WOW, I'm glad I asked. Thanks, Thessair!
I normally order from BigBadToyStore, but they haven't listed it, and HLJ and AmiAmi preorders are already sold out. Odd, given that they were on top of the Ninninger toys this week. |
Toku Taku looks to still have him. I've never been disappointed with him, though he is pay when you order. He does offer split payments as an option.

With Kuuga getting released next year I wanted to see what the general consensus was on this idea: do you believe (not want, not hope; believe) all 10 Heisei Riders will get the Shinkocchu Seihou treatment?
|
I think the only riders that need the Shinkocchu Seihou treatment after Kuuga is Agito, ZX, Decade, W, OOO (Most people want a renewal of him) and Wizard. I don't believe every rider is going to get a shinkocchu seihou treatment since not every rider after 2010 needs a renewal. Riders like Blade, Ryuki, Den-O, Fourze, Gaim and the Showa riders that came out from 2011 - now (expect for ZX) are perfectly fine figures in my opinion. You can't fix something that is not broken.
|
I agree. But then why is Shadow Moon getting redone? I don't think this is a matter of what we need, rather what Bandai are going to actually do. Why they do what they do is anyone's guess, but do you know what I mean?
|
Shadow Moon's renewal is pointless and I refuse to buy it since I'm happy with the original. I think Bandai Japan Tamashii Nations needs to figuarts based on other riders that have not been done yet and do renewals on riders that need it. I would hate it if the Rider figuarts become like how the Ultra Act line is which became nothing but renewals and no Kajiu whatsoever.

Yeah, but in the case of Shadow Moon, there was no reason to give us a renewal when teh renewal is not even show accurate.

It is technically accurate to the first appearance in Black and later Taisen appearances, as oppose to the first mould which was closer to the suit used during action scenes. That being said, the differences are incredibly miniscule. As for me, I will purchase Renewal Shadow Moon since I missed out on the reissue, but I do agree that there are other figures that need renewals far far more than Nobuhiko, like W. Hell, AkibaRed S1 is in more need than SM. Not to mention characters that deserve figures in general like the often brought up Kiva, or even J or about a dozen Metal Heroes. |
Getting a Renewal of a figuart that was already perfectly fine over the LAST rider we need to complete the Heisei riders is pretty ehhhh
|
Since we're on the topic, I think Shadow Moon benefits from the renewal. The improvement in his head sculpt and torso proportion is excellent. I'm a very detail oriented person, so I'm probably focusing on things others won't but why turn down a better product? Bandai will get to the other riders. They are always surprising us.

Regardless of slight inaccurate details, at least the figure itself is still recognizably Shadow Moon and pretty much spot-on from a distance while still holding up beautifully to current Figuarts release. The other ones I mentioned? Not so much. I just think it'd be best for them to prioritize Riders that haven't been done and Riders who actually NEED the treatment before they start trying to correct minor details that many people wouldn't even notice. As it stands, the only people who I can see buying this would be people who never owned the original Shadow Moon (me) or people who are extremely anal about detail, and even then, I feel like the feet on the new one are actually more inaccurate. I just think Shadow Moon is one of those figures where if we never saw a Renewal for it, people would have been perfectly fine with it. |
What makes the Shadow Moon renewal pointless to me in my opinion is that they just reissue him last year. The last time I check that you can still find and buy him at retail. If there was more demand for Shadow Moon then they could have give him another reissue. I don't think Tamashii Nations has reissue limit since they are reissuing Ultraman renewal for the third or forth time.

http://i62.tinypic.com/15yx9nm.jpg Episode 35: Showdown! The Two Princes. About 15:20 if you're curious. I don't think they used 'em a lot in the series. I'm assuming they were really awkward to work with, so they got relegated to scenes with SM walking or just standing around. |
Hey Guys I know this is unrelated to the current topic of who should get a renewal, but I'm looking to try and collect some figuarts, but I don't exactly know what figures to get, so any recommendations?

Any Gaim Figuarts - similar to Ryuki's, overall a solid bunch. With Bluefin not importing anything, unfortunately these won't necessarily be cheap. Kabuto renewal - big upgrade from the original G3X - Nice figure with a nice accessory count, was re-released not that long ago and has become quite cheap to acquire Any Blade Figuarts - the four main riders have all been released at retail and the recent exclusives can all be had for not-bad prices. Similar quality in all to the Ryuki/Gaim Figuarts. Wizard Infinity Style - prettiest of the Wizard Figuarts, and free of the QC issues that affected Wizard Flame Style |

It depends on your favorite rider. My first S.H Figuart was Shin Ichigo and he has been reissue with his bike. I think Shin Ichigo is not a bad choice to start off your figuart collection. He has a great mold and has great articulation in my opinion.

Amazon has pretty good prices for a lot of the ones I mentioned, except for Gaim, and Mandarake also has pretty good prices as well. You just have to hunt, really. |
I'd highly recommend the Ryuki Figuarts. It's probably my favorite line within Figuarts overall, can't go wrong with any of the Ryuki ones really. Zolda is probably the one I'd recommend most to start with, he's still affordable compared to some of the others (Ouja, Knight, Gai, etc.) and has a great set of accessories.
|
Yeah, the Ryuki Figuarts are toppy-tippers. I only have Ryuki and Zolda, but they're both incredible.
|
I think Den-O sword form is a good figuart to get as well. The one that I used to own before he fell off and broke, was a really good figure. He looks very faithful to the show and I never had any articulation issues with him.
|
Of all the Riders I own so far, my advice for a newcomer would be Blade, Gaim (Kachidoki or Orange), or Knight Survive.
They're all solid, beautiful releases, and Knight Survive is pretty easy to pick up on the cheap. |
Any iron man SHF would be sweet
Lots of accessories, good mold |
Buy every sentai SHF so that the sales numbers will go up and we can get more....
I think HurricaneRed and Akaranger are very solid figures. You can get HurricaneRed for like $10 from hlj (before shipping) right now. |

Maybe you're thinking of the Figma's, which were ridiculously overpriced. The only problem for SHF's is the exclusives, like Harley Quinn, where we don't have the usual discounts, plus the the middleman fees, bringing her up to over 8,000 yen when the shipping is factored in.. Which is still cheaper than Figma Iron Man. |
Looks like Toku Taku has his Mach Jabber and Duke in hand.
|
So did anyone who order Duke from NY got any e-mails on their figures getting shipped yet? I order with Eco - SAL Registered and I thought he comes out today? I already seen people on Ebay selling their copies already (http://www.ebay.com/itm/S-H-Figuarts...-/151519283087).
|
A few places seem to have them in stock, but N-Y doesn't appear to be one. It's only 3am where they are and N-Y doesn't always get things on day one. Considering their payment deadline was the 22nd, I wouldn't expect them to start preparation on orders for a few more days.
|
Okay thank you. I was worry that they screw up on my order.
|
Just got Hibiki. Oh my, this fgure is gorgeous. There's just no other word, besides maybe "perfect." I love the Hibiki design, and this figure just perfects it. I'm surprised there's not more buzz about it, even by Figuarts standards this is amazing. If a W renewal is coming and it's this quality, I'll be thrilled.

Must've been during my Toku off-time. :lol
Shame about the QC. Mine's literally flawless. Did you end up getting a better one? |
