Let's just say they were "wiped out" by aliens millions of years ago. Now they have risen again. The alien's accidentally mutate them while attempting to kill them and that mutation allowed them to survive in a hibernation state. Last post for the day, I'm off to bed. I'll reply to anything in the morning.

So...we're ditching the magical aspect?
|
the dinosaurs can use magic
|
but they're brought to life by aliens?
|
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Why do we have to involve aliens at all? or even mutation for that matter. Why complicate things or give them any more reason for motive by forming grudges? They were the rulers of the earth, disappeared, and now humanity has taken their place. They just want to return to their former glory by eradicating the new life that stands in their way. From their point of view, I'd imagine that would be all the motive they'd need.
|
Well yeah but why would they disappear and why did they chose to destroy humans than co exist with them? I don't have anything against the typical genocidal villain but I think its better to have villains that have logical or sympathetic motives.
Or we could divide the story's kaijin into those who want humans gone and those who are fine with sharing the earth with them and maybe have humans stuck between a war of both sides. |
Completely forget about my idea about aliens, they have nothing to do with magic. We need to get back in to a magic theme.

Maybe, millions of years ago, there was a race that were the predecessors of modern humans. They looked like us, but were not completely evolved. This race included the Shaman. The Shaman led that race in a fight to get rid of the dinosaurs. He used his magic to put them in eternal hibernation, but to the that he had to sacrifice himself and he ended up in a state of hibernation also. After millions of years, the Shaman and the Extinct (what they're called now) wake up because the Shaman's spell broke, but have transformed. The Wxtinct now want to destroy the descendants of their enemies, the modern day humans. The Shaman is found by the museum and he aids them and Ray.
|
And bacng villain back story formed and since the Shaman helps the museum the belt can have that magical power source while still being technologically based.
Maybe later on as say the mid season upgrade he could attain a shaman like form giving him access to the mystical aspect then the final form could represent the fusion of magic and tech |

I think some of the villains siding with humanity and Paleo himself might be interesting. That's where the secondary rider(s) could come in. To screw everything up. Maybe in a similar fashion to how the shaman created the basis of the Paleo Driver, the Extinct with evil intentions create a driver and use a selected human of their own to wipe out the ones who are helping their enemy. |
