Those 3 cards aren't part of the new Rainbow (?) category, which I hypothesize is specifically reserved for Nijigon. The insignias on those 3 cards are normal insignias, different from the new Rainbow category. Their level numbers are also still the same.

I think only their artworks are modified to visually match Nijigon's cards, so, if you insert them into the DX Gotchardriver they'll trigger the same sounds. The rarity type of those 3 cards are "Rainbow Rare", while Nijigon's Rainbow category cards are labeled as "Nijigon Rare". As written in the description box in that page, the Rainbow Rare rarity type consists of 22 cards, which probably made up of 10 level X cards, Steamliner, Hopper1, and 10 other cards, which could have an alternate artworks for the level X cards, while the Nijigon Rare consists of 3 cards, which I doubt will be found complete in 1 pack, haha. Gotcha catch 'em all! So, those 3 cards (and other Rainbow Rare cards and other rare cards) are only available as DX toys, not in the story.

What baffles me is Bandai's decision to bundle Nijigon's cards with other Phase:04 cards, not with DX Nijigon. Perhaps they wanted to build early momentum/hype, and later will bundle them again with DX Nijigon, as usual.

I think it's possible. Of course, those cards are clearly Gaiard, Dragonalos and X Wizard, but there might be a reason why their texture is the same as Nijigon's right card (from Gotchard's perspective). Remember how Hibiki's Disc Animals have their own Final Forms that match Armed? Maybe Nijigon has the power to grant a Rainbow Rare status buff to other Chemies, by inserting them in place of the right card.

Something else that occurred to me is that the 10 main categories range in frequency from low (Animal/Insect) to high (Vehicle/Occult) just like a rainbow would, with Artifact as wild. Of course, that could simply be for visual distinction, but it's worth thinking about anyway. Notice that Valvarad uses the 2 categories with the highest frequency and this shows in his appearance as well. Spanner dresses in violet, while Valvarad is pink.

Considering a lot of the cards in the Phases have been actually utilized in some capacity in the show, I wouldn't be surprised if the Rainbow Rare Variants of Chemies are featured in some way in the show.

Especially considering the non Level Xs in RR correspond to the main forms featured in Q1. Those being the same that got their own Parallel Rares to denote their significance.

How long will this Legend "arc" last? Only 2 episodes from 32-33? I really hope so, because the longer KR Legend (and KR Zein and other non-canon Riders) exist in the main story, the higher the possibility that the main story is going to be further derailed. So, are the Hundred trio going to be killed in the very next episode? So far, the wind is apparently blowing in the opposite direction, so this Legend "arc" may last longer than 2 episodes. *facepalm

Yeah, both of you could be right. The Rainbow Rare cards will probably appear as the "final episode/arc" version where they're upgraded by Nijigon's powers.

Considering how the scans show little of Zein's involvement it might just be an Outsiders tie-in of sorts where he's just watching menacingly. Especially since I don't think Yuuto's actor is credited?

Unless Zein is the big boss of Hundred in Gotchard's-verse. But we do know that the 3 Hundred Members are part of the "Hundred 4" and that fourth member is likely Ark-One.

My guess is now that we're getting into it, Episodes 33 and 34 will be our Legend stuff, maybe 35, depends on how much they fit into the episodes. If only because that's all the May Scans seem to focus on except as everyone needs to remember, Toei only really ever shows the first half of the month (which would be 34 and 35) so there are plenty of surprises. And they're probably showing all this Legend stuff because it's the easiest to show since it's just a lot of old stuff.

Personally I'm looking forward to it. It looks like Gotchard is having a lot of fun with what they're picking (I mean Ark-One getting a Malgam-like transformation? That's absolute genius use of a legacy character) to use for this special. Plus depending on how Ark-One Malgam is formed, alongside stuff like Clotho and Lachesis continuing their character work, it's hard to really say Gotchard got derailed or this is filler? Because either Chemy are being collected (which is the main goal of the series remember) or characters are continuing arcs we've seen them on.

Though to be totally honest? The way everything's presented and set up? This feels like a classic Power Rangers Team Up in terms of vibes on how this is structured.

