Well if the news is legit yes it would be done by Marvel Studios.
|
If legit:
HOORAY! SONY'S FILM DIVISION CAN SUCK IT WE GOTS ANOTHER SPIDER ON THE AVENGERS BITCHES! If not: Fuck this shit. Now I have to add this to my list of disappointments this week, right after losing that auction. |
I'm skeptical, especially since Sony won't be entirely out of the picture. But if it means an end to the crap films, I'm supportive, although Marvel has done just fine without Spidey. Honestly, I'd be more excited about a Jessica Drew announcement.
|
Jessica would be great to see. If this happens though I think for now this will just be confined to Civil War. With Marvel having there future so heavy planned out I dont think we will get a new Spidey solo film from them until the whole Infinity War stuff is over. Could be wrong though and they will try to give him his solo movie before that.
|
I guess I'd like to see him back in the fold, but it feels like they've done so much without Spidey that making such a big deal about it seems like a crutch or a step backwards. I dunno.

*Sees Logan Lerman as Marvel's choice.* ... NO. NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. NO. |

My dream even if highly unlikely would be for them to give Spidey his own Netflix/TV show since I always thought that Spidey works better in a longer serialized format instead of movies. |

And yeah, Spidey for Marvel is definitely a plus. I don't know how they would pull off the whole Civil War storyline without Spidey. Right now, Marvel has a grand total of one character with a secret identity and that's Daredevil. |
I personally love the new Spider-Man movies and I feel like it's way too soon for another reboot when we just got a second movie. Not to mention I didn't think the second movie was as bad as most people make out to be. I would take it over Spider-Man 3 any day of the week.

I'm a type of person who feels like that they should finish things first before they start over. How many times can we tell the same story of Peter Parker becoming Spider-Man? I want Sony to do Amazing Spider-Man 3 then let Disney take over.

TASM2 did less money than TASM did so Sony will most likely project that a third film will do even less money. So for them to partner up with the money making machine that is Marvel Studios would be the better way for them as a business. As a Fan? I dont care at this point. While I enjoyed the TASM movies I have no real connection to them. They are fun movies but nothing that rally grabbed me beyond the effects and the Peter/Gwen relationship thats why I will look forward to a possible Marvel Studios version. |
Hey—you guys remember that Spider-Woman #1 variant cover, right? Y'know, that horrible abomination against art that Milo Manara violently injected into the world, much to our ire and despair?

Marvel gives Spider-Woman a modern makeover - USA Today The new story-arc begins with Issue 5, illustrated by Javier Rodriguez, AKA an artist much better than Greg Land. |
I don't like it. Nothing wrong with the old suit, I loved that old suit.

As for the costume, I'm partial to the other because it's what I grew up on. It will always be my favorite, despite its flaws. The new one has some good bits and bad bits, but it does seem derivative of the new Batgirl costume, at least from an outsider's perspective. |

I like the new suit too. The old one was perfectly fine but I like seeing some of the heroes change their outfits from time to time :)

And while I will definitely miss the mask, I think it's about time that Jessica Drew got a new costume. And frankly? I LOVE this redesign. |

The old costume was much better. |

As for the new Batgirl... er, Spider-Woman costume, it's not bad. I love the glasses and the new emblem. The rest of it is pretty mediocre, though. At the end of the day, though, she still isn't Julia Carpenter so whatever. |
At the very least, the new costume is able to convey the fact that she's a spider-based superheroine better than the original.

About to get my Venom Vol 1 in the mail soon. Can't wait to start reading some Flash Thompson! How do you guys feel about this story & character? I'd like some insight before I happen to delve into the comic myself. Thanks in advanced!

Mike Colter has been cast as Luke Cage.
http://www.superherohype.com/news/32...vels-luke-cage Never heard of him before now to be honest... |
Havent heard of him either but I like that Marvel is once again going for more unknown actors to portray these characters.
|
I think he was mentioned in the articles with Krysten Ritter's casting as playing Cage.

