Uncharted 2 has jungle, a Nepalese city and snowy mountains. |

My favourite Uncharted is Uncharted 3. I felt it was the most cinematic of the 3, with some truly epic sequences, and there were some really amazing locations, like the ship graveyard. I also felt Drake was most likable in 3 and I loved the emphasis on his relationship with Sully.

Played some Tatsunoko vs Capcom, tried out Tekkaman Blade, he's a fun character, so i guess i got one from Tatsunoko on my side.
I keep rotating out characters but Morrigan is still my main. |

I enjoyed 3, but the game lost a lot of its greatness when they faked killing off Sully again. It just really removed me from the game as it was cliched and boring. Plus, the shooting mechanics felt off this time around. It was beautiful, but between the trilogy, the second one was near perfect. My scores of the games are actually an 8, a 9.5, and then a 9. |
I just unlocked all the characters in Tatsunoko vs Capcom, now the real fun begins as i experiment with every character and try to get all the unlockables.

I decided to find my copy of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed earlier today. It took three hours for me to return to society
|
I've been playing Shadowrun: Returns.. I backed it on Kickstarter awhile ago and I am just now playing through the new Dragonfall DLC mission that came free to me as well for backing.. Having a lot of fun with it.. You get a lot of choices..
|
My main play-through right now is Xenoblade Chronicles, but I also have Dragon Ball Origins, The Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds, and Evil Dead: Regeneration which I started and plan on finishing.
|
Just started Devil Survivor Overclocked.
|
I hate playing Brawl in the Uni's game room, no items and only being able to play on Final destination takes the fun out of it.

And while Final Destination is a fine stage, that part I'll agree with you on - there's plenty of others that are considered good. Generally so long as there isn't a stage hazard, it's a good stage to play on. Personal favorite being the Pokemon Stadium stages. |
I completed Metroid Prime 3 a little while ago with 100%. This was my second time playing the game (yes, I beat it when it first came out and just realized that was 7 years ago, I really need to replay these games more often) and it was better than I remember. Some of the boss battles are a pain in the freaking ass though, but out of the three games, this game has the easiest final boss battles. The story is really well done and I like getting to see more of what the inhabitants of the universe are like rather than just there being space pirates or bird people. I also liked the planet hopping even though I do feel some areas could have been a bit bigger (such as the fire area of Bryyo), but it's no big deal. The pirate homeworld is pretty awesome too as it is easy to see why they try to terraform to other planets.
Strangely though, I could have sworn there was a lore or something that discussed the Auroras being based off Mother Brain or something, but I could not find it anywhere in the game. Or it might have just been a computer voice making mention of it in a data log or something. Either way, it seemed to be missing or I completely passed over it. Graphically it was one of the best looking games on the Wii. Lastly, I did like how there was less required back tracking in the game, something that is completely opposite from the second one, but I also feel you don't get as acquainted with these worlds as you did with Talon IV and Aether. Nevertheless, I give this game a nice 8.5/10 stars. |
Both Titanfall and Darksouls 2 are both awesome games. I have to half my time inbetween them and I also just got into the Project spark beta too. So much games...

Been playing Tatsunoko vs Capcom trying to finish up unlocking the alternate costumes.
|
Started Playing Gotcha Force again, cleaning out my box and trying out some Borgs. Alien Insect is a bit of a surprise hit.
|
Only on Day 2 of Devil Survivor. I want to experiment with demon fusing on my own before I resort to any guides. I managed to make a Jack Frost :lol
|
In my non online, movie watching, and reading spurts I should really try to finish up Devil May Cry and God of War. especially GOW since I'm pretty much at the final level of it.
|
Played through Metroid II today and then started Super Metroid.
|
Made it to the DLC case of Dual destines.
I love how Apollo gets trated like total sh*t in this case. |
Just about to play my first ever "my own copy of a PS3 game", Heavy Rain.
|
Still struck on DKC: TF but I'm finally finding the hidden exits.
It's such bullcrap that a rocket barrel level has TWO of them! Why was that a thing?!?!? |
Played about an hour of Heavy Rain and almost died of boredom. It's really sad and stuff, but I basically spent an hour aimlessly meandering around. And I get that it's setting up some stuff, but I dunno, gonna try Infamous 2 next and come back to Heavy Rain later.

