Currently watching Stronger. I've seen the first three episodes and so far, I'm not really impressed. The first episode was pretty uninteresting, the second was okay, the third had at least some excitement. I really don't like how Tackle is mostly damsel in distress so far, but I hope that gets better over time. Let's see what the show has in store.

I believe the Gaiden's are subbed by a groups called orange lion, they seem new to subbing kamen rider from the looks of things.

They aren't interfering with the plot anyways, they tell side-stories that have no real impact on the show. And they are not labeled as a side-universe like the Gaim Movie or anything, so I'll say they're canon.

And like Worf said the Lion dudes subbed, I posted the link a few pages back, pretty solid subs. Make sure to download the recent patch though.

Yuriko has her moments, but don't expect her to ever take down a MotW by herself. She mostly just fights the mooks. She does have some damsel moments, but it's usually her and Tachibana Tobei getting captured together. Generally speaking, she's about as badass as a 1970s female sidekick was ever going to be.

On the whole, I like Stronger, but I don't think it really kicks into high gear until the Delza Army replaces Black Satan. Before that it's solid, but not really up to par with the other classic Showa series. It's a late starter like Blade and, apparently, Drive.

The problem is everything I have Gaim wise is from Aesir, not Nihon. Getting Nihon's subs will screw up the consistency and style.

One of Kuuga's biggest strengths is the pacing of it's episodes and how it weaves powerups into the narrative in such a way that it avoids the "red ranger Battelizerzer" problem. None of his forms feel gimmicky or underused.

Maybe not "gimmicky," but I do think Amazing Mighty could have gotten more time in the spotlight.

Currently watching Den-O. Only about 8 episode in, but I'm enjoying it so far. It's a fun series. I do have some questions though, that hopefully won't go unanswered in the show.

I've finished Kamen Rider Agito. It's on par with Kuuga for me and one of my favorite shows so far. I won't make a full on review since spoilers, but I really enjoyed the show.

It surpasses Kuuga in characterization and the overall storyline, the only thing that brings it down for me a little bit are the Lords. They are just boring plot-tools compared to the Gurongi which had personalities and agendas of their own. And while I really appreciated the storyline revolving the Overlord and mankind/the Agitos and I have to admit they are on a much larger scale, the final battle with Kuuga vs. Daguva was much more intense and epic IMO.

I love Agito and Kuuga for their characters, Agito has more lovable and memorable characters and I do feel they are better executed. With Kuuga you only really had Godai and Ichijo, the rest of the bunch were obvious side-characters, Agito handled that better. Both with the other Riders and non-Rider characters.

In my book both shows take place in the same universe, even though only a few words in the first couple of episodes hint on this. But after I searched around on the net I found other clues which are handled in books and novels, the most interesting IMO being that the Lords are actually of the Linto-tribe from Kuuga, taken in by the Overlord and transformed into his angels.

One thing that I do need to say is that in the final episodes Agito picked up interesting plots and handled them very well, Kuuga on the other hand was all about the way to the last fight, and the ending in Agito is not as corny as Kuuga's. It's short and takes a backseat to the storylines that started in the last episodes and the plot lines that still needed to be resolved, I liked that a lot.

Overall both Kuuga and Agito take the second place of favorite Rider-show for me and I'm absolutely willing to recommend these to everyone even remotely interested in Kamen Rider. If you do want to watch those, watch Kuuga first. Not only will you appreciate Agito's improvements more, you'll also get the feeling of watching one big show with two seasons. Two very good seasons.

I mostly agree with you, I also consider Agito and Kuuga very close in quality, and I really like them too.

Important question of Agito, what was your opinion of one of the franchise's biggest jerkbags, Toru Hojo ?

Note Ryuki can be really dark sometimes although that is a common thing in the first five tv seasons of the heisei era.

Also the phrase for Ryuki is "If you do not fight you will not survive"
