Through trading, I got 3 of the 5 Cosplay Pikachus (Rock Star, Wrestler and Pop Star. Still need Doctor and Fancy.), and for the hell of it, I'm leveling them up to Level 100.
|
Well I beat the Pokemon League in Soul Silver and none of my Pokemon were above level 43(Thank you awful level system)
Lance was a little annoying. His Dragonite's were still OHKOing my team even with -2 Attack from Intimidates from my Staraptor. I had to stall his final Dragonite out of Blizzard PP in order for Golem to take it out. My team is was this when I won Typhlosion lvl43 Gloom lvl41(Didn't feel like saving up points for a Leaf Stone at the PokeAthlon so I decided to wait until Kanto) Staraptor lvl41(I was going to use Dodrio, but I didn't have the Beach area in my Safari Zone to catch a Doduo) Golem lvl42 Tauros lvl43 Lanturn lvl42 I had to trade over a Lucky Egg with Starly to train easier. I'm currently in Kanto and I'm training everyone to level 50 before taking on the Kanto Gyms in correct order(Brock-Blue) |

Now that i'm done with X i have no idea what to do beyond the post game. I mean all my training is done in ORAS these days.
What i do want to do is put my X team up against my AS team and see which one is more powerful! ...But i don't have two 3DS's to try this out. Quote:

So there's rumors online right now that Satoshi Tajiri might show up at E3 this year. People are expecting Red and Green Remakes to be announced.
But, I just beat Misty in SS. Her Lapras was irritating because it kept surviving with 1 HP and Misty used 2 Full Restores on it and it caused my Lanturn to run out of PP for Discharge. Luckily, I still had Vileplume to take care of Starmie and Quagsire. Vileplume almost lost to Starmie but survived an Ice Beam with 5 HP and took out Starmie with Giga Drain for the win. Typhlosion lvl52 Staraptor lvl51 Lanturn lvl53 Vileplume lvl52 Tauros lvl51 Golem lvl50 Next up is Lt. Surge and Golem should make this next battle easy. |

I actually really want a Yellow remake, i mean gen 6 does have the thing where Pikachu's voice is the one from the anime like in Yellow.
|
Red and Green remakes? I mean, I'm all up for a good game, but I would definitely appreciate a return to Kalos at least one more time first.
|
Unless they perform a major rehaul like HG/SS, I do not want another set of Gen 1 remakes...
|
I'm assuming they'd change the story with the modern way of Pokemon storytelling. Like Giovanni would go "We want money because morality!"

For now it's just speculation. |
For some reason I would love to see another Pokemon game where the catchable Pokemon are strictly limited. Just have new ones, nothing else. Give players who are MP-based a possibility to have a new component where they can store Pokemon from other generations and use them online, but not in the main game. The onslaught of catchable Pokemon is too big by now IMO, and I don't really care about them as much as I would love too. It's not happening though, for obvious reasons: Cutting options to increase the value of new Pokemons isn’t selling for everybody.
And the single player needs to be harder. Not as the standard, as an option. There's no need to turn the game into Final Fantasy or something, just give players an option to play a game with harder enemies from the start. Black 2 had a challenge mode of some sort, but you had to unlock it if I'm not mistaken. And: Battle Frontier. I would've paid to get this as DLC in OR/AS, I hate it that this is missing since HG/SS. The single tower/palace-things just don't cut it, too boring. |
There's nothing wrong with limiting the catchable Pokemon in an area. I just want them to use more varied characters. Replacing the older Pokemon with expies of them doesn't offer a greater variation. It just feels dull.
As for having challenge mode from the start, I can dig it. Concerning the second remake of R/G, I just hope that there is more substance there. FR/LG I could beat with my eyes closed not because it was that easy, but because it followed R/G too closely. It felt like I was just playing the original games with R/S/E sprites... |
Honestly i like the large selection of Pokemon recent games have been giving, it makes every playthrough feel different because there's so many options for your team.
|
Red and Green reremakes would be unnesscessary. Considering FireRed and LeafGreen already added stuff thatey wanted to do in the original games but couldn't due to development constraints, any additonal content would be nice, but not in the spirit of the original game.
|
Yeah, whatever the hell comes next, let it actually be a fucking challenge. The last few have been laughably easy. I know the target demographic is children and it might not be for them (though I'd argue as well they don't need their hands held the whole way), but then let it be optional from the start and not requiring you to erase your save to access.
Maybe it's because I skipped FR/LG that I wouldn't mind a remake again, but it would have to be more than just updated graphics again to be worth it really. |
Thanks to ORAS delta episode clearing up the time line per say stating the original RSE is another time line would not mind the doing remakes set in mega stone time line where all region have stone

