I imagine we'll see a full wave of LC Monsters now too, beyond Pumpkin and Sphinx. Wonder who the other two'll be?

I'm really hoping for Knasty Knight and Lizzinator at some point, since those are my two favorite MOTWs.

Well, I'm personally hoping for things outside of Zyuranger. If they are serious about doing this line, I'd love to see them pull some wild stuff with it!

My biggest hope for the LC Monsters is Silo personally. That and maybe the monster forms of the Psycho Rangers.

I imagine Snide being part of the main line, since the "Monsters" subline seems to be focusing exclusively on MOTWs. But hey, if they use it for non-Ranger antagonists in general, then I imagine they'll get to some of the more popular ones eventually. So people like Ecliptor, Scorpina, Grumm, etc.

Yeah, the Monsters line is in a strange position because even as recently as the latest wave; the mainline's been used for both generals and footsoldiers even though those seem like natural fits for the Monsters line.

My local Wal-Mart seems to have gotten the latest wave already. They only had DT Red in stock, but now I know to keep an eye out both here and at Target for a possible early Z-Putty I can nab. So yeah, check your local stores if you haven't recently.

Yeah, they were officially stated to be coming out December 1st, and Target's' website even still says as much.

Double surprising for me since my local stores almost always get toys way later than official release dates.

Got my official email that my Drakkon Evo III was cancelled, don't know how it took them a month to come to that conclusion. Still not sure if I'll go and do the pre-order on the March release.

SPD and In Space VS pack pre-orders are up on Hasbro Pulse. They're each 40 dollars and due to ship on January 1st.

Fun fact I just learned only by going to the Hasbro Pulse website: They're doing a 2nd run of the Deluxe EVO III Drakkon, which is set to release in March. So if you want it, grab it now. Me? I'mma just wait for a Standard Edition release.

Anyway, got my pre-order for Pumpkin Rapper in. Something to note is that it seems every release of the Monsters subline is going to be $30 instead of the standard $20-22. If it means we keep getting unique sculpts and a bunch of accessories like Rapper does, I'm fine with it.

Tbh I think that means we won't keep getting them at all. It makes sense for the sheer amount of plastic included but my doubts about the spin-off line's longevity just doubled.

I imagine it really does depend on how well they sell compared to the main line. Like, yeah, obviously they'll aim for the most popular monsters first, and that should keep it going. But after that? Yeah, things'll be more up in the air.

The Astronema box art just makes me realize how generic the art on the LC boxes really is.

So, uh, when do we get Mystic Force and Jungle Fury? Especially Jungle Fury since I feel it'd be easier to complete the main team at least since there is only three main ones.

Haven't really gotten into LC since I'm still not that big of a fan of Hasbro's plastic. But I'd shell out for Jungle fury.

Not for a good while unfortunately. Even factoring in the leak for Wave 9, they're mainly focusing on the more popular seasons. Heck, I feel like Mercury Ranger being a part of that wave is solely due to him being a 6th.

But, I'm right there with you. Would love to have figures of Koraag and RJ.

Weirdly enough, there's a VERY big stretch of shows Hasbro hasn't so much as touched -- they haven't put out a single character from between SPD and Dino Charge. Magiranger, Boukenger, Gekiranger, Go-Onger, Shinkenger, Goseiger, Gokaiger... all left quite alone for now.

I've got a sneaking suspicion they're trying to completely force out Legacy figures from the market, given that aside from Ninja Storm (whose rumours are unsubstantiated), they're covering every single team they did. They're even doing the Metallics this early!

Oh fuck, man I would love a two-pack of the Raijya guys.

I wouldn't be surprised if, when they cover Hurricaneger; they put out the Gouraigers and Shurikenger as a priority just to one-up Legacy in a "see? We can actually complete our teams" sort of thing.

They are going to get to every season sooner or later. However, I think it makes sense to try to replace the Legacy stuff. Get people to change out their collection and then keep building on it.