Guess who just found all the secret exits and beat ALL of the secret levels?
Galvantula!!!! Now I'm trying to get all the KONG letters so I can beat the Temple levels as well, but both of those goals are lofty at best. I'll still be working on that by the time Shovel Knight drops. |
Alright recap of my first day with a PS3.
Out of the three games I chose, inFAMOUS 2 is BY FAR my favourite. I get that it isn't anything "special" in this genre of game but I dunno, when you've not had the resources to play a sandbox fantasy relief game like this for years and you finally get to unleash yourself, it's just really thrilling. I picked up Uncharted simply because it was an exclusive but I've never been good at platformers and I'd already struggled by the end of the first temple, so I don't see this lasting long in my collection. It certainly looks nice and everything but eh. I guess time to give Heavy Rain another crack, see if I can get into it and not make it two duds out of three. |
And now I have once again completed the greatest video game ever made, Super Metroid!!! Not only that, but this is also the first time I decided to just take my sweet ass time with the game and complete it with 100%.
http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0897ccd0.jpg Unfortunately, I did something very stupid. I forgot that you get locked out of the rest of the map after a certain point in Tourian, and I ended up saving my game right at the final save point, so now I can never go through everything with all of my items. :( Sure, it just means I have to replay the game, but my next playthrough will be attempting to speed run the game so I can have a file beaten in less than 3 hours (which I haven't done in 15 years). It is kind of stupid to be locked out of the rest of the world, but whatever. Of course, that might not happen as in the twenty years I have been playing the game, I still cannot figure out how to do the wall jump or even the mock ball. I watch videos all of the time on Youtube on them, read how people do them, but I just cannot do either of them. For the wall jump, I can usually get one bounce and then that is it. I have no idea how these people are going up entire passageways like they do. Anyway, the game itself is just so amazing. It is so much fun, has a great use of atmosphere and audio to tell its story. Not to mention there is just so much going on with the world of Zebes itself. The boss battles are great and even twenty years later I am still learning new things about the game. For example, today I learned about the quick way to kill Draygon using the grapple beam. In all of this time, I have been beating him while nearly dying and there was an easy way to deal with him. Go figure. The battle with Mother Brain is just down right incredible and is still to this day one of the best final battles in video game history. Overall, I give this game a perfect 10/10. Lastly, for nostalgia purposes, I played through the game using this as my controller: http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1e719573.jpg |
Okay so I played some more Heavy Rain and... THERE ARE GONNA BE SPOILERS AHEAD, SINCE THERE IS NO TAG BUTTON I'M GONNA JUST WRITE THIS IN ALL CAPS RATHER THAN HAVING TO PAINFULLY MANUALLY ADD THE TAGS THANKS.
The first hour of Heavy Rain is pure boredom, I'm sorry, it is. Stories of dead children, and torn apart lives, are engaging on the silver screen because we don't have to clumsily bumble from one action prompt to the next to get the thing moving. By the point where I was helping my distant son with his homework, while cooking pizza for him in the microwave (seriously)...I was ready to turn the game off. Which I did. But at about three in the morning I decided to turn the game back on...AND MY GOD AM I GLAD I DID. Seriously, in the next hour, it basically becomes an entirely different game, throws logic out of the window and becomes pure AWESOME. In quick succession we take control of three new characters. One is a private detective introduced as having a terrible way with words, Asthma and then you're exploded into a quick time event fight scene that is so 80s action movie silly, and so out of place in such a dour title, you'll be howling like a small child on cherryade. Oh yeah, and the next time we control this guy? You get to talk a gunman out of doing what he is doing, before wrestling the gun from him and beating the shit out of him. HELL TO THE FUCK YEAH. The next character is...and I'm not kidding...an FBI profiler, with a weird accent that makes his nationality impossible to place, with a scar on his face, who is also a drug addict AND solves cases using futuristic holographic technology, super shades and the fucking power glove. I AM NOT KIDDING. I have no fucking idea what the hell is going on any more, but it's awesome. And wow this miserably depressing game is silly, like really really bonkers silly. The truly crowning jumping the shark moment though - and keep in mind probably only about forty five minutes to an hour have passed between making the son pizza to turning your fucking dusty office into an alien planet before reading about dead kids - you take control of the protagonists wife which leads almost immediately into the opportunity for a nude shower scene, in the oddest apartment I have ever seen. So to refresh, we go from pure boredom, to in the space of about an hour to an hour and a half, asthma warrior private detective saving the day who for some reason thinks this noir game is actually an 80s popcorn flick, to holy shit I'm almost robocop but a drug addict FBI profiler to OH SHIT GLISTENING WET TITS. Am I even playing the same fucking game?! THIS GAME IS AMAZING. |
