^ From what I heard, yes. It helps that she made an already good first impression when she and her stepbrother made their first official appearances in the season.

People forget that you have kids with LGBTQ+ parents also. Some reason, everyone assumes that every kid in America lives in a white subran Christian republican household.

I don’t think it’s a bad thing to have clear depiction of a romance between characters in a show like Power Rangers, because even though it’s a kid show, and look at us, we’re watching it.
Holding hands and hugging is ok in my book. I think though, that some of you are thinking too much about the way kids see it without thinking too much about it. I have clear memories of how I saw some of these 90s and 80s shows. And I didn’t care about romance and didn’t understand most of the subtile stuff or not so subtile ( say hello Batman the Animated series). So, even though kids have changed, we perhaps shouldn’t rob them of their innocence because in itself, it’s still a bit political as I understand of what’s happening in the US. I’m glad to live in a country where gay marriage is legal since 2004. Just to finish it here : I’m against heavy romantic depiction in kids show, whoever it is.(kissing and more I mean) Anyway, now I understand that for some of you, having a news about it is important. I’m more of a guy that thinks that this was some normal stuff and the news wasn’t needed as it tends to play the game of those that are against that subject. |
*sighs*

It's like a revolving door lol... :\

I’ll say this :
Acceptance and tolerance should be what kids should learn at their youngest. They have to accept that people are different and that no one lives the same way as other people do. Thing is, most adults tend to see their views as being absolute and refuse to understand that people could see it another way. Perhaps it’s time to make sure that adults can accept each others despite of their differences, right? |
Is there a way to mute threads so I don't see when there's a new post?

Well written and said. This is where most 'representation' in media can fly or fail. |

From what I understand, we are all kind of agreeing on the same points x) |
Admittedly, I did fear that this particular thread would get locked.

Tbh it shouldn’t as long as people are tolerant and do not have any kind of toxic behavior, but yeah I feel like this is still a hot topic for some.

Hu? Is it? I never said that gay romance is inappropriate for kids.
I said that this was not newsworthy as this is a pretty normal/common thing where I live. Where did you get that idea? My english might be broken but come on, how could you think that? |
That was what it seemed to me like you were saying with this post

Hell, it’s especially important for Power Rangers because of the way it treated David Yost during filming of the first four seasons. It might not be newsworthy where you live, and if that’s true, then honestly, that’s great, and I hope America and the UK catch up to you very quickly. But Power Rangers is made in America, and this site is hosted in America…and this is newsworthy there. |

That happens, it might not have been clear, but I make no distinction in terms of romance as it is a pretty normal thing to me ( be it because of the people who raised me or even the country where I live now) What I wanted to say by «*heavy depiction*» is when it becomes a bit too graphic, be it hetero or gay. Also, this might come off as weird or ignorant, but do gay, hetero or bi kids exist? It seemed to me that you couldn’t identify your sexual preferences before your teens… And thanks Chaos Entity, because you actually answered a lot of the questions I had, but you’ve raised so many more. I still don’t get how a Big country like the US, or how a progressive country like the UK could be so late about this subject. I mean, the UK literally had gay and queer icons during the 80s and 90s. You would think mentalities would have evolved since then… ( I don’t like the word «*queer*» by the way, I find it rather…offensive, so yeah, I feel dirty using it) |
because two characters held hands. alright buddy

Too graphic to me is a sex scene or french kissing, not just holding hands or hugging…. |

Hooo that thing that got deleted, I thought that was some type of spam or I don’t know what. Glad that someone got rid of that.
Again, sorry >< |

Can we get this thread locked? It only gets revived by homophobes trying to instigate at this point.
It really sucks that this milestone in ranger history has been spat on by hateful people, and it's becoming evident that new trolls are going to just revive this when there's a lull in the conversation. It's getting really tiresome, especially when we should be celebrating this news. |

At least one thing this thread did was weed out the individuals on this board that shouldn't be welcomed here or in any community.
That said, it's probably time to lock it. It's literally going to be revived every time someone homophobic or otherwise wants to stand on a soapbox. |
I agree with some of you, this thread should be locked, as unfortunate as it is...
