Happy to report that I got an okay Kiwami Arms!

That fuckin' sticker is crook-ed.

The sticker is always crooked :< still disappointed it did it worst than the bloody AC figure.

Yeah there is a bit of a crease on the sticker now that I look closely at it...but it's not really noticeable when I have him on the shelf so it's something I can live with.

That aside, he's a lovely figure that silver really makes him pop.

Though getting the cape on him was a bit of a pain.

My Gaim Kiwami Arms arrived today, and... well, it's a bit of a letdown.

The Good

- The visor looks terrific.

- The paint is fantastic. Aside from the chest emblem, all of the detailing I could want is well-done.

- It has most of the articulation you'd expect from Figuarts, with lots of hinging armor pieces.

- Unlike my Kachidoki Arms, the belt is nice and secure.

The Bad

- My figure came with fairly weak ankle joints. This is a big deal since due to the cape, the figure is very top-heavy. I can get my other Figuarts to balance on their own, but it appears I'll need a stand for Kiwami, because he's could easily take a shelf-dive. I worry that even a simple fall-over might break the helmet crest. This is a release that really, really needed the long-since-abandoned metal feet.

- The chest sticker is wrinkled, but it doesn't stand out that much due to the thick plastic coating it.

- Unfortunately, the plastic renders the image murky. I thought for a while that there might be a plastic film protecting the chest window. but that doesn't appear to be the case.

- When not on display, I keep my Figuarts in their boxes so I can keep track of their accessories. However, Kiwami shipped with the cape separate, and to attach it, you have to pull off the delicate head and upper-chest pieces. This is going to make the figure a HUGE pain to pack/unpack.

- Did we really need Kachidoki's accessories recycled?

The Both

- The lock seeds on Gaim's hips appear to be separate pieces that were glued on. I both love and hate this. Half of me is irritated that I can't do anything with the new Ichigo, Pine, etc. locks. The other half is grateful that I don't need to worry about locks falling off and getting lost when I handle the figure. This edges closer to the good category than to the bad. Bandai's design decision here may ultimately be wise. (I suspect it's possible to prise them loose - I don't think they're molded together - but I don't intend to try.)

- The Kachidoki and Kiwami lock seeds don't appear to be removable either, and again, I suspect this was wise. I love my Kachidoki Gaim, but the lock seed constantly popping off the Sengoku Driver was a pain in the hindquarters. This is a thumbs-down choice if you really wanted to remove them, but I suspect it's for the best.

- The cape will not lie flush with Kiwami's body. It's on a small hinge, and due to how it's built, it doesn't have a full range of motion. You can move it so that it is flung back a little more, but it won't move in any closer. The cape is always going to be sticking out at a slight angle from his body. This is annoying, but at least it leaves room for a stand (which you'll need due to the top-heaviness.)

I think Kachidoki Arms may have raised my expectations a little too high.

The problem here though is that kiwami never really had a unique weapon of his own. I think the reason is for that is because Kiwami uses the DJ Gun in almost every single one of his appearances so it's probably the most iconic or something.

It is a let down and annoying that he didn't come with the other Weapons and we gotta have the other Gaim figuarts if we wanna display him with them yeah but that probably would've upped his accessory count a bit.

I´m just glad that they didnt pull the ultimate dick move and didnt gave Kiwami no weapons at all.

I got Black RX renewal and Riderman in the mail today since I got a $50 Amazon gift card for Christmas and decided to buy them before they go up in prices in the after market. Riderman is a really good figure but it took me a while to figure on how to put the hook on his left arm.

Black RX is pretty solid but I notice his legs feel kinda tight. Maybe it's just mine, but I wish I can move his left and right legs better. It reminds me how my Amazon SHF has a similar issue on his left leg. I'm still very happy with both of them.

IMO they should have released the Kagematsu Shin with Kiwami and scrapped Kurokage Shin entirely. Are there really people who want to buy a web-exclusive figure that appeared one time in a movie as a background character and is basically Kurokage with a Genesis Driver? His weapon is the only thing unique about him, not even as a collector I would want this figure. And I somehow doubt it will be released anyways, maybe as some kind of event exclusive.

And seeing how frequently Kiwami Gaim used the weapon and no one in the show except him had it, I would consider it his unique weapon.

Um, I do. One-time use or not, which is no different from other movie riders, he's still a separate character from Hase's Kurokage or the Kurokage troopers. On top of that with Knuckle coming out at some point, that would give us all of Team Baron in rider form.

So yeah, I'd buy Kurokage Shin.

Yeah I guess I shouldn’t be so ignorant, of course some people want the figure, it's just I personally don't have any interest in it at all, but the weapon is nice.

So it would've been nice if they included the Kagematsu Shin with Kiwami, just so I don't get tempted to snag one just for the weapon.

