One of the reasons model kits were such a good fit for Kamen Rider was that accessories were very easy to include. Just put it on the runner and slap a bunch of stickers on it!
Though now I feel like the quality of the kits has really gone up and they can't get away with that as much anymore. |

Plus depending on how they gate these kits, I could see alt forms and other Riders be easy. Agito uses Kuuga parts, and Decade is suspiciously gated with all the Decade-specific parts on their own runners, with much to the shared parts between him and Diend on the same runner. Ryuki also had the majority of the base suit on a runner with obvious gates where the Ryuki-specific parts were, meaning a retool into Knight is highly possible. In fact I notice a lot of these kits have gated-off sections on the eyes and such. I think there may be "master eye moulds" that are selectively gated for whatever Rider they need, with obvious blunted protrusions leading nowhere on the runners. I hope Bandai doesn't waste this opportunity. This line could be a fantastic alternative to the more expensive and hard-to-find Figuarts, especially of older characters. (model kits tend to be produce din larger numbers and be reprinted, unlike Figuarts) |
I'd be happy if they just stuck to main riders and some easy popular preban retools/repaints, but if this line exploded and started to cover all sorts of stuff I'd be over the moon! God, just thinking of them doing guys like Chalice and Shadow Moon and Rogue...

Just finished painting Fourze. The orange stripes were definitely the hardest part about it. Overall it was a pretty fun build. Even panel lining the suit was a blast. The lines filled in so easily and looked great!
Word of warning: be really careful with the antennae. I barely touched them while moving his head and one of them snapped in two. If you aren't planning on painting the kit, the stickers that come with it look really good for the orange stripes and the colors out of the box are spot on outside of the driver. |
That turned out pretty good! Did you paint behind the eyes or leave it white?
I just realized we're only four main Riders away before Heisei is complete. (Blade, Wizard, Gaim, Drive, and Ghost unless I'm missing anyone) I wonder if we'll finally move on to secondary Riders/alt forms or go into Showa? |
Quote:
I hope we get all of them next year, though that would be very ambitious. We'll probably see more alternative forms and easy secondaries before any Showa. |
We'll at the very least see #1 and #2 imo. But yeah, uh, going by FRS' previous scheduling we should see maybe four of the remaining Heiseis knocked out next year! Quite excited for it

prepares for more alt-form releases

Also yeah, totally forgot Kiva. That's going to be interesting, what with all the small paint details on the suit. I image the chest will require stickers or paint for the black lines. |
OOO has introduced Tampographing for the chest medal, so perhaps we could see that for other difficult intricate details going forward?

eh.. idk what's this, still cool btw, do you guys think they'll make Growing and Ultimate? |
Quote:
I think they'll do Growing, and then come with a pole and Ichijo's handgun. I don't see them doing final forms yet. |
If they're going this all-in on Kuuga, it's only a matter of time when they'll do the white recolour with a single different horn piece. Ultimate though... not sure. I don't think it's out the realm of possibility anymore, mind!
So Dragon Form releases January for 3960 Yen... very fun to start getting this info. Shame he doesn't come with a pole but hey, that combined with the Trychaser's handle makes me think we'll get Growing Form more |
I'm sure Growing will be an exclusive.
I would really like to see in-hand/unpainted samples of Dragon to see how the staff is coloured. No way the details are pre-painted, so something's gotta be stickers. |

Just for speculation on future kits, I just saw a video on the Dukemon figure rise standard and it looks like it has some similar stuff to wizard. I don't think I'd be too mad if wizard ended up with parts like Dukemon's cape and clear red parts. I think that might be the best we'd get other than a cloth cape, but chances are that won't happen.

It shows that they do plan on doing ALL of the Main Heisei Riders There is also a good look at OOO, and it looks like he will be able to do his various forms, so I am anticipating more sets to make those. |
Intensely looks at the Gaim, Ghost, and Drive logos
I would grab Gaim and Ghost in a heartbeat, I swear. I need those two specifically to scale a little better next to my Saber :lol Drive I still have to debate between a FRS or a SHF |
Yup, they've confirmed for a while they're doing all 20 and it was so nice when they did. I believe it was just before they revealed Hibiki and Decade?
|
It was during Kuuga's reveal IIRC? They had a little poster of all the main heisei rider symbols. Implying they would do all.
|
Gaim is both the most anticipated release for me, since I love Gaim, and the most daunting, as I'm certain it won't have prepainted gold and silver. Maybe one or the other, but not both, and certainly not prepainted orange and I wonder if the plastic colour will be decent. Plus there's so many painted details on the bodysuit and armour to make me think it'll be a sticker nightmare.
That or it'll be the most perfect model ever and Bandai will outdo themselves/set a new standard with him. :D |
The gold patterns on Gaim are highly likely to be stickers. It's a detail that is rarely found anywhere outside of SHF and premium figures.
It's also very unlikely that we'll get cloth parts for anyone. Just logistically speaking for a plastic model kit, other materials outside of plastic drastically change production and regulation. |

