What's the KyoryuRed wrist problem again?
|
His wrists are tighter than [Insert Tightness Reference Here] and are prone to snapping, same with the Armed On arm.

Can't believe I'm saying it (just because it's not his forte and wasn't really expected), but Optibotimus' review of Mario is the Mario review everybody should watch if they're still unsure. He understands what this figure's representing but also addresses the complaints about him fairly well. For once it was a nice breathe of fresh air for a Figuarts review from a novice to the line and that's great.
I really can't wait to get mine in a few weeks. |
Opened up my Mario earlier and while its an absolutely fantastic figure (I honestly don't know how the actual sculpt/articulation could be bettered really) I do have a few mixed thoughts.
While I can understand the whole minimal accessories/tiny price point mindset (although I would have happily paid more for more stuff), I don't like the fact that what DOES come with the figure is only compatible with stuff that comes in the accessory packs. Both the ? block and Mario himself require special adapters to work with stands, making basic Tamashii stages mostly useless. I was happy passing on the accessory sets, but now I feel like I need them. That was always Bandai's plan though I suppose... |
I want those Star Wars Figuarts yesterday. I was already planning on selling all my 4" SW figs on account of the 6" SW Black figures, but I will be cutting back on those as well, if not dropping them all together.
Once I started getting into Star Wars statues on prop replicas, the Hasbro figures held little interest for me. But I have been dying for some high end poseable figures. I am going to buy all of them. |
Even I have to admit, I may sell one of my 4" Vader figures because of the figuart, though I'll be keeping the FU battle damaged one.

Figuarts definitely turned me against Hasbro and Mattel figures. Quote:
But no, I will try to get 2 Stormtroopers, maaaaaybe 3. Same with Royal Guards and Snowtroopers. ANd Sandtroopers. But even though TIE Fighter Pilots and AT-AT Drivers are my favorite Imperial designs (after the Royal Guard that is), I'll probably limit myself to 1 each of those. |
I want to try to get 3 Storm Troopers...but I said the same thing about Shocker Grunts...and I have none of those. :lol

Eh. Not a fan.

I have no idea. I mean it looks cool and all but it's not the design I would have suspected getting the SHF treatment next. Especially not before a standard form of Blaziken would.

I can think of any number of Pokemon that could look great. Especially upright humanoid types. Blaziken just seems odd an odd choice.

Mega Blaziken, though, is a super odd choice. It... doesn't look that bad really and fuck it I'll get it because Pokémon, but... Hell freaking yeah I would have much preferred a normal one. |
Oh yeah I don't deny that standard Blaziken is pretty popular. But the Mega form is just so out there for choices. It must have gone down like this.
Bandai: "Yo! you guys like that SHF Lucario?" Fans: "Uh yeah how about some more?!" Bandai" "you know it'd be real easy to make a Mega Lucario..." Fans: "Yeah?!" Bandai: "Aww fuck it, Mega Blaziken it is." Fans: "The hell just happened?" |
Maybe they chose Mega Blaziken because of Pokemon X and Y since Torchic was given as a mystery gift event. Also the Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire game is coming out in November.

I'm definitely getting Mega Blaziken. Because *points at username*
I've said many times before that I'm all in for Pokémon. Wouldn't be my first choice for the next figure, but I'm not going to complain. More is more. |
I don't know why people think normal Blaziken is a more obvious choice than the Mega form. One is a form they've been pushing for about a year now, and one isn't.
If anything this seems like one of the most obvious choices at the moment. |
Did they ever put out a version of Asuka in her classic all-red Plugsuit? I simply do not care for the red and orange one.
|
People! We need a Greninja figure.

Revoltech did at least one (I think more though) in their Fraulein line though, and C:MO did a more expensive (so I assume bigger) one more recently. |
Quote:
I was aware of the Revoltech version, I just... don't know how well their human figures hold up. If at all. |

I have Fraulein Yoko and she's pretty good in that she at least doesn't suffer from the usual Revoltech problems. |

Maybe it will down the line, but so far the whole "Smash Bros" cast releases have just been more coincidental than anything I think.

As was inevitable... this year we'll see yet another SDCC DBZ exclusive. And it's one I know I've seen some predict it might be this, I didn't see it being popular enough to warrant getting made. Meh, whatevs.
|
Oh HOT DAMN! Original colors Vegeta? Sign me up! Good thing I'll be there :D
|
Really? That's, kinda lame in all honesty. I know it's probably cheaper to just repaint the figure then produce a new one, but this seems like a missed opportunity to make a new figure out of a character who hasn't gotten one yet.
|
That looks GORGEOUS.
|
I hope they make Rayquaza into a figure. With Rayquaza, they can use the Dragreder mold since they have a similar body.
