The Grongi continue to grow in power, shouldn't be long before Godai is struggling against them again.
None of the family/friends matter, except that they're trying to show us how monsters wantonly killing people affects normal people. They're all super boring. :) |
the thing about the rising forms is that yes, they are really powerful.
almost.... TOO powerful. |
Nah, they're fine. Amazing Mighty, that one is almost too powerful.
|
Well considering it is a relative of Ultimate that isn't too surprising.

Kuuga 29.
Artist really has some place to be... Well, turtle grongi wrecks the place by chucking ball and chains everywhere. Godai gets warned that Rising Mighty might cause extreme pain in his right leg, and the girl from 20 episodes earlier (The one who took an important stone because they didn't solve No. 0's mystery from the get go) comes back to see the Grongi. And we're also teased with a new bike. The Grongi scenes still have pseudo importance, but because they speak a line of Linto before reverting back to Grongi, I still don't know what the fuck. |
I myself just started Kuuga earlier today. (I actually watched the first episode like a year ago but then didn't go back to it again for no real reason, so I'd mostly forgotten).
Anyway I got the first two episodes down. I like Godai, I like Ichijou, it's alright so far. |
The CGI is very dodgy, the pacing is very slow during some portions of it, and anyone that isn't Godai, Ichijou or the police is boring as hell, but I love it.
I like the Grongi mystery, I like that we learn their motives along with the police, and I like the progression of Kuuga's powers, that each has it's strengths and weaknesses, and that they're fairly clearly defined. I'm three episodes from the end on my second watch through of it. Then I'm going back to finish the last four episodes of Wizard and Gaim. Probably. |
Kuuga 30.
So that guy was the kid pretending to be an unidentified lifeform a few episodes back. Neat. Glad to see he isn't doing that again. However, life just shits on him when he tries to get his act together, and then the doctor blames him for getting angry that life fucked him? Huh... Anyway, the turtle grongi takes every hit Godai throws at him and actually manages to defeat Rising Titan. Godai, being Godai, recovers in less than 3 hours and is back to fighting. In the meantime, the police find the Grongi's other base, but they're long since gone. Ichijou also receives a new set of bullets that are more effective, but the current rifles can't handle the recoil, so they can't use them to their fullest yet. Anyway, Kuuga meets up with the turtle and starts brawling again, and thanks to Ichijou on the assist, using the bullets anyway to destroy the ball and chains the turtle used, Kuuga is able to properly fight (But not before using the Gouram to drag him to a relatively empty area). Going Rising Mighty, Kuuga delivers an explosive Rider Kick, creating a massive blast radius. Neat. Alright, I'll be honest. Kuuga has been on something of a pick up with the episodes involving the teacher and these most recent two. It has become fairly interesting as our characters develop more. But the side cast is reaching the point where they feel like the KRC post Meteor's introduction. They just stand around derping while Godai, Ichijou, and (Sometimes) Sawatori and the doctor work (Also, this one girl's crush on Kuuga and her joke of getting jealous of every girl within a 100 lightyear radius of Godai? Got sick of that the second time it happened). Let's hope the rise stays, or if it'll do what happened earlier and pull the rug from beneath me and reveal more of nothing despite building up to something big... Aside: The Grongi had subtitles when they spoke, but it was untranslated. That's bullshit. |

Also I think the dude punched the Doctor in the face so it's about time he returns the favor. Quote:

I love this because it's a natural reaction which I've never seen occurring in a Rider-show again. Quote:

Yeah, the kid isn't getting proper treatment and the doc is angry. But the punch happened after the doc was being a total asshole.
I think the police thing occurs next episode, since Yusuke and Ichijou only had a brief conversation about the levels of power Kuuga is reaching at this point. And she gets an episode, too? Huh. Okay. |
Yeah that's right, then it's happening soon. Not a big thing but I still like it, because you would expect giant explosions to harm someone while you're doing your cool poses in the foreground. But it will force a new element in the plot which I won't give away but I liked it a lot when it happened.
And yes, she does. And it has a nice build-up in a previous episode, it makes a lot of sense and you will feel bad for her. |

The audience doesn’t know about this at the beginning because the episode starts with Nana being mad and wanting to quit acting, Godai goes after her and she tells him the story, after which they have a nice motivation talk. I just liked this a lot because it is so realistic and stories like that rarely get told in a show where a Masked Rider is fighting against evil monsters, at least not like this. |
Oh, right right right. Thanks, I'd forgotten about that.

Stronger Episode 15: Well this is continuing my love of General Shadow; I love that he will sacrifice whatever Black Satan's doing just so he can try and kill Stronger. That his dedication to killing Stronger is so great that he will tell Stronger Black Satan's plans, or even just try to blow up the place and forget the plans. He is something very different from villains I've seen. Shigeru was great once again especially with tricking Shadow in the beginning acting blind, I love when he pulls things like that against Black Satan. Stronger was on a kick ass roll in this episode, he was kicking all kinds of ass with kick combos and punch combos, and jump, spinning Ultra Punches too. Tobei and Tackle were both very fun this episode too. Especially when Tobei thought he did the Electro-Wave Toss lol. Also had another one of my favorite things this show does of Stronger magically gets free from the dangerous situation without explaining how he did it at all, lol. It's just so hilarious that he does stuff like that. I love this show so much right now and I can't wait for more of Stronger's awesome antics.

Kuuga 31. The other clip show.
Because that's what the show needed. A second one. Well, grasshopper Grongi finally got his belt unlocked and he's starting a rampage. Meanwhile, the police are distancing themselves from Kuuga after the Rising Mighty's kick caused so much damage. |
Be sure to skip the New Year's Special. It's an extra long clip show, and I don't think there's any new or special info in it.
|
There's a THIRD one?!

It's not an episode proper, it's a double length special, it's labeled something like episode 43.5 where I got it from, but it's also called the New Year's Special.
|
If I remember correctly both specials are pretty much clip shows/recaps. I just skipped them when I watched due to reading that was pretty much what they are.
|
Oh, that episode. I was curious about what the .5 episode was. Well, I'm glad to know I can pass over it.
|
Y'all have me wanting to watch Kuuga now...thank you...and curse you
|
Mission freaking accomplished!

32.
Despite the chief knowing there were no casualties during the explosion, just through association, they can't properly side with Kuuga. This comes at a terrible time as the grasshopper starts menacing others again, and Kuuga needs the new bike. However, access is denied and he has to rely on the TryChaser. This turns out to be a bad call, as after a fight, the grasshopper manages to take the TryChaser...Well shit. Decent episode. Still talking about Gegeru. Still have no idea. |

Finished Episode 12 of Den-O, and oh man this show is so much fun. The Imagin are absolutely fantastic, I could watch these guys do shit all day. I've met the third one by the way, Kintaros, and he's great as well. Simple and quiet, yet strong and caring.
The only thing that's rather "eh" are TV-Nihon's subs... sometimes they translate Japanese phrases and names, sometimes they slap them in the subs and expect you to understand it, and there's no particular method behind it. Like if they do it once and have a second subtitle at the top of the screen which explains why they use certain nick-names, that would be great. The funny thing is: Sometimes they do that, like when Kintaros is calling Momotaros "Momonga", they explain that it is a Japanese flying squirrel. But most of the time they expect you to know what's up and it sucks. Like for example, I still don't know why Momotaros calls Hana "hanakusa onna" from time to time and why she's so pissed about it. I can only guess that it's some kind of malapropism with her name and another Japanese word but I don't know... I just pretend he called her "Bitch” or something. |
he's making fun of her nose.
