I'm Daikaijuman54. I've been a fan of Tokusatsu, probably since the day I was born, growing up watching Godzilla and Power Rangers (Though my memories of it are a bit hazy, as I can't pinpoint which season that might have been.) It was a dream of mine to one day wear the Godzilla suit, despite the dangers. Eventually, I became interested in the genre and began looking for other pieces of Kaiju media which eventually led me to find Ultraman, where my journey into Tokusatsu began.
Before long, I was shown Kamen Rider, which I've also heard in passing along with Garo, even learning that Power Rangers was adapted from a Japanese show known as Super Sentai. And so my journey began.

Interests in Character Design, as I've drawn a lot in my life and being influenced by the works of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. Currently planning a Manga, that serves as a love-letter to Tokusatsu Superheroes and Shounen Manga, and a Kaiju related story (as I'm a huge Kaiju fan.) My goal is to create a legacy like many other pieces of media and maybe even surpass them.

I don't get any grief from man, Ultra, traman, or ltraman but U*traman is just an unconscionably offensive string of letters I guess

I love the fact that boards like Toku Nation and Hello!Online are still running, but gosh, the code for these places must have been getting on a bit in 2002, so I think there's not much point trying to second guess why it's picking on you especially. :p

Hello everybody, I grew up watching Power Rangers and other shows like it, I mainly remember Beetleborgs, and Kamen Rider, I've just been getting back into watching a lot of those good old shows.

I’m not a “new” member, I’ve just been lurking forever lol.

My main question is how can one watch most Sentai and KR content when practically all I could find were fan subs and I’ve heard they have been stopping their releases. There’s nothing before Jetman from Shout, and there’s really no KR past Toei’s YT channel releasing two episodes every now and again. I’m just getting into some of these series, and past episode two, that’s it.

Does Toei not understand there’s a demand for their IPs?

I'm a bit of a Lapsed Toku fan. I was really active in any community up until 8 or so years ago, when of course, being an adult took priority over other things. I would still watch things Like Kamen Rider, but Sentai I stopped watching after LuPat, and I'm starting back up on Zenkaiger. So it's a bit of a catch up process for me.
Over the last year I've taken up things such as streaming and just started up a other networking sites to get myself back involved with the community, so I'm trying to rejoin the fandom and see how it's changed over the last almost 10 years. I've already noticed a few things while commenting in Toku twitter....Toy Catalogues arent a thing anymore? And I know that the C&D's kinda crushed most of the Fansubbing efforts (which is why I'm glad I still have my 4TB HDD with a lot saved on there).

I was resistant to getting into Kamen Rider but when I was on strict bedrest I got into Ex Aid (my husband was bouncing around in Kamen Rider series. Technically Zi-O was airing) I love Fourze, Wizard, Saber, Ex Aid, Ghost, Zero One, Build the most and regret putting off OOO (Date is the best). Not a fan of Gaim (sorry)

I am also a super huge Shindai fan, particularly Reika. And Kamen Rider Beast.

Hi, I'm Storm (obviously). I had seen a few toku shows before, but last year I got super into Kamen Rider, having watched about 15 seasons, and then I started Sentai as well and I've seen about 10 of those. It's pretty much consumed my life but I feel like I've only barely started! My favorite Rider series is most definitely Build, and for Sentai I'd say it's basically a tie between Gokaiger and Timeranger. I plan to watch the Ultra series too as well.

I just want to introduce myself ! My name is Eklas and I'm a 36 years-old French tokusatsu fan (so please excuse me if there are grammar mistakes).

I'm obsessed with super sentai and metal heroes series since the beggining of the 90s (specially Bioman, Liveman, Gavan, Jiraiya and Winspector)and I've discovered Kamen Rider around 15 years ago with fansubs.

I also really like the work of Keita Amemiya, particularly the Garo series.

To be honest, I'm more accustomed with vintage series, but I try to keep myslef up to date with new tokusatsu series.

I'm a toy collector and I paint miniatures and figures (including some tokustatsu related) in my free time !

I find it difficult to really appreciate the new sentai series firstly because the heroes are now much younger than me, so I have little more difficulties identifying with them, and also because the CGI effects are, in my opinion, truly awful and distracting.

The last sentai serie I really like was Kyuranger.


I tried to create a new thread in the custom section, but I don't think it has been accepted yet.

Stay young at heart and your body can age all it wants, you'll still be able to imagine yourself wearing bright colored full-body spandex suits :lol

No way around that, yeah. It looks terrible. But at some point I just accepted it. Even Donbrothers with its weird black & pink ranger can't shock me no longer, not when the show is this much fun.
