Whelp, I've been thinking of watching either Kiva or Hibiki. The reason is the only seasons I've left to watch are Kiva, Hibiki, Blade, Faiz, Agito and Kugga, so I've bee thinking of watching backwards, but I've heard things about Kiva, so which one?

It's still wonderful at any time of year though. |

If the choice is Kiva or any other Rider show, always pick the other Rider show. Even Faiz. |

Agito and Kuuga are also pretty cool. |

Currently I'm watching Gaim and attempting to watch Drive though I havent had the time or desire to do so....the design of drive just throws me off. Most of it looks great until you get to the giant Tire across his chest.

Stronger Episode 1: I move back to the Showa Era after Hibiki. It's time to get Stronger! Honestly very solid first episode for a Showa series. I enjoyed Shigeru a lot, I found him very fun and has that brash personality that I love in my characters. I heard he was a bit of a dick in the first episode but I just thought of him as someone who likes fighting and saving the day. Egotistical definitely but he pulls it off so well. I love his confidence and there is just something about someone calling himself Stronger I just love. Tackle was pretty cool too, definitely reminds me of secondary rider with appearing first before the main rider in some of the Heisei Series. The fighting was awesome, I love Shigeru's fighting style using ground attacks, and lots of kicks. I love his video record function and his electric attacks. I can't wait to see more of how Stronger's story comes along.

Lace and I have taken a small break from Fourze, we're currently looking for another series to watch. Any sug- *body contorts horrifically as red strand of die appears in hair* Ore... SANJOU!

Blade 9:
It was pretty ok. Wesker's Undead form is pretty cool looking. |
Stronger Episode 2: The Secret Origin of Shigeru Jo; Now I really wish I didn't know anything about Stronger going into this episode because this would have been like holy hell, so amazing and you know it is holy hell, so amazing lol. I really love his whole plan to get changed by the people who he wants to destroy and avenge his friend. Mister Titan is a very intriguing villain, I like his look it looks distinguished for a cyclops. I also like that the cyborgs of Black Satan take over people and use them. Definitely very Showa but in a good way so far. Tackle is really cool, and I still don't understand why she isn't a Kamen Rider. Stronger's fighting style is awesome, I love all the jump kick he does, and that he explodes the enemy when he makes contact with them. Anyways I can't wait for more.

Anyway, joke aside (though seriously, she IS that weak), I think in the Kamen Rider Spirits manga Shigeru said that he didn't want Tackle to be called Kamen Rider because of the meaning behind the name. Something along the lines of a Kamen Rider being caught in endless suffering and fighting and Shigeru wanted to spare Yuriko from that destiny. Or something. |

Yeah I think we all know how much living she wound up doing......
In other news Gaim is hitting all the right notes with me right now I just got to Kachidoki Arms and god do i love it more than i did seeing the SHF for it. |

Stronger Episode 3: Yay Tachibana's return, I loved him in X and he is such a fun character playing the same role he always does. Tackle got chumped here again but atleast she comes back and kicks some of the Black Satan's soldiers butts making up for it. I love Stronger so much he is so awesome; I love his whistle that freaks out enemies before he comes, his electric and magnetism powers, his way he uses his powers, and his personality is so much fun. I also love all his S shirts too. I love the whole back and forth with him and Mister Titan as well. Black Satan is a very intriguing enemy with taking over humans and manipulating things I am really enjoying them as an evil organization. Overall Stronger is pretty strong right now. I can't wait for more.

Anyways moving back to STRONGER! Stronger Episode 4: I have to say I love the pacing of each episode of Stronger it gets you right into the threat and how Shigeru and Yuriko deal with it. This has to be Tackle's best episode yet the only thing she couldn't take care of was the main turtle enemy but she kicked the crap out of all the henchmen. Tachibana was fun to see him be possessed by the monster and be evil for once. Shigeru stole the show for me again, he is so much fun, he kicked henchmen and monster butt. Also I loved his electric stream move and how he electrocuted the Turtle Monster in the Water, that must have hurt a lot. I also like his Kabuto Tracker ability too. Honestly a lot of fun this show and I can't wait for more. |