Plus the lack of love for Rinne and Spanner has been quite annoying on top of that putting our secondary rider first heshin into a film and now bringing in a spin off into the main series

I feel like the term that better sticks is Gotchard is trying to be a bit more like Showa Rider (Gotchard especially has been bringing back some old stuff like from early Heisei too) than Sentai.

Especially nowadays "blank is trying to be like Sentai" doesn't really stick and comes off as more of a buzzword(phrase) because I've seen my fair share of Sentai, and Rider doesn't really come close to it aside from shallow comparisons. Funnily enough it feels like Rider's the most unchanging of the various Toku Series running. Sentai's been getting more experimental lately and Ultraman likes to reinvent itself every now and again, especially recently.

I know right! Reminds me of when people talk about adaptions and somebody says, "[x] is too Sentai for Power Rangers", like, no duh. I understood when people called Saber a Sentai, but what exactly about Gotchard looks Sentai? Doesn't make sense.

Genius? What's so genius about it? It's just mashing together several ideas with very minor thematic similarities. Any fanfic writer can do it.

The writer make Ark-One appear just because it's a malice AI, so when it's combined with a Chemy (which is probably the Zero-One or Zero-Two Chemy), it will form the Ark Malgam. The very minor similarities is that both the Ark and a Malgam are formed by malice. The Ark-Malgam will then very likely fight KR Zein.

I, whose best accomplishment in creative writing was getting an A for high school homework, have even come up with several such ideas myself, such as:
- Make the riders form Revice appear via the very convenient pArAlLeL wOrLd trope, and turn them into Malgams. They use their inner demons to transform, and demons love malice, right? So, the Revice riders would make great Malgams, right? Make Ikki bond with the Ultimate Revice Chemy.
- Make KR Chaser (or Mashin Chaser) appear via the same method, and make him fight or help Spanner/KR Valvarad. They have machine as motif, and both also had kaijin forms with the same motif. They fit well, right?
- Make KR Evol Black Hole appear via the same method, and make him fight Fuga/KR Wind. They have black hole motif, so they fit well, right?
- Make KR Blades Fantastic Lion appear via the same method, and make him help Rinne/KR Majade. They have mythical horse motif (pegasus for the Tenkuu no Pegasus WRB, and unicorn for the Unicon RCC), so they fit well, right?
- Make KR Kuuga and KR OOO appear via the same method, and make them team up because they both transform with ancient artifacts. They fit well, right?
- Make Ace Ukiyo appear via the same method, and make him transform into God Greeed. Greeeds in KR OOO are created from humans' desires, and Geats riders use Desire Drivers. They fit well, right?
- etc

See? This kind of shallow logic was what I meant by Outsiders-ism/Yuuya-ism in this post. Like I said above, it's basically just a mashup of several ideas with very minor similarities, yet huge dissimilarities. This kind of atrocious writing aims to create an illusion of grandiose narrative, at the expense of logical consistency and common sense. There's a reason why the stories in KR Decade and KR Zi-O (and other anniversary/crossover/team-up stories) make little to no sense. And why should old characters from a separate series be involved in new stories? Isn't that one of the signs of creative bankruptcy?

So, please don't casually throw around the word genius like it means nothing. You debase the meaning of genius if you use it carelessly like that. You make it sound like a genius is a common occurrence, which is not. Oh, and casually labeling a mediocre writer as genius will only stunt his growth, not only as a writer but also as a person.

Gotchard's story is still on track, if and only if the infection caused by this Legend "arc" only lasts 2 episodes and ends in episode 33. Until it's proven to be a 2-parter filler episodes, there's still a 50:50 chance that this Legend "arc" will derail Gotchard's main storyline. So far, the signs are pointing in the opposite direction. I don't ever remember Bandai advertising a new DX toy in just 2 special episodes and 1 regular episode. If it lasts until the debut of KR Gotchard's final form in episode 38-40, then the story is FUBAR.

I watch this show to see a story about alchemy, not a random story involving a convenient pArAlLeL wOrLd trope. I want to watch KR Gotchard, not KR Decade v3.0 or KR Zi-O v2.0. There are many other tropes about alchemy that can be incorporated, such as philosopher's stone, elixir, the grand book of alchemy, etc. The writers should also expand the Alchemys Union which I think is very empty for such a big organization. They have barely developed the Sisters' characterization, and now they add 3 new enemy generals?

