I can understand that but maybe they should address the different eras with a different term, cause Showa and Heisei are a little misleading.

Well its not stupid. Heisei and Showa are the terms for the period we live in. So Heisei Era Sentai are Sentai shows that air during the Heisei Period and Showa Era Sentai aired during the Showa period. Once the current emperor dies and a new one takes the spot we will have somehting else era Sentai.

Its pretty much the same as when you say "Moviey from the 80s". In Japan when you use the Period terms to refer to the time people instantly know which timeframe those movies/shows are from.

And in terms of Rider it pretty much replaces the words Old and New. When thes use Showa Rider in the movie the audience especially Kids instantly know that those heroes are old. And not just six years ago old but more in the sense of "before you were even born" old.

I understand that they are eras in reference to emperors and the shows that aired during their rule, which is why I think it is stupid to consider something that aired five years after the Showa period ended, is stupid to call it Showa when they are talking about a certain producer and not the emperor they are referencing. If they are going to use that designation, then they should not call them Heisei and Showa riders, but instead call them something else. It's not that hard

But Heisei and Showa are not terms exclusive to the emperors and thats the point. Those terms reference not jsut the emperor but a certain period of time. Thats why they can call them Heisei Era Kamen Rider. The Showa thing is dumb I give you that. But they chose to still call them Showa Riders since they were the last ones that got created under Ishinomori.

And the distinction of who they were created by is why I think they should follow a different distinction for the "Showa" riders. I am glad that sentai doesn't have that problem. Liveman started during the Showa era and ended in the Heisei era, but is considered a Showa season, which is understandable.
