You should see the HG Astrea Type 2. You can mount every single weapon he comes with including the ones he gets left over from the Exia on him and turn him into basically a walking armoury.

I'm going to be building the Gundam Zeta Honoo sometime this summer. I think I have all the parts for it preordered so far. I know there is the May issue of Hobby Japan with the main parts, then the HGBF upgrade parts that have some more stuff. I'm really excited. Then I have the HGBF Crossbone kit ordered. These kits really are exciting.

Is anyone else disappointed that the Wing Gundam is the only one of the five Wing Series main gundams that didn't get pushed into the pile of exclusives like the parts set for Heavyarms & Sandrock, the Shenlong Gundam, & the Deathscythe Gundam did? Still gonna pre-order Deathscythe Gundam unless I decided to just order the Shenlong.

Yeah I saw that earlier. I'm guessing it's just pretty art since the parts have been scattered releases. I wish they had done a regular kit release, just to save me from painting, lol. Cool! I didn't know what pack he had, I'll have to look into that as well. Thanks. :D

the Akatsuki's a chrome kit, and you're gonna need to strip the chrome off oherwise it'll bleed through so that's gonna be a pain in the ass.

The shear awesomeness of the cameo after cameo in today's episode of Build Fighters had me grinning from ear to ear. It was nice to give the characters a breather and finally see Iori's dad make it out to his family, even if Char said he was a spoiled child.

Indeed. This was an excellent episode and a proper tribute to the franchise.

And those upgrades! Called it a while back that Maoh would be building the Skullheart. But seeing a new Fenice was too good :D

Ah man, chrome.. darn. I guess I'll have to think of something else. I like the idea of replacing Zeta's backpack, as I think that's one of the more dated aspects of his design. Overall it's one of my favorite MS though, but I really dig this custom. Hmmm.

Oh man the Fenice Rinaschita is gorgeous. I hope that gets a kit one day. Just once Fenice isn't enough for me! Really temped to get the Crossbone Maoh too - I haven't got a Maoh kit yet and I prefer this over the X. Leaning towards the Sazabi over the Qubeley as well.

I'm still shocked that it was only ever planned as 25 episodes. But considering the announcement for the new series/35th Anniversary project is going live in 3 days, it's safe to assume Build Fighters is over :(

It had an excellent run, let's hope the end is as awesome as the show has been so far.

Just watched Build Fighters Ep 23 and I have to say I really don't want this to end. Hopefully we'll find out the mystery of the Plavsky Particle Crystal and the origins of Reiji. Can't wait for Dark Matter Exia to come out and hopefully they announce the new Fenice soon! Also couldn't help noticing that when Kirara was singing, the stage said "Open Studium Music", did they combine the words studio and stadium? Haha. Also it looked like Maoh was using the MG Crossbone Kai for his new Gundam, now I wonder whether or not they use 1/144 or 1/100 scale since it seemed like Aila was using HG models.

I liked what I saw from the manga, so I'm looking forward to The Origin.

Reconuqista come from left field, but that's a good thing, and at least it's unique design wise.

Holy hell the animation for Reconquista looks like shit.

But Origin looks fantastic! As always I await the finale of Unicorn too.

So 7 is the last? That's great! I was waiting for all of them to be released before starting.

Reconquista has Eureka Seven written all over it art wise, which is no surprise given Kenichi Yoshida is doing character design. Will certainly be watching although I haven't touched any UC stuff yet :lol

Origin is a must though. Can't wait to see that.

You desperately need to watch Zeta. It's by far the best of any UC related material. Char's Counterattack is an excellent movie too. But being the nerd that I am, as OCD as I am too, I have to watch a Gundam universe in sequential order. So that means I'd generally start with the original series, then go 08th MS, 0080, 0083, Zeta, ZZ, CCA, F91, Victory, and finally Turn A (yes it totally counts). My brain only works in this way :lol

And I'm very sad to see the Eureka 7 shining through on Reconquista. I knew I recognized the art but damn it all, I just don't want it in my Gundam. If this makes sense to anyone it's a little too artistic for more sci-fi mecha shows like this. Eureka had this otherwordly mystery to it that more real robot shows like Gundam don't tend to.

Nope, I'm actually pretty new to the franchise :o The only things I've seen all the way through are G, Wing and Build Fighters. Everything else I have an appreciation of the designs for but just haven't had the time to go back and sit through. I REALLY want to watch all the UC stuff, but the sheer backlog of it is daunting.