That being said, I hope they eventually do Dairanger, even though they would have to call them "Legendary Ranger Mode" figures mostly likely. Could be neat if they came with tiny Ranger keys.

I can see it being some special exclusive thing for a certain store or during an anniversary year where they include those suits.

Dunno if this is the right thread, but what's the possibility of Hasbro being interested in doing older series' mecha? The Ryusoul mech with Transformers-tier has me thinking the other possible mecha like Magiking.

They did recently release a figure of the Zeo Megazord, and they also got another company to do a high-end figure for the Thunder Megazord, so it's likely they'll do every Megazord eventually.

Plastic quality and density is FAR better than I expected; these two have quite a bit of weight to them and are extremely balanced when I stand them up. Impressed in that aspect alone! There's details missing that do stand out at certain angles - and obvious issue with Abarekiller is obvious, but, I'm fine to wait for it to get sorted - but the figures as a whole look and feel wonderful. The female mold is also much better in person than in pictures; maybe it's the cape that's helping this, but Slayer's proportions really don't feel that off even when put next to Killer. Could probably be a bit beefier but nothing I have any real problem with.

What is slightly letting them down however at least right now is the packaging and the accessories. These two were a surprising struggle to pull out of their clamshells and Slayer in particular is packaged in such a baffling way; with her hands pushed under the shell so they need to be pulled out as you do it and her cape a separate piece also under the shell despite how she looks in the box. Nothing was damaged at least but it didn't exactly feel great. Talking of damages... my Slayer has quite a number of scratches on her thighs? Is this a widespread or at least kinda uncommon issue? They don't show up that well on the pink and with a voucher I was able to get her for £10 so I'm not exactly sending her back or anything but it wasn't a pleasant surprise.
Aside from that, the accessories are just not that great. Slayer's bow feels kinda sticky at first? Just a bit more gooey than I'm comfortable with; and then getting their weapons in their hands is also a bit of a struggle. You get em in there eventually and it does look good but boy does it feel like you're going to break something -- and it feels the same way for their hands! Really doesn't feel great pulling them out, and yeah; as I've complained many times before... it's a pretty paltry selection of hands. You at least get some okay options with what's there, and maybe I've been spoiled by SHF; but I think at least one more pair of hands would go a long, long way in improving their poseability options. As is I feel just a bit too limited in what I'm able to pull off, and Slayer's chopping hand is next to useless.


I do go on for a bit when I'm complaining, don't I? But don't let the volume of those complaints fool you; I meant what I said about them being fantastic otherwise, it's just there isn't a lot to say on that front! I have issues with the packaging and some niggles with the accessories, but otherwise these are figures that don't just look good but feel extremely solid and well-built in hand. This line's definitely getting a few more purchases from me!

Oh wow I. Didn't expect them to look that silly next to Goldar.

It's a combination of Goldar being under sized and King Sphinx being over sized. Pumpkin Rapper is about right as the added height mostly comes from the head. He more or less stands shoulder to shoulder with the ranger figures. Kings Sphinx though..... that thing is just giant. Really unfortunate as I was looking forward to making a monster display, but having Sphinx next to Zedd, Rita, and Goldar would just look crazy.

Yeah... I get what they were going for, but I'm not sure this was the best option.

Pumpkin Rapper is mostly ok, but I feel like his head is a bit TOO big.

Nah, Pumpkin Rapper is damn near perfect. Even the "missing" paint in the mouth and eyes is correct to the show. He could use a wash on the body maybe, but otherwise it is a very well done release.

Kings Sphinx.... so wrong. The head is missing key paint apps, like... all of them except the eyes. The head piece is too flat. It was much taller on the show and original toy. The scale is just WAY too big. Maybe it will work for an eventual Megazord release, but I would never pair him with Goldar or Rita looking like this.

I hope the next set of monsters stays in line with what they did with Pumpkin Rapper. Big, but not crazy big. Good accessories, decent paint. I see King Sphinx getting clearanced out while Pumpkin Rapper sells well.
