Yeah, that was a little disappointing.

That said, the parts seperation is actually quite good in most areas. The various red details on the T. Rex legs are seperate parts, the nose and eyes of the tiger, etc. It's just kind of misplaced efforts. I wouldn't have minded stickers on the T. Rex's lower legs if the head wasn't solid red and needed that one huge sticker of the entire forehead and eyes.

Oh boy, that's gonna be fun/horrifying to paint :lol

Not crazy about the...chalky look, but I guess that's to be expected from molded colors. Wonder if a top coat would mitigate that enough?

Speaking of, I've never painted a minipla before. Don't suppose anyone has any tips do they? If I have to prime and or wash the plastic before hand, what paint I should use(I'm mainly looking at Mr. Color), etc.

I can't imagine a minipla being all that different from a normal model kit.

The t-rex thing is a little disappointing but the GGG does the same thing on galeon, I think mechanism would be a bit too fragile for a small candy toy without any polycaps and stuff. The GGG is fantastic though, so i'm pretty excited to ship mine out at at the end of the month.

I'm not really sure what's up with the Galient. The pictures make it look like two separate figures, but it also seems like the two boxes contain half of one. It might just be that pictures of the more detailed figure are incorrect. No idea though.

Edit: Think I found it. The detailed mech appears to be the Wave W.H.A.M. version. Not sure why they have the two mixed though.

Thanks for the information for Dragon cesar. I was aware that it would show up since they showed a preview picture on bandai staff blog, but I wasn't waiting it so soon after.
It seems a bit expensive for a single mecha. But I am still ordering it !
I really hope that they will continue to release super minipla version of older sentai robots.

Now to check HLJ every day until DC shows up there. It's pretty expensive though. Again, MG prices for what's barely even HG model. Why are minipla so expensive?

That's... kinda odd. I mean, I can see it. But I have to wonder how big and/or small they are then. Just going to have to wait till a review of it comes out I guess.

Got my preorder in. Damn these are pricey, $90 for the pair. but I know I'll regret them if I pass. Besides, it's only the two. I doubt I'll ever get any minipla ever again, just stick with Gundam models.

I really wish Bandai would branch out their Plamo into Super Sentai and other lines so we could get proper mecha models with detail and prices to match Gundam.

The parts separation on the Dragonzord better be phenomenalfor what they're asking.

Y'know, the more I think of it, the more I think I should cancel my Dragonzord preorder and ask HLJ for a return and refund on Daizyujin. These are grossly overpriced for what they are and I'm just having a hard time getting over it. $50 for what is basically a High Grade which is normally a fifth the cost. $40 for a model that's not even half that even. I'm gonna end up paying close to $100 for a sticker covered model that parts forms.

After buying SMPla GGG, I have to agree. Not that GGG was bad...but it's basically a transformable SRC with no diecast and stickers. If there was a viable alternative to GGG at that price, I'd do it...even if it was a Power Rangers Legacy-style brick. But I'm passing Daizyujin and the Dragonzord...just not worth the money when I have decent representations in my collection already and have the SoC version on preorder.

I know Bandai of Japan isn't listening...but when they start doing older Sentai mech in Super Minipla, I'll be back.

I haven't received Daizyujin, yet (it's bundled with the Figuarts Ex-Aid set,) but for those who have, how does it compare to the Kyurenoh minipla?

I personally like it. The one thing I noticed is that it's not "pop out the pieces" like the regular minipla. I had to use a pair of nippers on my Daizyujin so make sure you have a pair. There is also a teensy bit of partsforming (the T-Rex head and neck guard in particular; I wish they pegged in securely in the chest in combined mode) but that's pretty normal for most minipla (Kyurenoh being the exception rather than the rule). The finished product is the same size as Kyurenoh which may bother some people considering the price (I will post a picture later tonight). If the price is not an issue than I highly recommend it!

How big is Kyurenoh? I have no idea how big Minipla are.

I know what you mean. When I thought about it, the amount I'm spending on the minipla is almost as much as I got the Legacy Megazord for. lol. Almost makes it not worth it in comparison but I have a feeling I'll regret passing it up in the future.

From the ones I have like GokaiOh, ZyuOh King and Gosei Great are around 5-6 inches tall. They aren't always consistent with the scaling from series to series though and since I haven't built KyurenOh yet I can't say for sure.

Kyurenoh is just a bit over 6 inches standing straight. Daizyujin is actually a bit smaller at the head. If you measure up to his back cannons he's 6 inches tall.

Here's a size comparison. Not sure what makes super minipla "super" but I still like him. His price is a bit high but if you like minipla and want a posable Daizyujin that transforms then I'd say get him.

Yeah, really not sure what makes Daizyujin worth twice what that Kyurenoh is worth. Definite pass.

If you want a poseable Daizyujin, grab the SRC. If you want a poseable, transforming Daizyujin, grab the SOC.

Honestly, the only reason to grab the Super Minipla is if you intend to get the Dragonzord, too.

That's easy to say when you don't consider how much those cost.

$50 for a model is a lot, but not as much as $400-500 for the SOC. And before you say "well it's worth the money" I don't have $400 to drop on the SOC, and probably won't for a long time.

I think the minipla is great, just not $50 great. If it was $30 or something that'd be another story.

Well, the SOC floats for $250-300, but I get what you're saying.

I'm just saying that, for those looking for a well articulated Dino Megazord/Daizyujin, I think the SRC is the better value, unless the transformation is really that vital for you.
The upcoming Dragonzord does make the minipla more worth it, though.

$300 USD, which is about $360 Canadian. Not counting the cost of shipping for something so large and heavy, and the duties and tariffs I'd have to pay on such an expensive item, and realistically I could expect to pay more like $450.

It is. The SRC is great, I'd like to own it possibly one day, but I only like non-transforming versions if I have a good transforming one as well.

Ok, so my Kyurenoh is here but I have two of box 2 (Shishi box 2) and no box 5 (Chameleon). Is there any way I can easily deal with this?

Man, I can't say how amazing the entire Zyuohger minipla line is- it's so much fun.

And Kyurenoh- sets 1 and 2- dang they did well with those! I can't put'em down!

I'm still getting Daizyujin- mine actually shipped yesterday- so I'm looking forward to that. He's perfect for me, because I like my stuff to be all-plastic and able to pose without causing cosmetic damage in moving areas, so for somebody like me: The Super Minipla Daizyujin is a perfect fit. Can't wait. ^_^

Uh-oh. Contact the seller. Was it sealed that way? Like, was there an external container that contained all six together?

Contact the seller and show them a picture of all 6 boxes to verify that you accidentally received an error.
Also, don't open them until they re-contact you with possible steps in solving it. If it was a box set, for example, they may ask you to return the box and they'll ship you out an entirely new box with the correct items.
(I don't know who you ordered it from, so I can't guarantee their policies, so take every precaution)

Yeah, it was a sealed 6 box set. Thanks for the advice, I'll try and follow that up.

Hey guys!

I managed to mod my Kurenoh so it has actual hands now!

I used MG Gundam hands, they just pop right in- easy peezy.

Then I transferred the voyager heads to the holes in his back- perfect fit.

So much happier with it now. ^_^

Aw, look at his cute little hands. I don't know why Kyurenoh would need hands but good job.

OK, so update on box: I've had some email back and forth and can get a replacement. Will have to send it back to Japan though, so may take some time.

Will probably get vol 3 then. May pass on vol 2 as this gets me Sasori and I don't really care about Tenbin or Hebitsukai.
