I'm now looking up all the suits from G Gundam. These things are hilarious :lol
A Queen's Guard is a pretty good choice to base a British one on. Do they go to the UK in the show? And if so is it represented as a foggy place with horse-drawn carriages like every other anime of the 80s/90s has it? :lol |

Like just about every Gundam show eventually there will be an upgrade. I just think that if they want to clown on every other country safely then they should do it to themselves as well and no one would think twice about it. Gundam Maxter cracks me up as their idea of Americans. Football, surfing/skateboard, boxing, and cowboys. They just mashed it all together then made it red, white, and blue. Surprised the Gundam wasn't overweight or something lol. Quote:

Why bother to include that third pilot in G-Gundam 4?
Either way, this show makes every country look bad! The French came across as such total dicks in this episode (although I guess at least they weren't running away OOO CONTROVERSIAL) and the Rose Gundam felt so shit after the pure awesome that was the Dragon Gundam. What I am enjoying is it seems with each new Gundam, Domon struggles more, I mean Domon could have actually been beaten by the Dragon and it looks like he could have lost to Rose as well, if he wasn't trying to save the princess. I'm hoping this means, coupled with the foreshadowing, that the Bolt Gundam really puts up a fight. Plus they levelled the Eiffel tower in this fight :lol If the animation wasn't so insanely dated, this show really would be quite awesome. Quote:

That seems to be par for the course for every Gundam. Except Neo-Sweden's, who gets the...Oddest design.

This should have been America's Gundam (I can't wait for the figure) http://www.candb.com/site/candb/cach...900_marked.jpg

Episode 4 of Tekkaman, the plot finally moves!
To be fair to the show, it does a good job of building its world and populating that world with fleshed characters but just so much of this feels unoriginal by this point, even if they may have been the first ones to do it. Still it's nice to watch a show like this that has put in effort outside of the fights, and knows a quiet moment every now and then works a treat. Although Noal is a fucking DICK. I'm also impressed that they managed to make a simple change like giving the bugs flight and it added a whole new level of energy to the action. Still I'm waiting for a villain who can really put up a fight, since even Dagger was pretty useless. |

Eh. Sounds about right to be honest :lol

If you goto www.MAHQ.net they have pictures of G Gundam suits never used in the anime. Like the Kangaroo, or the Old Man and his Dog. :lol My favorite right there. My favorite designs though have to be The Four Grand Kings, Master Gundam, and God (Shining). Always wished I would've picked up the Kings somewhere. I used to have a 12 inch Zues here somewhere.
Just finished watching Soul*Eater Ep 1 and I loved it. So much better watching it on netflix then watching it on Adult Swim, I'm glad now I missed it and caught it now. I'll say this, very jealous of Sycthe :lol |

Tenchi Muyo (the OVAs) actually goes downhill the worst out of all three continuities, mainly because of the 5 year gap between the second and third sets of OVAs. When OVA 3 did suddenly come around the plot had become so up its own ass that you needed a flow chart just to work out what on Earth was going on (not to mention all the crap they pulled with Tenchi's mother).
Daughter of Darkness isn't a great movie either because its set in its own weird psuedo-continuity. The Tenchi Continuities go: Main OVA 1 OVA 2 OVA 3 Tenchi Muyo! GXP Tenchi Muyo War on Geminar Hasegawa Continuity OVA 1 Mihoshi Special Daugher of Darkness TV Continuity 1 Tenchi Universe Tenchi in Love Tenchi in Love 2 (or Tenchi Forever) TV Continuity 2 Tenchi in Tokyo Then there's the 3 Sasami Magical Girl universes too, which the last one having almost nothing in common other than Sasami, Washu and Ryo-Ohki. |
Magical Girl Pretty Sammy always confused me. But of all of those, if I'm reading it right, I think I enjoyed OVA 1 and 2, and Tenchi Muyo in love the most. In Love is one of my favorite anime movies period.
The feels Zeo... The Feels! |
Magical Girl Pretty Sammy is amazing :lol The OVAs are better since the cast all retain their Tenchi names and personalities, but the series was pretty good. Just a shame it was never dubbed.
And yeah, In Love is awesome. Which is why I'll always champion the TV 1 continuity over everything else (plus it has Kiyone who is my favourite character). The OVA-verse would be fine if not for 3 and War on Geminar. |
I've been watching strange romantic anime like Sankarea.

So I watched the second episode of Penguindrum, way better episode this time around. It was kinda slow but man I really didn't see the direction the episode took, coming. It's strange how this show is so cutesy and then actually really quite dark.
It certainly helps that it is a artgasm, with a fantastic sense of humour with cute penguins. |
What the hell is Penguindrum?

Finally started watching Attack on Titan last night.
Wow, that first episode... What an end. Quite shocking. And of course, after watching the first 5 episodes (was up until 3:30 AM for no reason other than this haha) I just wanted to look up pictures of the Armored Titan because I thought he looked cool and god DAMNIT if that didn't fucking spoil a HUGE thing. *sigh* |

The Princess of the Crystal is like 15 quid before postage on Jungle, I may have to grab her.
Also, watched another episode of G-Gundam, this was more of a story focused one as we're introduced to the Devil Gundam and get more of an idea as to what that photo is all about. Plus, although the whole slave driver thing is pretty bad, Russia were at least depicted as intellectuals, their plan to win Gundam Fights, without even fighting is actually very clever and out of the box, as is their plan of making their own Gundam. The Bolt Gundam was pretty bland looking though, and I hated the bulkiness of it even though it had a reason for it, but the battle was really epic and Domon didn't actually win! Like I say though, one of the biggest disappointments is just how dated the animation is, epic moments like the Gundam Graveyard just fall flat because it looks so awful. Although in many ways modern anime is worse visually, there is a lot less money in it I suppose, you cant beat that lovely crisp, clean HDness. |