The following Pokemon could be added to the Kanto Dex
1.Steelix 2.Crobat 3.Kingdra 4.Blissey 5.Smoochum 6.Elekid 7.Magby 8.Electivire 9.Magmortar 10.Umbreon 11.Espeon 12.Leafeon 13.Glaceon 14.Sylveon 15.Rhyperior 16.Magnezone 17.Pichu 18.Cleffa 19.Igglybuff 20.Bellossom 21.Politoed 22.Scizor 23.Porygon-2 24.Porygon-Z 25.Tyrouge 26.Hitmontop 27.Munchlax 28.Lickilicky 29.Tangrowth That would take the Kanto Dex up to 180 Pokemon, and of course the Mega's |
I'd buy a Red/Green remake, but I wouldn't be all that excited for it.
A Red/Green SEQUEL however I would lose my mind over, providing they did it right. |

You say there's no story to tell, but Gold and Silver's Kanto HAS no story. It's a hollow afterthought of a region that people just fawn over because of the novelty of two regions being in one game. |
I would only like another Kanto game if the following stuff can happen.
-Updated PokeDex -New towns/cities/routes -An actual story -Johto Region in the post game -If the above happens, no screwed up levels -Megas for Blastoise and Venusaur to even out the trio with 2 Megas each |

You didn't say set them after Gold/Silver, but after Red/Green. That's a different thing and I could actually get excited for that, since it would be all new. *I would argue not, because we still know what eventually happened. The small details are missing, but we know where everyone ends up following the original games. So we'd be playing an entirely predictable game. I, for one, would not find playing just for the minutia to be particularly interesting. Plus I was thinking bigger picture with Team Rocket (since when it comes down to it, the game stories are all about the struggle with their given crime syndicates). |
Having simply a start point and an end point isn't exactly a story though is it? There is absolutely nothing of substance in gen 2 Kanto-wise other than Team Rocket's resurgence (and even that now is pretty minuscule in the grand scheme of Pokemon games). So many new things have been introduced since gen 2's story that there's plenty that can be done to keep a sequel interesting.
Just because you know something happens doesn't necessarily make it predictable. Just from "active volcano" you could get a storyline with Team Rocket (or whoever, who said it has to strictly be Team Rocket) again trying to capture Moltres from it and have some sort of Mega/Primal Moltres wreck the whole thing. And that was something I came up with in the time it took to write this post. |
Finally beat Lance in SoulSilver! It was a Godoka send when Ryuki learned Dragon Dance before facing him. LambChop cleared out the Gyrados lead quickly but at the cost of almost half its health. Ryuki and Petra helped widle down the first Dragonite's attack. From there setup a Dragon Dance and OHKO'd it. I kept Ryuki in thinking that I would outspeed Aerodactyl but got OHKO'd myself by its Thunder Fang. I then switched to Petra, revived Ryuki, and 2HKO'd it with surf. Switched to Ryuki to setup again but the Dragonite knocked him out with a Thunder. Switched to Petra (again) and decided to revive and heal Ryuki but stay in with Petra and stall out the Dragonite. I was lucky enough for Dragonite's Hyper Beam to not kill Petra which allowed me to setup some Amnesias and widle it's health down (and Lance's Full Restores) with Surf and Whirlpool (I even healed LambChop while doing this.) But I finally knocked out that Dragonite. I sent in LambChop to throw off the next Dragonite, with one Flash, but at cost of him fainting. Good thing was that it paralyzed that Dragonite in the process. Sent in Ryuki to setup a Dragon Dance only to get hit by Thunder Wave. Luckily, Dragonite missed its Blizzard and I used a full heal. After that save, I OHKO'd it with Ice Fang. From there just used Waterfall to knock out charizard then it was game over for the champion!
TL;DR: SHIT WENT DOWN AND MIND GAMES WERE HAD!!! Team that beat the Johto league: LambChop the Ampharos (lvl. 46) Ryuki the Red Gyrados (lvl. 45) Kabuto the Heracross (lvl. 42) Eureka the Pidgeott (lvl. 44) Explotaro the Typlosion (lvl. 45) Petra the Quagsire (lvl. 45) Now to the post game! |
Finally obtained all 5 Cosplay Pikachus through trading and I'm almost done levelling them all up. (Belle Pikachu is currently at Level 95, the rest are already at Level 100.)
A little side project while I wait for Hoopa to finally come out. |
I'm gonna try to get my Pokemon to LV 100 in X later, this should be fun.
|
I've beaten all the Kanto gyms in Soul Silver and my team is still severely underleveled to face Red or the E4 rematches. I guess I'll train everyone up to the mid 60's and then try.
Typhlosion lvl55 Vileplume lvl60 Lanturn lvl60 Tauros lvl55 Staraptor lvl53 Golem lvl53 |
I caught Zygarde and Mewtwo, that was a rought afternoon.

Along with the residents you face at random in the Chateau, you also get to face the Gym Leaders, the Elite Four, and even Diantha herself. |
Looks like the game for this year is Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon.
. . . . Okay, who let Saban name this game?! |

I wonder if this means they'll skip having a main series Pokemon game this year. |
