Agito, Ryuki, 555, Blade, Kabuto and Ex-Aid are the only ones they've done so far. You might be thinking of the older line having done Kuuga, Hibiki, OOO etc.
|
It's basically the same line. The very early VS ones have basically all been redone anyway, and the later ones look fine displayed next to the other Shodo-X figures.
|
This is largely unrelated to the current topic, but are the Yu-Do for Sentai about the same quality and scale as So-Do?
|
Depends on what you mean by quality. I would say more or less.
Articulation is mixed. They just got waist joints this year, but they've had a pull out shoulder joint that SO-DO has never had (not all of them have it though). The line got to be the first to use ball-jointed hands. They have very limited paint because they are contained to one box (weapons in another box, with some exceptions). Also normally no stands. No series has been properly finished. Kyuranger only got the Reds, LuPat is the most complete only missing a movie form and final episode forms (one of which the blog shows you how to make yourself), Ryusoulger is missing a bunch of forms and a ranger, we'll have to see on Kiramaiger. No line has passed 3 waves. They do make troopers and some villains like SO-DO. The first wave has been the full core teams ever since LuPat. So you get the core team including the ladies all up front. I enjoy them. If they make a team you like, go for it. |

Hmm, well I'll just bide my time then. Thanks for the help, guys. |
Weekly So-Do blog update is out! Posting this on my phone ar work, so I'll have to be brief.
First of is the first full Wonder Combo of the show, Blades Fantastic Lion! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1113134026.jpg And also the long awaited Kamen Rider Buster! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...1114170617.jpg Both look fantastic! Unfortunately, there's also some tragic news about Shodo... the next wave will be Build themed, forcing me to finally start buying figures from that line also. Heartbreaking. No pics yet though. I trust someone else, Kurona, AkibaSilver or Blade Raider probably will make another more detailed post before I'm home in a few hours, otherwise I'll edit this to add more photos and info later! |
SHODO-X 12 will have RabbitTank Hazard...they are really after my heart. Can't wait. I hope the accessory pack includes lots of weapons and alternate eye pieces for Hazard.
|
Awesome, I was wondering if they'd do Build! I can only assume Grease, Rogue and some form of Evol will be SHODO-O.
For anyone curious, SHODO-X 12 releases on May 5th and Book 3 is in December. SHODO-X 12 is made up of Rabbit/Tank; Hazard Rabbit/Tank; Cross-Z; Cross-Z Great; the Machine Builder and the obligatory accessory box. |
It's very interesting by the way that SHODO-X 12 is ENTIRELY Build. Usually what they do especially recently is theme a wave around a Heisei series and a Showa series -- Kabuto/Super-1, Blade/Stronger, Amazons/Amazon. We haven't had a full wave focused on one series since Agito back in October 2019, so they've gotta be confident in this wave.
Admittedly though there's just not many Showa riders left -- just Skyrider, ZX and the three movie guys. We're quickly nearing completion on that front so maybe they don't wanna get there juuuust yet? |
I guess there's enough easy material for a Build wave they know people will want that they didn't feel the need to slip any of the 90's riders in there. Skyrider will probably come when they can figure out some partners where they can have his bike in the wave with him - Machine Builder would probably take priority because, well, Build maks bank!
|
If they keep up with Heisei Bikes I'm deeply going to have to consider SHODO. Kuuga, Build, W, OOO and Fourze all on their bikes... now that'd be a nice sight.
Poor Blade, Ex-Aid and Kabuto though. C'mon Bandai. At least Ryuki got a whole dragon! |
AH I'm so glad Buster's SO-DO has his own body mold and proportions. After his RKF rendition, I thought they'd just recycle a standard SO-DO body for him.
|
Yes, give me Blade's bike so I can relive the exciting Black Fang action!
Slightly more seriously, I can imagine them doing Lazer in SHODO-O at some point, *especially* with how well he did in the Figuarts re-issue poll. He's not just a bike, he's a friend after all. |
If SHODO continues with machines, they will have fun with Drive. Probably a P-Bandai set?
We did see a transforming Auto Vajin, so anything is possible! |
They could always do Premium Bandai sets like what they did with Agito, too -- I can already imagine an Ex-Aid set of Brave, Snipe and Lazer all in their Level 2s.
|
I... might pass on this. Dunno, the size difference between So-do and SHODO is a bit on the "Eh, nah" side.
|
Do we think we'll get a King of Arthur mecha in SO-DO form like we got a breaking mammoth?

Random thought: how many of you would be okay with a CHRONICLE Ryuki line that didn't do contract monsters; or at most Dragreder and maybe a Dragblacker? Because I wouldn't mind seeing a line of all 13 riders without them myself...

I'd be okay with it, considering I'm not sure if I'd have the space to display all 13 Riders (Even Verde?! What beautiful dream is this?), let alone all 13 and a baker's dozen of giant plastic monsters. Plus, if they excluded the monsters, you could maybe finish the line in less than six waves...

Honestly, the only incentive for me to invest in a SO-DO Chronicle Ryuki line would be the contract monsters. It would definitely drag the line out, but I think it'd be super fun.

What if they did the Riders at retail, and the contract monsters as P-Bandai? I imagine that'd only get you the TV Riders (along with the easy-ass repaint of Ryuga), but it might be a quicker way of doing the major characters and monsters. |
I'd happily take, for example, a Femme or an Alternative without their contract monsters, but I think we'd be much more likely to see half the Riders and their contracts than every Rider ever. Dragredder and Darkwing are almost certains, and at that point Venosnaker and Dragblacker are an easy remold.
(Also replace that Tiger slot with Ryuki Blank and I'd call that a sensible wave) |
I think we would for sure get every Rider, but not every monster. Kaijin aren't really SO-DO's thing, as much as they try to get out. The closest thing would be the Another Riders, right? But those guys were only 1 box figures whereas some of the contract monsters will for sure need 2.
I'd love for them to do contract monsters just because they're near impossible to get nowdays, and SO-DO would be able to make them far more articulated than they ever were before. Destwilder is one of my favorites, but the only figure that exists of it isn't very articulated at all. |
Sodo have been doing more Kaijin recently with a lot of magia stuff and Daguva.
I chose Tiger because he’s the most ‘main’ rider outside of the other 5, given his heavy late game presence. Surprised me how big a deal he was, but I could see Raia or Scissors’ popularity superseding him. ... completely forgot about the alternatives! Whoops! |
Right, but I'm thinking more along the lines of actual, straight up monsters; stuff that is much further from humanoid than the Magia and Another Riders.
|
So-Do Chronicle Amazons set when.
Wishful thinking, but I would kill for a Mamoru that's not a Figuarts. |

Hopefully also a pile of cheeseburgers, if it's P-Bandai. |