The "continuity" between all the Showa Riders was pretty loose anyway that it very well was the equivalent of having Faiz visiting Blade, in that it makes no internal logical sense but its a crossover so it doesn't have to.
|
To be fair all the riders appearing in the next series I thought they were just travelling so it makes some sense.
Stronger Episode 5: They got to the action quick here, and I love that there is about 3 fight scenes per episodes, it's glorious. I also love the fact that Shigeru literally takes off his gloves to transform and get serious. I am loving Mister Titan, he is a very good villain; I like that he was yelling at the monster; Why are you fighting? You have one job do it! Tackle didn't get chumped again so that's awesome she was pretty kick ass and that poor Black Satan soldier that got impaled in his eye. Shigeru was pretty intelligent in tracking the monster's next target and manage to stop him in time. Also I love that he has magnetic powers to redirect metal objects back at his opponents. That they showed and used American Football is awesome and I love that Shigeru is interested in it too. Tachibana was helpful too and I loved him using the giant tree branch and helping Shigeru fight too. Well I definitely said I love so many different parts of this episode and well why not, this show is fantastic right now and I am loving Shigeru a lot. I can't wait for more. |
Sorry I've been gone so long. A lot has happened in my life, some quite bad, some quite good. It is great to be back though.
Finally giving OOO a real shot, and I am actually kinda digging it haha. Still need to watch Drive, but no PC right now makes that difficult. Only a few eps into OOO, so not sure what I plan to watch next. Ryuki, Hibiki and Faiz are my top 3, maybe a season closer to them in tone, probably Kabuto, which I started a while back but put on hold. |

Agito.
but watch Kuuga before Agito. |
I really want to watch Kuuga before Agito, they've been on my list, but the app I use on my phone to watch right now doesn't have Kuuga on it at all :(
Edit: Was actually about to watch Kiva before I started on OOO. May go that route unless I find an easy way to watch Kuuga on my phone, I'd watch Agito immediately after. |

After 12 episodes I am officially 1/4 of the way into OOO, so I should probably jot down my thoughts so far.
Anything Goes is probably my least favorite opening theme of the seasons I've watched. It's not bad, I just don't really care for it all that much. It sure as hell is no Alive A Life or Shonen Yo (technically the closing theme, but it is still Hibiki's real theme). I do like how each combo has its own theme though. Not much to say story-wise, it is still very much a monster of the week story at this point with little hints towards the overarching plot. At 1/4 of the way through, this seems acceptable. Eiji is a pretty likable lead, I can see why some people really like him. OOO as a rider took a while for me to come around on, and was part of what kept me from committing to watching the show until now. Just the motif and gimmick didn't resonate with me. It has grown on me and I do really like some of the combos. Ankh is awesome, a great foil for Eiji and I'm sure interesting things will happen because of him. Gotou I like enough. He's had a decent bit of development, but unless he becomes the secondary rider I can't imagine him staying super relevant. They seem to be building him up for that though. Dr. Maki and his doll are creepy, enough said. Kougami (I think that's right) is an interesting individual, no idea if his birthday obsession is just his thing or has a deeper meaning. Could easily see him being the big bad or a surprising ally. Rest of the supporting cast I don't really care much about. I am pretty damn sure that Shino's sister's super strength is more than just a weird toku quirk, has to mean something. I like the Yummy/Greeed dynamic, its interesting and I like the concept behind the Greeed and their motivation. That said, while some of tgeir designs are cool and each at least has a more or less unique personality I really don't find the Greeed all that interesting. Both the main cast of Orphenocs and the Sonozaki family were far better, more interesting and complex villains that (especially the Orphenocs) had amazing and dramatic interactions and relations with the core cast of heroes. Overall I am enjoying the season more than I expected to, it's still pretty low on my list so far, but I am glad I finally am giving it a go. |

Alive A Life is one of my least favorite openings and Anything Goes is one of my favorites. Haha. Similarly, it's so strange to me that of all things the motif and gimmick are what you have a hard time getting behind. They're one of if not my favorite parts about OOO. How can you not like the things I like!? I guess since this is the internet that means I have to hate you forever. It's not by choice, those are just the rules. :rolleyes |
Yeah, we're like..mortal enemies now or something.
|
So I just finished Den-O
While not my favorite Rider series ever, I thought it was pretty solid. I found it very entertaining (most due to the Imagin), and would definitely recommend everyone to give it a shot |
Been going through Blade. Just got to Jack Form. Wow, Broken Blade is so nothing. Why wasn't that just an alt head for the regular SHF?
