Brock originally wasn't going to be the 1st Gym Leader in Kanto. He was going to be the 2nd.

So apparently the Viridian Gym was going to be the 1st gym in early plans and Giovanni wasn't the Gym Leader.

Well, it has been almost 2 years since X and Y so in another 2-3 years we could be getting Gen 7, or heck perhaps even sooner, as there was a mere 2 1/2 years between Gens 5 and 6.

There weren't people begging to trade because no one had them to trade to begin with.
Everyone who had them just gamesharked them in or glitched the games out to catch them.
