Gen 1 and Gen 2 got remade for the simple reason that the GBA and DS couldn't interact and trade with GB and GBC cartridges, leaving a large gap of unavailable Pokemon. Remaking Gen 3 would be a waste of time that could be spent further expanding Gen 6. It would only serve as nostalgia bait for a poor game that gets relentless praise for the most trivial of introductions and gimmicks. It's unneeded and would divert man power for no proper reason beyond "Because people can't stop bitching for one."

If I've been too subtle over the entire thing, I hated Generation 3 of Pokemon.