The Kagematsu Shin is a yari, which is one of my favorite polearms of all time - you can thank Shin/Cye from Yoroiden Samurai Troopers/Ronin Warriors for that - so my collection is not complete without it.

Also, you can never, ever have enough Kurokage. Ever. At all.

Actually, I'm in full agreement with you. I don't even know what Kurogake Shin is, but I personally can not justify buying a movie rider Figuart any more. They were on screen for maybe 15-20 minutes total, have little to no development, and tend to be lack luster characters. I'm not going to spend $40+ on a toy for someone that was barely there.

Well that depends for me personally, I'll definitely buy Mars and Kamuro, because I love the designs and they play big parts in the movie. The problem for me isn’t that Kurokage Shin only appears for a few minutes in the movie or even the character behind it, it's that the armor is exactly the same as the standard Kurokage. It's the same exact deal, only that this one has a Genesis Driver strapped around his body and that the weapon is different.

I personally cant bring myself to buy a Malibu Stacy with a new hat, especially if I already own the original Malibu Stacy.

They could easily get more mileage out of a Kurokage Shin release by including an alternate, silver-belt Sengoku Driver and standard Kagematsu, thereby having the option to have him as Shin or a Trooper.

Though I haven't been crazy enough to see if the Gaim figuarts can come apart at the waist like Wizard to see if such a thing would even be possible without severely damaging the figure, so that may be a possible issue...

All figuarts come apart at the waist easily. It's just a ball joint holding it there and the belts are rarely if ever attached to either the waist or torso. It would be an easy swap.

Meh, maybe i'll think differently when I see the Gaim movie, but I'm not even willing to go out of my way for Femme and Ryuga, and they are far more important than the other movie riders.

I'd rather spend my limited space and money on riders that are from the actual shows, especially when most of the movie riders are not even canon.

Wait, what? Aside from movies blatantly set in alternate realities that in the end have no type of connection with the main series, most of the movie Riders ARE canon. Heck, even Gaim's summer movie Riders were canon since the alternate world in that was being experienced by the show's Kouta and even had the main villain return at the end of the series.

Most of the time they don't show up after movies because they're either killed or come from different timelines, like Aqua or New Den-O.

Is there anything that is supposed to be going up for pre-order tonight? I know most stores are on holiday right now, but some of them have had new items going up anyway.

And technically speaking, both Kamuro and Mars appeared in the show. Of course you can say: "I don't count tie-ins", but they are a part of the show.

I think Kamen Rider does a good job with that, like with W you can see the destroyed tower, Gaim had Kogane returning at the end (and had some character development for Kaito) and in Drive the criminal in jail mentions that Shinnosuke arrested Lupin.

Bujin Gaim is a part of the Gaim-story too, even though he lives in a completely different dimension. And they completely missed the opportunity for Micchy to use the blood orange lockseed somehow.

Yeah a lot of Rider movies DO fit somewhere within the main series now a days...

The Tamashii Features Twitter account said the May drop (plus the Star Wars stuff) is on the 6th Jan. That said, Mashin Chaser and his bike wasn't pictured in the tweet so I don't know about them. I'd assume the same applies though.

okay, I have a couple questions:

1. I have a rider one figure with a really loose antenna joint, what would you recommend I do to ensure it doesn't fall off?

2. I have a Super-2 figure, and I'm always afraid the joints holding his gloves are gonna snap, would adding soap into the peg holes for his gloves help?

3. when does Super-1 use the sword?

The Ace riders from Blade are not canon.

Orga and Omega from 555 are not canon.

Those evil riders from Kiva are not canon.

The Onis from Hibki are not canon.

Shin did say MOST, not ALL.

And I'm surprised that nobody has brought up yet that Kurokage Shin isn't a nobody, but Peko. An alternate one, yes, but also far from a nobody.

Including his weapon with Kiwami Arms would have been pretty neat.

But to those saying that the DJ Gun shouldn't have been included just because it came with Kachidoki too... I in no way can agree with you in the least. At all. That would have left him with nothing.

It's not realistic at all to have expected a ton of weapons to be packed in, even though it makes sense for the character. Unfortunately. But he still needed something, and he did still use that one as much as Kachidoki did.

If there was any change to his weapons, I would have liked a regular Musou Saber too.

(And sure, the Kagematsu Shin because I don't see Kurokage Shin actually getting released and he did use that often as well.)

I do find it a little insulting that we are ignoring Kurokage Shin is Peko.

I mean, I felt Peko was a great non-fighting character in Gaim and him getting armor for the movie was, to me, a nice gesture to the character.

I know I'll buy a Shin Kurokage to go along with Baron and Knuckle. Team Baron 4 life.

Nah. Still no confirmation but it's very likely he'll be happening. And I'll be extremely pleased if the figure does get released. I won't be happy til all the Team Baron riders exist together.

Team Baron rides together and they get put on the shelf together.
