I've been tackling side missions, building up my heroic presence but the last story mission I did involved a bit of stealth to get incriminating pictures of the truth of Bertrand on the airwaves. BEFORE A HUGE FUCKING FIGHT EXPLODED. It seemed like a better option than "build Nix an army", she's already a one woman genocide squad, so she don't need an army of mutant swamp demons things as well... although she got them anyway. God help us all. |
Waiting for Yumi's Odd Odyssey and Shovel Knight is killing me! Still stuck on the Tempe levels and final boss of DKC:TF as well. I'm not the gamer I was.
|
I fucked up on day 5 in Devil Survivor, so I had to revert to an earlier save.
|
Beat the DLC case of AA5.
Beat the hunchback world of KH3D. |
Now I'm seemingly getting closer to the end of inFAMOUS 2, I have two nitpicks.
The way this game ramps up the difficulty is less entertaining, and more annoying. Hell it isn't even frustrating. They just use bigger enemies, that you can't use melee on, that knock you around and usually stage them in places with little places to drain power from. So it isn't like you're ever afraid of losing, but the fight is unnecessarily dragged out as you run around trying to find something to throw or charge yourself with. It's boring. Especially if there are multiples of these things, or footsoldiers shooting at you at the same time. The other complaint, is I know you get NEW powers but I would have appreciated the chance to upgrade core ones. Some powers, like the ability to lift and hurl objects, are some of the most useful but you also get that right at the start and so it's kinda lame that by the end, despite how powerful I've become, I still can't lob trucks around. Feels like a wasted opportunity. |
Don't you freaking hate it when you have to collect something in a videogame only to miss just the one thing by the end?
|

Though most of the single minikits I miss happen to be at the beginning of the chapter and not the end, heh. |
My god! Titanfall is so much fun! must stop....
|
Wow the Heavy Rain twist was dumb. Wow this ending is depressing.
|
Finished Pokemon Black 2! Now I can say I have played all 6 generations.

P.S. Don't play the other game he wrote, Beyond: Two Souls. It's worse. |

As the first game I played to completion on my PS3. I must admit, I'm kinda disappointed. I get what it was trying to do, and it really did have some interesting ideas but the execution was really lacking. Not just the point and click style gameplay (but that really sucked, I'm sorry), but it also highlighted to me that graphics haven't come as far as perhaps I believed with the HD gloss. From glitching, to just generally bad animation some of the most key emotional scenes came off as totally hilarious to downright awful. And honestly the voice acting wasn't much better, what the hell was with Jayden's voice? Why cast that guy? I can't help but think this might have worked better as a movie or TV show, I know all the fun is shaping your own story kinda thing, but I have a problem with games that build themselves around their novelty, rather than integrating their novelty into their game. I found Mass Effect became like that the further the series progressed. I would be interested in seeing this done again - especially with all the crazy promises from the PS4 but I honestly don't think the world was ready for Heavy Rain, and the elements that did function in the now were just lacking. |

Disjointed must be their thing, because that is how Heavy Rain felt for me too. Playing so many characters, all dealing with the case but also their own personal issues made it really hard to keep up and follow at times. And for a game so convoluted, it's amazing just how silly the actual way it all came together was.
|
Abe's Oddysee. Probably not the best time to pick it up again when there's a HD remake due really soon, but oh well. Going for saving all 99 Mudokons and I'm on about 43/43 so far so I'm doing pretty good.
REALLY need to pick up Zelda: ALBW again too. I haven't had any time for it in about 2 weeks now. |

BTW, the choices do matter because if Madison dies by the doctor or in the fire, she won't be there in the end. Same goes for the FBI dude. If you get caught by the police, well then it is bye bye son. Anyway, I did a speed run through Super Metroid. |

And for me the twist just came from NOWHERE there were times when it worked but others are simply baffling. Even with that aside, for such a serious game, the killer had truly ridiculous motivations like he'd fallen right out of some cartoon. Between Norman Jayden and all the billions of unanswered questions surrounding his drug addiction, and his virtual reality headset and the goofball final twist, it reminded me of Prisoners so much. |
Turnabout Academy is definitely the best third case in any Ace Attorney game, my one complaint is that one of my favorite Characters has a more pointless cameo than Mentor Ji in Megaforce.
Seriously he should have been the prosecutor on the game. |
So I gave Resistance another run, it's just kinda bland more than anything else. The first level really is horrible, but at least later levels give you shit loads of health and ammo so you aren't getting constantly stuck, cause seriously, this game is deceptively hard.
With no proper cover systems, huge blocks of enemies and barely any health it's pretty fucking painful to get past each checkpoint. You're being smashed at all angles by enemies who seemingly never seem to reload or need to, and it's usually just a test of endurance as to who can hold out longer. I dread to think how bad this'll get when the inevitable bullet sponge bosses come along. I get that not everyone was fond of the cover FPS revolution - myself included - but this game lacks the precision of a cover based FPS while also lacking pretty much all of the fun of something more classic like the Painkiller franchise. The level design, and monster design is awesome and I don't wanna come across overly negative on a game that isn't really worth being overly negative about but just eh. Definitely the highlight so far was riding the tank, it controlled like total ass but after spending so long dying and sneaking around it was really nice to get a sense of power given back to me. |

