I'm around ep. 17-18 of Blade, and I have to say it is a fine Kamen Rider series, and those of you who are watching Fourze will recognize Principle Hayami as Garren from KR Blade. I haven't watched Ryuki besides the first episode, though, but I might check it out (after I'm done with Kuuga, that is).

LOL a little confusion, The first episode I watched was ep. 40. Idk I'm not too big on the shows. I love the suit designs though. Its pretty funny when I pose a figure and my brother tells me "thats completely wrong, they would never do something like that".

I hadn't watched W or OOO (which I still haven't) at the time, so I decided to pass on Fourze. Plus, it was the cafeteria scene that completely ruined the episode for me. It was just way too clichy and dumb for my intelligence.

BTW, how come no one told me you could take out Ryuki's and Knight's Advent Deck? :-p

Also, when it comes to Figuarts, which do you prefer: More features or more accessories?

Define what you mean by features. It really depends on your definition.

oooh...didn't see that question...I mean right now for example I'm writing up Figuarts Gills and he has a boat load of accessories, but they all work together well, and even all at the same time. Then you have the Ryuki figures where Ouja has some of the least amount of stuff (well until Raia comes to me...) but just how he is makes him my favorite.
Agito and Black are the quintessential bare bones figures, but you compare Black to RX, I think Black is a better figure. Then there is Another Agito whose basic features with his scarves give him so much dimension..he is a high value figure.
Fourze...now there is one whose accessory count is just too high, I'm sorry...one will never have them all on display at once. He isn't going into my collection, but Meteor is. Just me I guess...but I like a simple figure that is a good balance.

By features, I mean stuff like transforming items and weapons, as I've heard the Akibaranger Figuarts are implementing.

At the moment, most (Practically all) Figuarts who have transforming weapons would just have 2 weapons, one for both forms.
Would you prefer Figuarts to go the way of SIC, where transforming items would actually transform in the toy (Such as SIC Zeronos's ZeroGasher)?

For example, would you prefer Figuarts Den-O Sword form's sword, the DenGasher, to actually split into 4 pieces and an additional blade, or have one solid sword, and 4 additional, static accessories to represent the DenGasher when it's stored away?

I agree! Fourze has way too many accessories for his own good. It would be cool to have all the switches but that just racks up. When I bought my Fourze it was at a con and I bought mod. set 1 for a deal. I ended up getting rid of it cause I'd never use it.

If it can be done well, sure I'd love them to have transformable weapons. I'm just not confident they can do it without sacrificing build quality and looks. On things as small as figuarts weapons, joints really stand out. If it's a sliding joint, as could have been implemented in IXA's weapon, you run the risk of the joint wearing down and not holding one of its forms. So, as technology currently stands, give me separate weapons for transformable items. Figuarts to me are all about detail and anything that potentially derails that shouldn't be in the figure.

Yeah that was my only knock against the figure really. It feels like you're only getting part of something if you just buy just the figure. I can quite happily pass on the module sets (no matter how much I want launcher) but I still want the effect/stand set.

Yeah the effect/stand set really bring the figure together. The broken ground base is awesome!

Okay, in that case, I would rather have accessories than features. I find features to be gimmicks that do not belong in a collector's line, which is what these Figuarts seem to be.

It's probably also because Fourze is airing on tv right now. Look at how many OOOs figuarts there are compared to others.

The thing is with OOOs and W each form had it's own figure. Frankly makes a cool display with all the forms. Fourze you have one or two modules on the guy and a pile of stuff you have stored away. No value.

No, I wouldn't like that. To me, that featured belongs in the SIC line, with the slightly larger scale. With the DenGasher in particular, it seems at the smaller scale it would be far too fragile, unable to stay together well. The Trigger Magnum is another example, it's just too small in the Figuarts scale to be able to flip up and down, plus having two versions of it I can have him dual wield it, even if it is horribly inaccurate that way.

And SIC even takes it too far; the Memory Gadgets can transform, but because the pieces are so small, I find they don't hold together well. It's neat, but ultimately makes those pieces less fun to play with. Even the MG Figurise versions, which are again, as much larger over SIC as SIC is over SHF, don't transform, they are distinct pieces.

I much prefer having distinct accessories for each form, and I do prefer lots of accessories, even though not being able to display them all at once is kind of disappointing. But I like having the full range of possibilities.

I have some really mixed feelings on these two. The feet for OOO sucks because they do not have any ankle swivel, so it makes him hard to pose him in a running pose. On the other hand, the sculpting is nice and he feels like a strong figure. I like his claws, and now it makes me want to get to watching OOOs faster so I can put him in some show poses.

As for Fourze, well, first off, his upper left knee does not move. It seems like the joing is fixed on there so tightly that if I even try to move it, it is going to snap off. His feet are not centered and he just feels cheap. Not to mention those things on his belt keep falling off like the plugs on Ryuki and Knight. The sculpting is pretty cool though.

Overall, not my favorite batch, but I am glad to have them now rather than wait until later and pay twice as much for them.

OOO is a really good series. It's pacing could use some work around the middle, but once the plot thickens it gets really good.

I still need to pick up Fourze Base States...

I need all of the OOO Figuarts, except for Super TaToBa, who is pretty awesome, and Fourze too. Someday. not today.

Oh, I found Sasword on Mandarake today, and ordered him. I hope the order goes through, because he's the last Kabuto Figuart I foresee wanting, for a long time. Also, he's the best design of them.

OOO's gimmick revolves around his mix-and-match body. While one medal can only become one portion (A head medal is only a head, etc), he can freely swap various medals to change that portion of his body.
While there are only 6 official combos (The combos use medals of one solid color) in series, one of which can't swap medals, he also has 3 movie exclusive forms, one variant form, one Combo that he never actually used (The Black medals), and 3 medals that weren't actually used in the series or movies (The 2 Kangaroo medals and the Panda medal).

He has that many 'potential' forms. Not nearly that many were ever used though.

However, when it comes to that number, the following have to be disregarded in terms of Figuarts: PuToTyra (Never (And, in series, I don't think it can be) used outside of itself), BuraKaWani (Like PuToTyra, medals only used for itself), Super TaToBa, Imagin core, Shocker core, and both Kangaroos.

The only medals that were mixed and matched to make forms were the ones used in the 5 base combos (TaJaDor, ShaUTa, GataKirBa, SaGoZoh, and LaToraTah). Everything else, while possible to be used in the belt, wouldn't get a Figuart (Outside their own combos).

I think, just using the base 5 medal types, there are 125 possible combinations(?) If I did my permutation calculation right. So ~128 not using the 2 Kangaroo medals.

So, with 125 possible in series combinations, plus the other forms used in series or movie (PuToTyra, Super TaToBa, BuraKaWani, TaMaShi, and TaToBa purple eyes ver.) leaves OOO at around 130 Figuart possibilities.

Possibly more, should Eiji ever get to use the Future or the Black core medals in a future movie or if Eiji ever mixes the Orange cores with others.

I only ordered Kick Hopper on a whim, and i regret it, I haven't even opened it. Though I'm sure I"ll be come more interested in him, Punch Hopper, the Zectroopers and movie characters once I see more of the show.