This. I fully concur with your statements in bold. The writers are trying to mash several stories together and hope that the result will make sense. Surprise, surprise!

The problem with KR Gotchard is that the side content (KR Legend spin-off) is infecting the main storyline. And the bigger problem is that KR Gotchard's main storyline is not only infected by KR Legend, but also by the crappiest of the crappiest of the crappiest side contents: KR Outsiders.

Main content should be left as main content. Side content should be left as side content. Canon stories should be left as canon stories. Non-canon stories should be left as non-canon stories. Regular series should be left as regular series. Anniversary series should be left as anniversary series. Abruptly transforming a regular series into an anniversary series just to advertise a new toy is one of the weirdest decisions I've ever seen in TV production.

Let's hope that this Legend "arc" is just a filler 2-parter that began in episode 32 and ends in episode 33. If it continues for several more episodes, then Gotchard's story is definitely screwed up by the producers/writers themselves.

And I haven't even begin to talk about Rinne's transformation in the Gotchard-Geats collab film. Long story short, putting the crucial development of a main character in a crappy non-canon film is just a bad narrative move.

If you're going to bash me for my use of words which I can use whatever word i want to describe something... then I'll just kindly point out. Please actually use the word filler correctly. Stop throwing it around just to give the illusion that your dislike has any basis. While I get that words evolve over time due to the way our culture is, filler is probably the worst I feel? Filler at its core was used and should still be used to describe anime that have to derail themselves into an original story so they didn't catch up to the manga. Now it's simply used to say any potential small character work or breathing space is pointless which is very untrue.

And I mean this recent episode of Gotchard (33) still has developments, the remarks about the dark king showing up, alongside Lachesis and Clotho having their moments as well. Saying this is filler means you can skip this episode which is very untrue, and this arc will still see us collecting more Chemy as well which again as I've said... is the main plot of the show whether or not people like to believe it.

Anyway, I was just pointing out how I think the Legend stuff their doing is really fun. And here you come in and decide to slightly copypaste stuff from other threads with some real negative stuff just to start something.

Like being entirely real, this 'fanfic' stuff that people complain about? That's creativity, that's what's pushing things further, that's what's allowing people to grow further in these fields. We're in the age where fans of old franchises now have the chance to put their love into things. And denying that love and calling it fanfic in such a demeaning way is insulting. Especially for me as someone who makes and enjoys fanfics regularly.

I see a bunch of people looking at what they have, saying 'this'd be cool' and making it happen. Like I'm sorry but if you're telling me you can't find some joy in Eternal 26 A-Z Gaia Memories vs. Platina Gotchard 26 A-Z Chemies which is a clever and cool detail for them to do (alongside the Henshin details for Eternal and just every little bit this past episode) then idk what to say.

Legend giving people the Phase 1 Heisei Medley as I like to call it was dare I say gorgeous. :lolol

All ideas are just shallow logic until you actually do something with them. Most of those you mentioned wouldn't even need to rely on Legendsiders stuff, so there's no reason why they couldn't be turned in to good stories by a competent writer, whether a screenwriter or a fanfic writer.

I just want to say that Kamen Rider Legend was always going to be part of the main story (as he was leaked super early on). During the side story which really wasn't a side story, Kaguya said Gotchard wasn't the "gorgeous" Gotchard he was expecting to see. Platinum Gotchard is what he expected to see and it's part of why he actually showed up in the main series now.

I, who is not a writer, let alone a genius writer, even provided several similar examples with the aim of showing that this type of writing is not hard to do, let alone sufficient to be labeled as "genius". As far as I know, episodes like 28-31 are called fillers too, because there weren't many things happening in those episodes. Chill episodes like these are common in this franchise. Crossover episodes that promote the sister franchises or the latest film are called filler episodes too in this franchise.

I concur. As I've explained above, I myself don't view episodes 32-33 as fillers. Crossover episodes (with the concurring Super Sentai series or the new KR series) are usually non-canon stories that don't feature important reveals nor plot developments, only basic stories which often make no logical sense within the continuity of the whole story of the individual series.

Episodes 32-33 (and very likely also the next several episodes of the Legend "arc"), however, feature several important reveals/plot developments, such as Gigist's appearance and Clotho's upgraded form. If these episodes and the next several episodes of the Legend "arc" are to be disregarded as merely non-canon crossover episodes, then the several important reveals/plot developments should be disregarded too, which will break the story. My point was a refutation to the point made by several people in other forums who insisted that KR Legend's appearance will make no impact to the main storyline, whether positive or negative. After the broadcast of today's episode, those people are proven to be quite wrong.

I have no problem with fanfics nor crossovers. I even dearly miss the mundane, fun, random net movies of the past, so I only have my love for them. What I have problem with is not fanfics nor crossovers nor random fun contents, but when a crossover story "infect" the main story, like what's probably happening with Gotchard right now. Like I previously stated: Let regular stories be regular stories, let crossover stories be crossover stories. Let non-canon stories be just non-canon stories. Never mix them up or interchange one with another, or you risk confusing your audience. If your audience are confused by your messy canon, then they will gradually abandon your franchise. If your audience are subconsciously tuning out because they're confused by your stories, then it's a very bad sign.

People, especially today's people, have many things to allocate their brains' processing power to, and entertainment is usually the lowest one in their priority list. People only want to be entertained, not be given a confusing homework of connecting the dots between several unconnectible stories.

I concur. I think it's very possible that the producers have planned for this drastic change in storyline (from a story about alchemy to a story about invaders from parallel world) since the pre-production phase. If it's true, then it's even worse than a sudden, unplanned change of course.

Be careful. Not all ideas are equal. Some are right, some are wrong, some are not even wrong. Some are doable, while some others are the equivalent of making Jesus born before Pontius Pilate. Some are possible, while some others are just plain impossible. Be careful not to waste time on something impossible, wrong, or not even wrong.

Maybe there's an uber-genius writer who only exists once in the whole history of humanity that can turn crossover stories like KR Decade/KR Zi-O/KR Outsiders into a great, sensical story with consistent internal logic and zero plot holes, but so far all signs point that that person is definitely not Yuuya Takahashi nor the other writers from KR Outsiders, haha. I can only wait until this uber-mensch of a writer arrives. Until then, please keep regular stories separated from crossover stories.

That's Koichi Sakamoto for you, love him or hate him, despite his flaws and quirks the dude knows how to make a fun form-swap festival. He even did one for Gotchard too even if it wasn't that extensive. But hey he pulled out the best form that I'm surprised they never used earlier, Fire Gotchard Antwrestler. That highspeed closeline he pulled out was sick.

And that's not going onto the fact that for the Zein cameo, Koichi decided to show up to the ADR studio with Super-1 footage on hand to give Zein's VA so he could get the intonation of the finisher call out correctly.

There was a lot of passion this past episode. And to think, with all the stuff we were shown in scans, we've somehow ran through 85% of via this past episode and this coming week's episode. So May has plenty of surprises left.

This is still a good thing given Reiwa thus far. The 4 main are the ones that matter, while the 3 occasional only existed for 1-4 episodes, only to push the main 4 to do more. On the subject of the past Riders, they aren't even the actual Riders, they're folks that are using their powers. PLUS! They don't even belong in the season at all. So they really don't even count. But that's just how I look at it.

Not that I think it impacts the show in any way regarding future appearances of Kaguya, but Seiichirou Nagata who plays him just announced he's going freelance, so no more being part of an agency for the time being until he decides to get back into one.

I pray Legend will stick around and will help out Gotchard & co.

Legend will probably be like Decade in Zi-O, snooping around secrets behind the events taking place and if Houtaro will hold the key to saving the world. Plus if the Alchemys Union is hiding dark secrets or not, even with Gigist & Geryon.

They better not wipe everyone's memories & Kajiki's of Houtaro being Gotchard and everyone. They deserve to know & remember, as well as ask for his help, even in the Chemy hunt.

Oh Rainbow Gotchard is such a beaut. I love just the deep blue on him as the primary color with the rainbow stripes complimenting it. Also the chest furnace's appearance now looks pretty cool.
