Episode 2 of Liveman. LiveRobo doesn't look that horrible, but alot of this show is really damn confusing and hard to follow. :eyebrow

I actually think the mecha of old, in all their cardboard glory, are actually kinda better. The flat, boxy designs meant there was less auxiliary shit sticking out and flapping around drawing attention to how cheap it all is.

I mean you would think after twenty years they'd finally have the technology to make the mech fights not look like a man in a cheap costume, on an even cheaper scaled set, but I kinda forgot that sentai hasn't really tried anything new for about fifteen years and whenever it does it meets such a scathing reaction we get another kid friendly series about dinosaurs.

How exactly? Liveman was pretty easy to follow when I watched it.

Bias is just a super intelligent guy who recruits smart people and pits them against each other to turn their evil plans into point scoring matches. That's all you need to know 2 episodes in.

That makes Liveman sound really cool.

It is, I highly recommend that show.