Honestly I do kinda feel a little harsh, as the game is almost ten years old so I should probably cut it some slack. Graphically it's really ahead of its time - I mean seriously it looks GREAT and it isn't like graphics haven't come a huge way in the last decade, so it's testament that it still looks awesome. But the gameplay is just really dated. Or maybe it just sucks, I don't know. |
I bought an old PC horror game called Harvester after a friend recommended it. Going to play it soon.
|
I know what you I had to complete game in co op I not a big FPS but I like sci if ones pick mine up £10 at a car boot still bran new due to it was factory warped in plastic still.
|
I do enjoy FPS games, but Fall of Man is slotted weirdly between the two dominate types of FPS games and it really isn't an entertaining inbetween.
|
So wait, to side with the Beast I have to go away and make myself evil? How is this a final decision, it takes hours to make those levels change? Why don't I get to just choose like I do in every other part of the game?
|
Okay so minus the stupid lack of decision at the end, inFAMOUS 2 is easily one of the best games I have ever played. A little over long, maybe? A lack of variety? Perhaps. But man was it an EPIC experience, I LOVED IT. Now to grab the expansion and maybe grab the first one off the Playstation store.
|
I cannot play FPSes without getting motion sickness, they all look alike to me anyways.
I think the only FPS I played and enjoyed was Star Wars Republic Commando…shame that never got a sequel after setting up for one. |
Just grabbed Festival of Blood, didn't know it came with a theme!
Only downside is it is almost four gig big, so on my internet it's gonna take like 12 hours for this download to finish. |

Still with the new one out, your little review and various bits you've been posting have me super excited to play! Also have heavy rain too, so I'm kinda itching to give that a go now, but I have like a million games downloaded to play as well... Being late to the party is awesome for how cheap stuff can be but not for the volume of stuff to play =p |

Yeah and the storyline kind of felt shitty either way you went. It was like Dark Choice A or Dark Choice B. |

It's disappointing that the karmic system has been removed, it'd have been fun to fight your urges and play as a heroic vampire like Angel but it is nice that as there is no karmic system to aim at, you can just unleash hell without consequence (well other than the players soul I guess :lol) In terms of inFAMOUS 2 the real thing that pissed me off about the ending was the lack of choice. Both in the fact that one was a necessary evil and the other one not so much, who even decides this? But also as you were bound by your karmic stance, the choice was taken. I wanted to actually side with the Beast *don't look at me that way!* but I'd have to go away and remove three bars of good karma and gain evil karma just to do it. Fuck that, I'm not that dedicated. |
Took Anarchy Reigns out for a spin, it's okay.
The single player is great, the online is basically dead and you can simulate online matches which is a FANTASTIC feature but it's also BRUTALLY difficult which kinda ruins the point for me. Meh. At least so far the single player isn't quite so punishing. |
Didn't realise my copy of Heavy Rain had extra content on the disk, played the Taxidermist and was done in like half an hour. It was basically just one long fight scene which the 2013 Maniac appeared to rip off. I think I'm done with this game now.
|
Jesus christ! I'm trying to unlock the secret minigame in Tatsunoko vs Capcom and it's like a living hell!
|
Playing more of Festival of Blood. It's okay. At first the charm is huge but as it goes on, you realise there isn't much to it. That was the problem with inFAMOUS 2 as well, but the charm of that lasted a lot longer before the repetition became monotonous.

Still trudging along Bravely Default, I'm about to fight Lord Delorosso.
I like how the guy appears behind the group in a puff of smoke and the four don't even react. Im playing on easy but with the encounter rate maxed out so the grind hasn't been totally terrible, my characters are about level 67 but MAN does the difficult spike during this quest line. The dragons alone were rather troublesome and took me almost half an hour a piece to beat. And I like h ow self aware this game is, there's so much world building that I can by the fact that people actually use asterisk stones as part of their everyday life. I'm fighting Lord Delorosso on chapter 4 so we'll see how that goes with my current builds. |