Build Fighters (as well as DaiRiderRX talking to me about it all the time :p) has really reinvigorated my interest though so I'll probably start working through it all soon enough.

Gundam X is one of my favrioutes so I can easily say to watch that next.

Gundam X doesn't get enough love, but seeing all the attention it's been getting in both Build Fighters and model kits makes me pretty happy

The original MSG series can be daunting and slow at times but even it was good. The compilation movies are also quite good. Once you hit the mids 0080's with Zeta the UC universe is excellent. Though Victory for it's portion of the timeline is not one of my favorites. But Turn A? Excellently weird. John can atest to it with me, after all he owns my old HK bootleg DVD's :p

I like how everyone here is naturally correcting Sunrise's spelling of "Reconquista." News sites are all spelling it wrong just like Sunrise. :lol

First thoughts:
Unicorn: As always, I'll watch it after it's all out.

The Origin: I can't say I'm that excited about it, but at least the trailer features mainly things not in the show.

Gundam Reconquista in G (aka G-Mouthful): I'm unsure of this. I'm not that big on UC or Yoshiyuki Tomino's direct work. I'll at least give it a try, especially if Sunrise simulcasts on Youtube again.

You can think of it like a spiritual successor/alternative to the UC universe. AW never got any love until recently so it's great to see more people trying it out again.

It really shows its age, but I adore the Rising Gundam so I'm happy to have one in (close to) 1/144 scale. I'll keep hoping for a new HG kit one day, but I'm tempted to check out the 1/100 kit some time.

So it's looking like Conquista is indeed set in the UC universe. All be it long after that calendar system. Looks like it's called the Reguild or Reguilded Century. However the question is does this still take into account Tomino's original end point for UC? Which was Turn A. That's roughly several thousand years past Victory and was seen as the distant future of that timeline. So if that's the case then I wonder if the Turn A events still took place within the confines of the timeline or if it's been adjusted at all. But if so, how far along is Conquista compared to that anyway?

I thought the exact same thing when I was building the Build Mk.2.

Being more use to the modern SEED and AGE high Grades, going back to something like the Mk.2 was quite the 180.

It would seem like it takes place between Victory and Turn A.. but Tomino strikes me as a man who does whatever he wants. I expect a lot of death in this new series after all. lol.

I wouldn't count on it.

This show looks like happy go lucky King Gainer Tomino, not Kill'em All Zeta Gundam Tomino. :lol

Gundam Reconguista in G is looking just fine to me right now. The promo was rather quick and the decision to take the UC timeline out even further is actually kind of welcomed. I'd rather not have to sit through yet another Neo-Zeon uprising, unless of course they won in the end (also, UC scratches that itch). The design for the Gundam(?) is interesting enough; I do enjoy alternate approaches to the V-fin, giving us ear or mustache antennae.


Yeah, the Mk II base kit is twelve years old and features some gnarly seam lines. It is in desperate need of a remaster like the Aile Strike received.

Interesting. Perhaps this series will finally show us the cataclysm of the Moonlight Butterfly. If Tomino wanted to go deep enough we could finally see the origins for the Turn A & X. But that's mostly me getting my hopes up :o
Yeah It's unfortunate he got over his bout of depression. I honestly like his shows better when he's massively depressed. Maybe that's why I love Zeta so damn much :lol
I always love more UC. But I'd actually like more Neo Zeon/Remnants type stuff. I've always hoped some of the early UC 0100's manga would make it to OVA's at some point. The Oldsmobile Army would be awesome to see on screen. Some of the Silhouette Formula stuff would be great for OVA's like Unicorn.

But more to the point I'd love to see a return to the Zeon rebellions of old in a latter point of the UC Timeline. It was such a shame to see the classic villains replaced by posers like Crossbone Vanguard & Zanscare. I know that by Victory and even really F91's point in time that there wouldn't be any or many living characters still tied to those wars. But the inheritors of that legacy exist. I'd love to see a new Zeon Empire in the UC 0200's rise up.

I love the absolute zaniness of that show. And it's collecting of all the AU shows into the Dark History makes me love it even more. If Reconquista in any way at all is related to it I will be massively overjoyed. It could even explain why we're getting the Master Grade Turn X.
