I mean, for my money, I can't imagine having the same positive experience I've had here on Reddit or Facebook. Those seem great for breaking news and being monetized, respectively, and god knows Twitter's awesome if you want to have strangers tell you to kill yourself, but these fan boards have been truly delightful in the ways they foster discussion.
