As for Varrick, I don't think an American cartoon show would ever show a Capitalist in a bad light. But if LoK does then wow, its breaking quite a lot of new ground. |
So I've been watching Avengers Assemble on and off and just recently caught the Dracula Episode. AA isn't a terrible series but compared to Earth's Mightiest Heroes there's just something….missing and the way I look is…it's the equivalent of a kid playing with his toys making up a bunch of nonsensical "Stories" as he goes along.
One thing that AA is missing is…there just isn't a sense of impending danger like EMH had and the villains aren't really that threatening. Which brings me to another point and I know I've said it before at least once: Red Skull has done nothing that earns him the seat of being the main villain for the season…the number one reason why the Avengers had to come back. Sure he stole Iron Man's armour and left him for dead but it's a feat that becomes null and void within five seconds of the 2nd episode and I don't really think he's done much of anything since those two episodes. It's not a terrible show like I said better then United they Stand or Ultimate Spiderman but AA is pretty much cashing in on the popularity of the Avengers movie which is a shame because it could've been so much more... |
Catching up with Xiaolin Chronicles. I really liked the original series but this new one has lost a lot of the heart and charm that first show had.
Between Ping Pong and the Honey Badger, i'm about ready to call Chronicles a disappointment. |

Oh yeah, Chronicles is a thing. Guess I should get caught up just to form my own opinion... But from the three I saw, Ping Pong was really rubbing me the wrong way.

Seriously? They put the Honey.... Well, that just ruined it forever. I don't even care if it's just a character's name, the Honey Badger thing is stale. |

Oh yeah…I totally forgot about Chronichles…and how dumb the idea of having CGI showdowns was...

Caught the latest episode of Korra. Was great story wise but looks like whatever theories I had about Unalaq are pretty much voided. He does seem "clearly bad" now more than ever but the creators gave Tarrlok much more character in 8 minutes than they did in 8 episodes so I hope there will be more to him than meets the eye.
Bolin and Eska's interactions were hilarious! |
TRIEC to watch both season premieres of both Family Guy and American Dad. For some messed up reason some stupid woman's voice kept telling me what was going on during the scenes. I was pissed!

------------------ Who would love to see Star Wars: Clone Wars redone with the Post-EpisodeVI Star Wars movies and the "2D models in a 3D world" thing Jet Set Radio did? Cause I would. That would be awesome. |

I never finished "Danny Phantom" but 30 bucks for the whole series is a great deal.

Right now I'm watching SWAT Katz, and I'm still bummed they ever cancelled this beautiful thing. |
Danny Phantom is one of my all time favourite shows, so seeing it's currently at a preorder price of 22 dollars blew me away. Shame this will be US region locked and therefore worthless to me, unless I just change my laptops region code to the US and be done with it.

Shouts doing a DP release? I might pick this one up. I loved the series as a kid.
|
I only found the start and finish to be the good parts of Danny Phantom. There were some really good episodes strewn throughout the series, though.
|
Another solid episode of Beware the Batman this week.
I think the series has some of the strongest and most memorable villains out of recent Batman shows, and I think using villains that aren't that well known helps a lot. I didn't like Pyg and Toad at first but this episode helped turned me around on them, they were polite yet evil and just a delight to watch. |
I just came up with an idea that I find to be incredibly awesome but is probably unlikely: DC Animated movies for events such as the Blackest Night, the Brightest Day, the Crisis, and the Day of Doom... that are all made to tie into the continuity of the New 52. It would give us movies of comic-book crossovers that we want to see in action and provide DC an alternative way to retell those events.
Oh, and the new episode of The Legend of Korra reveals Varrick isn't as good of a good guy as we were led to believe. Oh, and Korra lost her memories. |
The Verrick payoff was very well done. Mako is really growing as a character but God the fans of the show are so ****ing whiny. In the first series when Asami was so perfect they complained but now that she shows weakness because of all the **** that's piling on her (her father in jail, her father's company on the verge of collapse) everyone starts to get all feminist. Bolin starts acting like a jerk which is a great way of expanding character is being dismissed as "bad writing".
What the hell? Can't anyone watch a 20 minute animated show without reading so much into it? Does it have to be compared to the likes of Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad or whatever the hell the more "discerning fans" think is the gold standard for entertainment? Its bad enough the forums are filled with bratty ATLA fans which are the equivalent of Geewuners in any franchise but this ridiculous White Knighting and psychoanalyzing of a show which is meant to introduce or younger generations to a slightly more deeper style of story-telling is just getting too much. If everything is "cliche" or if watching a show primarily to ****ing CALL IT is their idea of entertainment, why bother watching....ANYTHING?! Gah. Rant over. |
Caught Dark Knight Returns Part 1 on TV. It was pretty good from what I watched but I'm going to have to wait till I see part 2 to judge the movie as a whole. The final fight with Batman and the Mutant Leader was some pretty intense Sh*****t. Even if it were scene per scene exactly like that that one TAS episode where the kids told stories about Batman.

I am the biggest Aqua Teen fan you're likely to meet. But.. Aqua TV Show Show.. It's like they're being weird just for the sake of being weird.
|
The new episode/episodes of The Legend of Korra was/were awesome. I love that we finally received an explanation for the Avatar and how it came to be and continues to be.
