaoranger mecha is that, as I understand it, its gimmick is limb-swapping, and recent series that did that... well, the gimmick did not impress me. Did Gaoranger just implement it better?

As someone who hasn't really seen it and is just going off of general knowledge and some half-remembered memories of watching powered rangers as a wee kid? I think what helps is that those auxiliary mechs don't just get forgotten, and become combined mechs themselves. Compare to the vast array of Lupinranger or Ninninger auxiliary mecha that just don't show up after the first 15 episodes, much like a Kamen Rider's early arsenal of forms. The Power Animals actually feel important and prominent since they're much more than just an arm-swap-of-the-week. If I could compare it to anything I'd say it's more like OOO or Fourze than Build or Zero-One.

Silly question but are these also sold in cases like So-Do? I've never pre-ordered these kits before but I did once see some Mosa Rex boxes in the wild

Yes and no the the retail releases are sold in a case but you only get one of each box so you only get one copy of the mecha while the P Bandai kit are in out right replicas of the original DX boxes for the releases which the individual boxes for the mass retail releases also do.


For example the Super Galaxy Robo case had two boxes one for Galaxy Mega dn teh other for Delta Mega modeled after their DX boxes while Grand Liner is just in a single box based off the DX box in a standard P Bandai shipping carton

It's limb-swapping, done really well. Everything in the line is compatible with each other (except for GaoElephant, he only goes on Tiger and Shark). There's nothing quite like it since then, with most of them only swapping arms. Gaoranger has the mechas swapping arms and legs, sometimes having makeshift combos on the fly, and the gimmick is regularly used throughout the show. You can form 4 whole robots from everything as well (GaoKing Sword and Shield, GaoHunter, GaoMuscle Striker and GaoKentauros with Deer and Giraffe as arms). The play value is endless!

Probably God and Hunter as a single release, then Elephant - Gorilla - Bears as a release, then Icarus. Big Lion as a separate set, then of course a P-Bandai Kong + Black Elephant set. If they are wild like SODO OOO maybe some extra concept-only PAs, although I bet they would do that.

Odds are considering how every other sentai super minipla set has been handled only Gaoking will be a mass release while the rest will be P-bandai. Odds are we’ll get Gaohunter Blue Moon as it’s just an easy recolor or Gaohunter similar to the black and gold Max Victory Robo and both did show up in their shows, while Gaohunter Evil will be an integrated transformation with some partsforming

I think it depends on how popular it is. If Gaoking does really well I could see them putting Gaohunter at retail.

Even if releases are not P-Bandai, regular retail of Super Mini-pla sells out pretty consistently and become hard to find. And we haven't seen any reprints of older kits as of yet.

Zyuranger I think is the only series of the Sentai ones that have been reprinted and that was specifically Daizyujin and I think Dragon Caesar. The Gaogaigar stuff gets reprinted occasionally.

Has the Zyuranger stuff been reprinted? I've only seen it go up in price since the original release.

it was very very early on either when Dragon Ceaser or King Brachion were released one or the other as I distinctly remember Daizyujin went back in stock after being discontinued on HLJ

like at best it might also include the toy exclusive color variants like Gao Panda but it most likely only be the ones shown in the show proper but it also depends on how they package the releases

Any word on when the others are coming out? I missed Gao King (hopefully I'll find somewhere that is still taking pre-orders, but not likely), but I desperately don't want to miss Muscle or Hunter.

The Gao King box was listed as "3 pieces" and all the pictures seem to have GaoLion + Eagle together, as well as GaoShark + Tiger together. I'm thinking they might be packaging them in mixes of Torso box, arms box, legs box. But just a guess.

Was hoping to see it with the bison legs to know how the eagle fits in for it's crotch mode for the SMP.

My guess is that the eagle will have a peg to go into the Lion, which doubles as the waist peg.

Also, they might have the parts snuck into GaoKing's kit but haven't shown due to lack of need to show
