Normally I don't watch Kamen Rider but Kiva was my all time favorite Kamen Rider series
|
Kiva is nice visually, but it's strange storytelling and odd use of characters is just a mess.

Stronger Episode 27: Well the Delza Army in one showing looks better than the entirety of Black Satan. Well they had bad leadership and no where near the intelligence of General Shadow, who I love for actually manipulating Stronger to help him usurp Black Satan's resources. An amazing plan. Though Tackle and Tachibana are doing much better now than they did against Black Satan which is hilarious. I love that the storytelling is more tight and less episodic. I definitely am loving Shigeru like always because of how much he wants to protect the people of the world and heroic he is. Staff Officer Steel and Wild Eagle are both interesting right now and I love how they changed the RoboMen into specific minions for each enemy. Well I can't wait for more this final stretch is awesome.

Decided to watch more of the original Kamen Rider instead of starting OOO. I like the show so far. It's kind of slow and basic, but the reason I started here is to get the skeleton of Kamen Rider and see how future series built upon it, so my expectations were in check. The only thing I don't like about it is the camerawork and editing. I mean, episode 3 had the camera turn completely upside down! The editing is also really sloppy. Sure, they're trying to mask the poor effects, but sometimes it gets distracting. I kind of get the feeling that the crew was relatively inexperienced, because there are so many amateur mistakes. There was also a scene where I saw Hongo getting on the bike from one direction, and then in the next shot the bike drives away in the complete opposite direction, creating poor continuity between shots.
Anyways, that's getting kind of nitpicky. Poor camerawork and editing aside, it's pretty cool. I'm definitely more into it than I thought I would be. Since there's only about 39 episodes that are available subbed, I'm hoping I can make it through without getting bored. |

I just watched the first 2 episodes of Ryuki. I've been thinking about watching for a while, but when the Tokunation Rider War started, I had to. It's really good so far. Shinji's character is really funny and Ren is cool and mysterious, so there's two complete opposites together.
|
Yes, Ron is a very cool dude.
Ryuki is a really good series. Hopefully you enjoy it all. |

Kuuga 43
Man, not that it took me this long to notice, but the characters in this show have literally the most inane conversations imaginable. I don't, never have, and never will care how Mika and Ichijou eat their red bean buns. Christ. This is almost as bad as that part in another episode when Sawatari and Enokida just stood there giggling about Godai being 'weird.' |

I just finished episode 6 of Ryuki. I am really enjoying it so far. I'm really curious about Yui's brother now.

Well I watched all of Kabuto...it was okay. The while deal with the Worms and the Natives I sort of understood until the end where things got confusing. It just got all so muddied by the end.
Tendou had an interesting, if not completely insane, personality for a ma main rider. It was at equal times amusing and annoying with how he seemed to know nearly everythung. He only really got distressed when something went down involving his sisters. In fact....aside from Kagaku ALL of the Riders were completely nuts. And pretty much pointless aside from Tendou and Kagami. Drake was just kinda there...except when he wasn't. Sasword...I'm not even sure what to think about. It seems they forgot his while deal and the fact that he was a rider for a dozen episodes so he could act like a moron...and I guess his death was sad but...I dunno it was just weird. Speaking of weird...Kickhopper and Punchhopper...I'm not quite clear on the massive personality jump Kickhopper had when he first appeared. I'm not sure why as Punchhopper gets seen in a sympathetic light unless he's the Bee, then he's pretty much instantly a jerk. Also the Bee was a cool suit, sad to see it used so little. Series was still watchable though, it was fun. I didn't even outright hate all the stuff I complained about, it just left me puzzled at what I was even watching aha. |
Kuuga 46
Didn't Enokida's mom say she brought that paper craft thing home a while ago? Smells like a plot hole. The most important plot hole, probably. |
And now I'm finished.
Kuuga didn't really leave much of an impression on me, all in all. But I did quite like the last few episodes, especially 48. It was an alright series, I guess. Also episode 50 is the damn greatest thing ever. That is all. Anyway, now onwards to Stronger... |
Stronger Episode 28: Damn that was an awesome episode. Staff Officer Steel and Wild Eagle's rivalry was as good as Titan vs Shadow. I think they liked having the bad guys against each other so they decided to expand it even more. Wild Eagle reminded me of Terrorsaur and Starscream from the Transformers Universe so I'm surprised he was defeated this early. Shigeru was great with using his intellect to get past the insulated net and Wild Eagle's electric resistance by throwing him into the river with him. I loved Yuriko's reaction to seeing the Fake Stronger being destroyed because it just shows how much she cares about him. Tobei and Tackle both were doing well and didn't get captured so that was fantastic for them. I love General Shadow's intelligence and how he's fueling the fire of the rivalries to help make them want to defeat Stronger more. I am very intrigued to see where this goes for Stronger and his crew I can't wait for more.