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...44/unknown.png And surprise surprise, he's pretty f*cking beautiful! I've always loved the infusion of gold throughout Mighty's red parts in this form and FRS pulls it off effortlessly. If you're worried about the instructions being confusing, going back and forth between each sheet; it's really not that bad -- as long as you keep Rising's sheet close by you'll be fine, especially given there's very few steps in between Mighty's and most of them are pretty obvious to begin with. They're all very clearly laid out and split up by body part and step number; and even use the coloured part of Amazing's instruction sheet to make it very clear which parts are different. It's extremely satisfying doing that first diversion by the way; just plugging the red torso into the gold lining for the most gorgeous outcome! Mine unfortunately ended up having a loose left knee connection (anyone else got this? haven't heard of anyone else getting it), and like Amazing Mighty before it and of all things to have something in common with, SHF Saber and Blades; there's only 4 back hand plates for 7 total hands and you'll have to swap them out when swapping hands. Ultimately though just a few minor quibbles to a wonderful figure. It's nice to be back in the FRS game after so long; this has really got me looking forward to Christmas! https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...10/unknown.png |
I wanna take a moment to say how considerate the planning is here by the way. If it wasn't obvious from how quick they done it that FRS was gonna do the Amazing/Rising kit from the start, there’s some planning ahead for it in the Kuuga Mighty kit that's all the more noticeable when you're building Rising -- this runner consists exclusively of pieces that you do not use for Rising Mighty, meaning you can completely put them to the side and makes it easier to not get mixed up. In particular this consists of all 3 pieces that Rising replaces for the body, as well as the shoulder pieces

He's so pretty...
|
This may sound weird, but I always considered Rising Mighty Kuuga's "true" base form. Not necessarily in how it was used int he show, but it's just a really solid "finishing" of Mighty. The gold trim is tasteful and works well with the red in ways that make you think it was always designed that way. The shin brace just adds to it, being a cool "weapon" and emphasizing Kuuga's kick and melee fighting. I actually think this is why Amazing Mighty falls a bit flat, as it doubles the shin guard and make it look more like a generic set of grieves. Rising Mighty though is just top notch, and when I get FRS Kuuga I may be sorely tempted to pick it up. (though I already have SS SHF Rising Mighty...)
Great looking kit regardless. How are the double bands on the gauntlets done? One solid gold piece with a red sticker, or two gold stickers over solid red? |

I was wondering why it was taking so long for us to hear anything more about the Trychaser given we do tend to see stuff about a week before release, but it turns out that it's releasing on the 30th rather than the usual middle of the month
https://i.imgur.com/lCeckch.png |
I hope the Try-chaser does well. I'm worried it's a bit expensive, but this may be the alternative to SHF Rider Machines we need. Rider Machines are always a tough sell because they're a large, expensive accessory that doesn't really do much. Plus it's not always intrinsic to the Rider despite, y'know, being part of the name. Making them snap-fit models could really help make them more profitable and less niche.
|
Same. Their Kuuga stuff seems to be working out for them based on how much they're making so I feel like it will do well to warrant at least another couple. Aside from Kuuga; Den-O, W and OOO always seem to be the safe bets so maybe one of those next?
|
i would like they going to do gaim.
|
Whenever they arrive, would you guys say I should build Kuuga or Double next?

I really didn't like the color of the green on Double and I wish the scarf was better looking, but it is a great kit. If I were you, I would do Double first and then Kuuga. Save the best for last!
|
Hmm, then probably W then Kuuga, slot Earthree Gundam in between them maybe.
|
Yeah I'd do W first. It's not bad but it's not as good as Kuuga, so I'd build it first. It's unfortunately a victim of being an early FRS Rider. Every black detail that's not part of the belt (or Joker) needs to be painted. That includes the trim on the coloured bands (though Joker has stickers) and the black line in the center. It's also not as accurate as Kuuga, but still pretty good. If you can paint these are all non-issues of course.
|
After painting Double, it is one of my favorite of the rider kits. Hibiki is probably #1.
https://i.imgur.com/jeCynOA.jpg |
Hibiki and W are likely my next kits after Fourze. I'm also thinking of picking up Zi-O or Build since they're older, I'll have to get them eventually, and I don't want to fall behind and end up building the outdated kits after the more recent ones.
That green on W turned out super nice. What brand did you use? I bought some metallic Tamiya for when I eventually get CycloneJoker (I've done metallic paint of HeatMetal and LunaTrigger as well) and that shade looks really accurate! |
Yo!
so uh... Kuuga Dragon kit got a second wave PO, it will shipped in May Faiz Axel got a third wave PO, shipped in the same month as Kuuga Dragon Zoffy kit got an update too, the boxart is really nice with Zoffy kit got an update, we might get more info about Trychaser in two days, since Zoffy is released in 28 and Trychaser is 30 ALSO BATMAN AMPLIFIED, FINALLY Quote:
