TV Nihon did it.

TV-Nihon has received what appears to be a C&D from Toei, and to be safe has taken down almost all of their Sentai and Rider subs.

Safe action, the letter is most likely fake though as a very similar if not identical fake was received by another subbing group.

No reason to panic for us as a fandom, but a logical decision for TVN, better safe than sorry.

I really wonder what motivates people to send fake C&Ds. In the multitude of forms of trolling, if the document looks fake, it doesn't work at all. If it looks real and accurate, it's incredibly criminal to impersonate a legal entity. All for what endgame?

Sometimes people are just that bored and stupid. Sometimes they're that spiteful. Could be anything, really

The biggest drawback to this are the individuals who aren't sure of the legitimacy also going "You know what? Let's ask some Toei personnel directly via social media!"

Because you definitely wanna bring up piracy to the company who have blatantly said you shouldn't tell them of the existence of things like fan subs and scans...