I watched Ninninger vs Drive last night. I've been following Ninninger and that part of it felt like any other part of the series, so I don't have much to say there. However, this was my first exposure to newer Kamen Rider and I gotta say it seems like a fun show. I also really dug the way Kamen Rider 3 looked.
|
I just finished Kamen Rider Ryuki episode 17. Ryuki and Raia make an awesome duo, especially when they both used the Drag Claws to finish the monster at the end. Also, Asakura is being introduced now. Things are about to get real good.
|
Stronger Episode 29: I am liking these villain rivalries a lot and just like how General Shadow would foil Titan's plots each of these Delza Generals are helping Stronger so they all have less rivals against Stronger. This is definitely an army made by General Shadow lol. The camera angles were very weird this episode you could barely see the fight between Stronger and Doctor Kate. Though Steel vs Stronger was the highlight of it especially the Reversal Breaker which was the most wicked Piledriver I've ever seen. This fight was a wrestling match pretty much which was awesome. I do love that they are staying focused with Shigeru pretty much searching for the Delza army in the beginnings of the episodes and Tobei and Yuriko are the ones who are doing the other stuff that randomly get into the trouble. Well I don't know if I am prepared for the next episode but I can't wait for more.

If it's any consolation, it's really good and hits all the right emotions. |

I just finished Ryuki episode 19. Asakura is a real jerk. This guy is pure evil and he alrewdy killed someone the same day he got his deck. I can't wait to see how the fight between these 5 riders play out.

Stronger Episode 30: Once again Kamen Rider breaks me. The Showa era was supposed to be the happier time (I don't know whatever gave me that idea lol.) This was Tackle's finest hour it sucks what happened to her but she really showed what she could do. I totally loved her protecting Shigeru and fighting off Doctor Kate so he could save the kids and recharge himself. I wish we would have gotten more of Shigeru and Yuriko just being themselves talking with each other because that was a wonderful scene with them drinking coffee. I felt bad for Tobei because of keeping the secret and how hard that had to be for him. I have no love lost for Doctor Kate, that bitch can rot in hell with the others, but I am happy that Tackle actually defeated a head General. Major Skull is pretty cool, I like someone who actually can think like General Shadow, I feel that he might last longer than the others though. I think the most heart-breaking moment was when Shigeru said he wasn't strong enough, especially since he goes by Stronger. Well I am definitely emotional right now but alas I will continue on as I can't wait for more of Stronger.

Kamen Rider Ryuki episode 32. So far, Scissors, Gai, and aRaia have been killed and Odin has been introduced. 5 riders are still alive, and 5 have yet to be introduced. Asakura is pure evil. He has no heart at all. Killing his brother and using a little girl to bait Mirror Monsters to feed his Contract Monsters. Shinji, is way too soft. Ren was doing the right thing when Darkwing tried taking the Mirror Monster souls from Asakura, but Shinji interfered and saved Asakura. That part just drove me crazy.

Yeah I can agree with that. Though the Heisei Era has had gruesome stuff too. Ah that would have been awesome if she would have came back. I wish it wasn't cancelled though. |
Stronger Episode 31: Well that's a great way to hide a power up, it wasn't shown in the preview for this episode so that was an awesome surprise. I liked how these CyberDemons of Delza are actually powerful that Stronger needed an upgrade to beat them. Pretty much one of the first Upgrade Forms in the Showa Era, besides the First 2 riders, and X's power up that didn't change his look. I feel so bad for the Misaki family after Yuriko died, feels like her Dad died next and that just sucks after both of them helping Stronger. The Delza army is going to be destroyed by Stronger after this episode. They have no chance now lol. General Shadow is just sending wave after wave of men to try and defeat Stronger here. The Zapp Brannigan/Bane method is an interesting way for him to fight. I still can't wait for all these pawns to get out of the way for the fight between Stronger and Shadow I've been wanting.

Kamen rider Ryuki episode 34 and 13 Riders Special. The story is really progressing in Ryuki. The characters have all changed so much and it's so fun to watch them. Learning more about Shiro Kanzaki is also interesting. I really can't wait to see how it turns out at the end. For the 13 Riders Special, I hqve to say it was probably the worst thing from Kamen Rider I have ever seen. It starte off okay, but the ending was so bad. They just kept on throwing in riders into the battle. Ryuga, Femme, Tiger, and Imperer were just thrown in there with no explanation at all. The double ending thing was kind of cool, but overall it was horrible and very confusing.

Just started my tenth Rider! (though of course i've only finished six...)
Kamen Rider Stronger, episode 1. Decent start. Black Satan's goons look like crap, so...staying on course for Showa. The...armadillo? Thing. Also looked like crap, which...eh. X and Amazon had better kaijin suits. It's nice to see a female character who can actually hold her own, if only for like...a minute. If I understand things correctly this whole damsel-in-distress thing is gonna be a customary thing for Tackle, so that's not awful at all! Well, something is something I suppose. Shigeru doesn't have a good fashion sense. |

Finished OOO Wonderful. This being my first KR movie, I had fun with it. Fourze's cameo caught me by complete surprise, but he was the immediate highlight of the movie next to the final battle. I also liked getting to see Eiji briefly becoming Birth (wonder how often that sort of thing happens in KR where a Rider takes another's form). Overall, a solid timekiller.

And Yuriko looks fine, really. Anyway, episode 2 got me excited for a minute there that Shigeru was a true jerkhole turned hero, which is not really something I've seen in a main Rider, and would have been awesome backstory. But nah, he's every bit the ally of justice the other Showa Riders are, if not more so. Bah, kind of a disappointment. |