Sat down to finally read Original Sin in one sitting. I enjoyed it more than reading it month to month but it also showed more of the problems the book has. Frist of the positives. The Art is great Mike Deodato delivers on pretty much every page of every issue. His splash pages are breathtaking and you never loose track of whats going on. He creates great atmosphere and I loved his panel layouts. The dialogues were also very well written for most of the story even if what was actually said wasnt that interesting.
The first four issues (counting the zero issue) of Original Sin are very very good. Giving us great background for the watcher and makes us care about him so it hits us right where it should when we learn of his death. The mistery is unfolding quite nicely without feeling like its strechted out and even the big cast of characters is nicely utilized. Issue three especially uses its characters quite effectively and manages to pack in a great twist at the end. With issue four though the story takes a turn for the worst. Nothings feels likes its really progressing anymore and while issue five for example helps flesh out some things necessary for the story it just feels kinda empty. The giant cast of characters now becomes the downfall of the book since everyone is at the same place you can tell that Jason Aaron had a hard time giving everyone meaningful things to do. The whole mistery that started with issue one now turns into something completely different and I dont know if I like that aspect of the story. It changes a long established character into an obsessed maniac and we are supposed to accept this really big revelation without much time given to let it set in. The final act of Original Sin is just one big action scene with everyone getting beat up far too easy by only one single character and it feels really forced that he can just take care of every single Avenger like it takes him no effort at all. Within the context of the story it kinda makes sense but its still just too out there for me to really get behind. Once the big revelation of who killed the Watcher and why he did it hits I just didnt care anymore. Nothing Original Sin does at the end feels earned in any way shape or form and just makes me question why? Why did this story need to happen? It wasnt "bad" but it wasnt really "good" either. It just feels unnecessary. |
Hmm, interesting viewpoint here. I'm still getting my feet wet in the current MU but I've seen & heard lots of reactions to Original Sin. People are divisive since one side loves the surprise & its reveal/retcon while others, like you, believe this to be taking away from the cast. Do you think you would've enjoyed it more if the established character had moments of this obsessive mentality & behavior shown prior to?
|
It would have been something that I had liked to see.
Yes the character we get to see is not so different from how he usually acts but him being so completely obsessive with this one last job that he would even kill the Watcher to get what he wants is a bit too much for me. We get hints that he hated the Watcher beforehand and the way how the Watcher operates but it was still not enough for me to really get investet in the characters actions. The revelation felt extremely rushed which is ironic since alot of the book feels like its stretched out too long. A problem this book has by the halfway mark is that the Watcher is not the central part of the mystery anymore. He becomes more of a plot device and the mystery revolves now around someone completely different and by issue 6 you can tell who really killed the Watcher but thes still drag it out for two issues like its still the main focus of the story. And on top of that is just that I dont get why this story needed to exist in the first place. No character that was involved really profits from this storyline. Yeah The Orb maybe does but with characters like Thor you could have gotten him to this point without having Original Sin happening. There were answers we needed for the end to fel statisfying like why Bucky Barnes decides to become the new Man on the Wall or why Nick Fury is the new Watcher. Yeah the last part is supposed to be taken ironic that the character that was so obsessed with stopping threats from happening that he would kill a being like the Watcher is now forced to spent his eternity being chained to the moon only able to observe but not to intervene. Yet again I´m asking why did this need to happen. Why with this character? It just feels completely unnecessary. |
I picked up Ms. Marvel 1 and 2 I like them, and I can relate to some of the issues presented in this comic so far. I can say, as a Muslim, that a lot of the stuff here is pretty accurate, so accurate it almost hurts. :lol Although I've never had any problems with the whole "wanting to be normal" thing like Kamala does.
As for Kamala. I like her so far. She's a cool character, and I can relate to her quite a bit. I find it kinda funny that she writes Avengers fanfics, considering that in there the Avengers are actual people. I hope we get an explanation as to how she got her powers, because so far it seems like they're pulling a Ghost Rider and going for a "We'll explain it later" type of a thing. One part I particularly liked in issue 2 was this little bit: http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/...12-720x487.jpg It's a really good quote for a superhero. The art is pretty good, but could be better. It doesn't particularly catch the eye quite the same way All New Ghost Rider does. Quote:
EDIT: So, I was reading through the Fantastic Four stuff, and I think that idea for Human Torch actually sounds super cool! I'm just imagining him burning white and taking down like, Thanos or something, |
Fucking jesus. Holy shit. This movie sounds like a compacted clusterfuck.

Listened a bit to it but meh not interested. Like the guy said it could very well just have been a first draft and its unlikely at the moment that the movie is even going to happen.
