I think it was 6000 or 7000 yen on mandarake. The medal sets and holder is what will set you back so much, but once you have them all it's just magic to hear all the combos and their scanning charges.

Totally agree. I don't even remember what I paid for all of it anymore, but I don't care. I have them and that's that. And then I skipped the black medals in favor of an extra TaToBa set.

Well the Korean holder and medals are cheaper.

But the sounds are changed, aren't they? Making the whole thing pointless.

The OOO Scanner is the only thing that has sounds though

It would stand to reason if you were able to get a Japanese scanner it would scan to Korean medals and make the Japanese sounds. I think I said that right.

But I haven't seen anyone specifically try doing that so there's no real way of knowing, yet.

As long as you have the Japanese scanner you're fine.

The medals have chips in them that activate a certain sound chip in the scanner. The chips are the same, the sounds have just been altered in the scanner. The medals don't contain any actual electronics. It's the scanner that does all the work.

How some people *coughkiryucough* got it in their heads that Korean medals make Korean names come out of a Japanese scanner still makes me giggle. :D

last I looked for medals a DX Tajador set was like $20 per medal

im still hoping for a Complete Selection or a Super Best though that comes with all the medals
