Heavy Rain is a great game, but heavily flawed. I disagree about the first hour being boring though, as I enjoyed seeing how everything was after his son's death.

Crazy addicted to the card wars app at the moment... Stupid Money grabbing system is a massive let down with it, especially for a paid app, but I'm still really enjoying it.
Also got the new pokemon link/trozei game... never been a big fan of puzzle games, but this is so fast and crazy I'm really digging it. The pokemon theming helps too of course. |
There's apparently an unlockable minigame in Tatsunoko vs Capcom.
I looked up the method to unlocking it and... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWLqqswCcyE |

Played another hour or two and I'm really getting into Heavy Rain now. I guess now I've gotta convince myself of Uncharted or that'll be the game I end up chucking first.

On Day 3 of Devil Survivor.

Played more inFAMOUS 2, absolutely loving it. I originally took the evil route on inFAMOUS 2 as it's just easier, but with the introduction of Nix I'd happily ride (with) her to hell.

I freaking love Kart Racers. All Stars Racing Transformed is just so damn fun! It also made me want a remastered version or modern sequel to Burning Rangers. |
I find it odd and sad, that Second Son is a PS4 exclusive, considering Sony themselves said they want to keep the PS3 alive and that games like Fifa 14 are still being release ON THE PS2.
I wonder if we'll get a port further down the line. I hope so. |
Ooo i made it to one of my favorite bits in Dual destinies!

Thunderbirds, Rescue Heroes, Lightspeed Rescue/GoGo-V, Tomica Rescue Force/Fire, Burning Rangers, all several years old. And Rescue Bots isn't nearly enough to satisfy my love of Rescue! Rescue is awesome people! We want more! |
Played the shit out of Heavy Rain and inFAMOUS 2 today.
inFAMOUS 2 is one of the best games I have ever played, probably second only to the utter masterpiece that was the first BioShock. I'm serious. Like I've played the Crackdowns, I've played the Prototypes but none of them truly give that sense of power like this game does. When I was riding with Nix I may have been evil but I was also UNSTOPPABLE, the world was ours and it was GLORIOUS. I actually stopped myself going full on darkside though, when the game gave me a second chance. Currently I'm on the second stage of being good, as the game makes it a LOT easier to play as a good guy. Plus I got Ice Powers out of it, which is pretty damn awesome. Meanwhile Heavy Rain is probably the only thing to treat women worse than sentai but on the flip side the sheer amount of ridiculous action sequences in Heavy Rain keep it entertaining, and I can't think of many games where I have to down a bottle of vodka, make myself sick, then get in the shower while imagining I'm inside a forest, all to detox from a made up drug. Plus it really does feel like the game is coming together, which is nice after it meandered so much at the start. Probably gonna trade in Uncharted tomorrow, and maybe pick up Resistance Fall of Man as that is a PS3 exclusive, and then maybe grab the Amazing Spider-Man tie in game as I've been meaning to play that for ages and I've really enjoyed the superhero cashins recently, like the Captain America one, the Green Lantern one and the Wolverine Origins one. Bad movies seem to make great tie in games. Also grabbed MotorStorm Apocalypse off of eBay so it should arrive this week hopefully. |

I really love the sticky grenade though, considering it's the "good" grenade, I find it odd how brutal it is. Sticking it on an enemy and watching all of his friends run from him before he explodes :lol Plus the sheer devastation of the ice super move is really epic. I mean the tornado was cool, especially as I was evil so it was red and black like I fired an attack from Ichigo's Bankai but there is something glorious about freezing every enemy around me and running around smashing them all. |

Were Nix's powers fire? I always thought she had tar powers.

Still, gotta love the harmony of fire, ice, and lightning. http://pldh.net/media/dreamworld/199.png |
I genuinely had no idea Nix had fire powers, since all she did was capture people in those black column things and teleport around the place. Unlike Kuo who actually used ice, I don't think I've ever seen Nix use a fire attack.
Now you've described Nix's powers as granted to Cole, it sounds so awesome, I'm glad to get the chance to play the other side of the fence but I'm almost regretting not picking this powers? At least Nix forgives me. |

Besides, you'll have to play through it twice anyway. There are two endings like the first game, one good and one evil. They are very twist ending-y, so I won't give away the details beyond that the two endings exist. |

I really didn't like the first one when I played it, but that was like four years ago and around a friends. I do plan on picking it up though and having another crack at it, I also heard the save carries? So that might be my incentive to see the second ones second ending. |

I played my two new games today.
Resistance SUCKS but MotorStorm Apocalypse is loads of fun, it's a shame the online is dead. |

I love arcade racers, they are frustrating as anything but I feel the simulation racers drain all the fun out of a race. Plus I've always been pretty good at them, not that you can tell since the only people who play online are veterans with lightspeed cars.

I'm sure everyone knows there are those games they can just go back to time and time again because they're just so addicting to you...
Right now I'm playing StarTropics on my old NES again, and the magic is still there for me. I remember renting the game so much for our local video store as a kid. In fact, I believe it was the game I rented the most out of any other game. I didn't want to return it for fear of a kid erasing all my work. It is seriously still fun for me, much like TMNT IV: Turtles in Time, another game I go back to time and time again, but can beat in an afternoon. StarTropics takes time, but it never really feels boring, and I still remember the code you have to input at a certain point in the game by heart. StarTropics II: Zoda's Revenge on the other hand... I do wish Nintendo would revisit the franchise though. |
Welp, like everything else in Canada video games are now 5 bucks more expensive.
Which means games that were 39.99 now cost 45, and big console releases are around 70. |
To kill time till conception 2 i've been playing through Kingdom Hearts 3D.

I'm actually pretty sour on Motorstorm already, lol. Skyline is like THE hardest track I've ever raced around, you can't make the jumps without boost but the car is so hard to control with my boost as soon as you land you're sent spiralling into one of the fifty thousand traps placed at every section. It's been years since I got so frustrated with a game so early on.
Online isn't much better, being a noob on a game where the only people still playing it are all like over level sixty really really sucks. I've never understood the online gaming system of better stuff for higher levels, it makes sense in the single player campaign but it breaks the multiplayer for people like me. Even if I was the greatest player in the world, I physically can't do anything if they have better shit than me. |

I wanted to grab Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeros but the extra 5 bucks plus the length made me hesitant to do so. |

Still playing/and loving inFAMOUS 2. Although Nix had a lot of the better options at the start, this later game certainly shows Kuo's strengths. I'm becoming more and more of a hero, and it feels right in a way it didn't at the beginning.
It's just worrying that the more I side with Kuo the greater Nix appears to becoming my enemy and I really don't want to be on her bad side. Say what you like, but when me and Nix were tearing up the city I never felt like Kuo was ready to actually physically murder me. |
I don't know why I'm relearning Super Street Fighter 4 in preparation for Ultra. Not a damn soul I know is gonna fucking buy it, let alone play it.
