Very nice! Makes me wonder if they're gonna make the other Modules someday as accessory packs or something.
|
That makes sense for the extra switches now. They're turned-on versions! I'm loving how it looks, his modules look great all panel-lined! I wish they'd do other riders it would have been neat to see updated versions of Meteor and Nadeshiko!
|
I'm very curious how the Switches will be done. This has been a slight worry I realised yesterday; that gimmick items are so small and incredibly detailed that it could be difficult for FRS to replicate -- Wizard Rings and Shift Cars especially come to mind. So I wonder how they did the different colours for these Switches

I think the wizard rings will be pre-painted and the hands will have a hole/slot in them.
But we have seen tiny stickers. Agito's blue head gem is super tiny. And the black stickers around the eyes are so small I just gave up on them. Wizard's rings are bigger than that. I think the Fourze switches can go either way at this point. Those preview images always hide the stickers. It's surprisingly how small Bandai is willing to go on some parts. The old Build kit had individual tiny bottles and W's Gaia memories were not only small but had stickers. |
I think the Wizard rings will be moulded in black onto the hands with one wrap-around sticker.
|
In lieu with today's announcements for Fuuto Tantei, seems that it was forgotten that the Artisan kit for Double is out.

New images for FRS Fourze
https://bandai-hobby.net/item/4480/ technically it's the same image i posted earlier, but more clear. and no review from the blog yet |
You just gotta love those chunky proportions he's got. Looking way better than the SHF already.
|
I'm really not sure about that belt colour... granted it's definitely not an easy one to get down and it doesn't look bad, but the actual belt is much bluer

I think that's just lighting. It looks close enough to me. I'm just glad it ended up being semi-transparent instead of a solid blue or Grey.
|
The Fourze kit looks awesome! I can't wait to pick it up. All the celebrations and promotions surrounding the 10th anniversary really got me hyped.
I'm not crazy about Fourze the Kamen Rider, but I secretly really love Fourze as a show because the lead writer worked on Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill and it shows. |

https://www.1999.co.jp/itbig77/10777902n.jpg the decals, aand idk which one is a "realistic decal" |
i see no stickers for the switches, so ig it will be just plain black
btw here's where get the pics https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/m/10777902 |
The realistic decal is the one with the blue back. Which is, weird, you think they would just call what it actually, that being stickers.
|
Damn. Get ready to panel line and paint some fine details. Black switches is kind of a let down. I know it's a small detail, but when everything up to release shows them with color, I kind of expected them to at least be colored pieces.
|
Well that... sucks, I thought they were doing something for the black lines on the body.
|
Something interesting from the instructions; it looks like they're not doing the silver stickers behind the eyes that's been standard for everyone except Ex-Aid
https://www.1999.co.jp/itbig77/10777902z.jpg |
I suppose that's because the backing behind the eyes are already white, so it's not like the eyes would dimmer.
Still, not a hard fix. |
Yeah Realistic Decals usually refers to stickers that have a clear backing, which means you won't see the white edge of regular sticker and the semi-transparency gives the illusion of paint. Ex-Aid had a whole duplicate sticker sheet of them. Hibiki used them for the forearms gradient effect.
Interesting. There are tiny tiny white stickers on the biceps. The belt switches are all stickers, which makes sense, but that's a lot of tiny stickers. All the switches are indeed black. That will be a paint to paint! Whole colors are all white would've been better. That weird set of silver stickers are for the drill module. And the white ring stickers are for the inside of the should joint. That's a funny detail they figured was worth a sticker. |
I'm really tempted to buy two kits for double rocket module and Rocket States. Seems like an easy repaint?

They'll almost certainly do Rocket States as a webshop exclusive
|
Looking at the manual, the rocket plugs into the hole where the hands would be. Sort of like how the Core Gundams plug their gauntlets on.
So, it's very possible, and also pretty much a signal imo for a Rocket States to happen. If only needing a bit of widening the hole in case. |
Here's a closer look at the unpainted black switches
https://twitter.com/oz_revo/status/1...343816/photo/1 This looks like an out-of-box straight build with black panel liner. Those orange stickers don't look too bad! |

For the lines; woild a gundam marker work?
|
That's what I'm going to try first. Black panel line Gundam marker comes in a lot of marker sets. If that doesn't look great, I'm going to be very careful with some black wash/paint and a toothpick.
|
Switches I can accept and expected, but the orange lines on his suit being decals is honestly bullshit. As is the lack of foil backing for the eyes. Some of these kits are seeming two steps forward, two steps back. I'm wondering what compromises OOO will have to offset the tampographed chest symbol.
|
The real bummer is that the orange stickers on the torso go onto white parts. Bellow the waist they go into black parts. Trying to paint both of those to match is gonna be rough.
And yeah a Gundam Panel Liner marker (GM01) should work perfect here. |
Shouldn't be too bad if you prime in the same color, right? Do a black primer, throw some silver over it, then a clear orange or something if you have the means. At the very least, you could buy a can of white spray paint for the black pieces and then go over it with an orange marker or something after? Not the best solution, but it's something. Stickers might be best depending on the part.

It really ought to ave been separate parts. It's prevalent enough to warrant its own gate on the A runner, there's no real reason it can't be separated. Parts separation is always preferable to painting, even if you plan to paint it anyway, because of the aforementioned masking issues. Bandai makes these kits so user-friendly and sometimes has great colour separation and then sometime they just phone it in. |
From the same account ShiShiLeo shared earlier

One thing I wish the FRS figures did is have the different scales and sizes like the Gunpla's do i.e. 1/144, 1/100, etc. Maybe that'll come with time but I think that would be a huge thing for the Kamen Rider figure brand.
|
Quote:
But I think the reason that they don't do different scales is because we already have SO-DO/SHODO. And the Artisan line's 1/8(?) scale line. |
I think also the kits just aren't that popular yet. They're definitely growing more popular with time, but not quite at the level of different scales
