So rather than a sequel to Digimon Adventure that ignores 02 it actually is a full sequel to the original two seasons? Huh. Might actually be cool seeing the cast of 02 returning for the big finale too.

I'm glad that Adventure 02 is not being ignored. I never get the hate for it since I remember no one hated it when it was airing until a decade later. I love the cast from Adventure 02 since Davis was my favorite as a kid.

People also thought the Matrix was deep and mind boggling until a decade later, too.
People also really hated Tamers from breaking Adventure's story line and being different.
It's all about the retrospective. I loved 02 as a kid (Except the ending. I always disliked that). As Digimon moved on and fans revisited the past series, a lot found 02 to be lacking. The characters don't offer anything new, just being expys of our old cast (Despite our old cast being present), the story was somewhat creative, but kept falling over hurdle after hurdle (Mainly due to poor explanations), and then pull what Frontier did years before Frontier was a thing by making the main cast beyond the main 2 worthless. Wrap that all up in a Saban cheese dub (Though much better than Adventure's) and you have a mediocre series that some look back on fondly, others, like me, purely despising it.
(I liked preteen TK the most as a kid)

The biggest issue for Adventure 02 for me was Malomyotismon. Why bring back Myotismon again as our final villain? Not to mention the idea of happy thoughts that can hurt him was stupid. It felt like something written for a Care Bears villain instead.

I've been making some progress on Frontier lately. I'm right at the end of the Cherubimon arc.

I like Frontier. Story's alright, characters are alright. I like the companion Digimon a lot. But god damn. I knew I would from the moment I started watching it, but I despise how the character focus really has gone to shit. I mean, I can understand when only the main two reach the highest level of evolution in a season with a large cast--that's how it was in both Adventures, and really, whatever, it's not ideal but it's bearable.

This thing. This thing where Takuya and Koji don't evolve one level higher than the others but two is just terrible. It's even more so because they do it at the expense of the others. It's such a stupid ass way to do a show ostensibly about teamwork and friendship and it sucks so much. (I especially like how Koichi became irrelevant thanks to this literally two episodes after he turned good, because screw you I guess. Where did that whole "the only thing that can defeat him is true darkness!!!!!!" thing even go anyway). That stupid filler episode with IceDevimon that was basically all about "look guys, these four are totally not completely irrelevant now!!!!" didn't fool anybody.

(IceDevimon's barely an Adult Digimon, what were they even trying to prove. Bigger threat than Cherubimon my ass.)

It's so stupid. So stupid. It's like there's just enough things I enjoy about it to keep me from saying "fuck Frontier," but seriously, fuck Frontier on this respect.

Digimon's odd obsession with the main 2 characters makes series like Tamers and Savers, where they don't leave everyone out, all the better.

Concerning Frontier, I really feel that the story just kind of falls flat after Cherubimon is defeated.

Well, KaiserLeomon has been in three episodes, but yeah, I don't expect to see him much more at all in what's left of the show.

And yeah, so I hear. Apparently there's a stretch in this second arc that is really repetitive? Which I assume means "royal knights are up to no good, four of the chosen children spectate as the other two fight them, stalemate, rinse and repeat." With only 13 episodes left, that does indeed sound like a pretty flaky direction.

Honestly, there probably wasn't much need to have a second arc after Cherubimon was defeated at all. I could understand if they were going to use it to develop Koichi more, his relationship with the others and such, but seriously, I know that's just not going to happen. Meh.

I think frontier is the only season I watched full on subbed and I ended up enjoying it I might of heared it if I watched it dubbed

Intresting opening for first five minuets but I can't judge it just by that. I did like glimps of Davis digivice and Yoki glasses. I hope we get answer to why Katri and takers digivice change back or is still the same or are there 02 versions.

I loved Digimon as a kid and growing up I was a freakin nut for Patamon anf his line...and quick question...shouldnt Angewomon have had Ophanimon as her mega not Magnadramon.....just seems a bit more natural to me

Tamer had few minor edit done to it one being teriormon first digivolved to Fargo mom in show he ends up putting his gun arm at Rikka saban edit thT to make it look like his just staring at her and renamon drew blood when she scratched him with her fit in same episode

It never really bothered me. Magnadramon was an interesting choice, but if you follow her evolution line of Salamon -> Gatomon -> Angewomon -> Magnadramon, you'll realize that Angewomon is the odd one out :lol

It doesn't matter. In the end, the only one who makes an impact is Imperialdramon on the 02 side of things. Everyone else are glorified meatshields.

Looks at it from this stand point, maybe they went for the flip phones because its only been a few years since their story ended. That's the only reason I can think of. I mean I still use a sliding phone because I prefer to have an actual keyboard as compared to an onscreen one.

I figured this is still set in 2000/2001 (or shortly after) so naturally they wouldn’t have Smartphones...

Tri takes place before the epilogue but 6 month after the battle with malomyotismon so that why they got flip phones still

I thought it was set right after Armageddemon was killed and Revenge of Diaboromon is set three months after Season 2?
